I had a really nice dinner last night (Friday Night) at Luna Rossa. Would definitely recommend. We had a really nice moment to share - when we arrived for our 7:30pm outdoor dining reservation we were initially concerned because all the outdoor tables were full and no one seemed to be anywhere near ready for a check. But less than 2 minutes later the head waiter comes out the front door with a table in hand, sets us up in the nook of the entry to the store next door (which was closed for the day), sets the table and we were on our way to a fine evening!! Food was very good, service was attentive, prices were reasonable. Like many NYC restaurants serving outdoors, they have likely overtaxed the kitchen and the waitstaff just a bit. They seem to be trying their best, but plan on a 'relaxed' evening...if you are brining kids or you want to get in and out quickly probably not my first recommendation.
Can't get enough of Luna Rosa. You can go to all the trendy restaurants you want but they don't hold a candle to this place. Great food, great service and a warm friendly atmosphere.
Service was excellent. Was disappointed in the sword fish. Was like fried fillet of sole.
Some of the best Italian food in all of Manhattan. Just go. You won’t be disappointed.
We keep going it just gets better and better. Don't tell anyone.
Food is outstanding and the service is tope rate too.
Third or fourth visit - food and service has always delivered. First visit post pandemic the restaurant has not missed a beat - was very nice to get back.
We brought friends from out of town and the evening was lovely. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more attentive and we all enjoyed our dinner so much!
Only issue I had was that we arrived for brunch and yet was told there was no brunch menu- although it’s on their website.
I was looking for brunch items and the main cena menu wasn’t full of choices that I wanted at 1pm in the afternoon.
A wonderful neighborhood gem with an inspired menu and excellent service. Just might need to make it a habit!
Always a favorite. The food is delicious, the wine list extraordinary and the staff is some friendly and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there!
Amazing experience at Luna Rossa. The restaurant is so charming and inviting. The special grilled peach salad was wonderful. The homemade paccheri with crabmeat with simply out of this world - one of the best pasta dishes that I've ever had. And the chocolate cake was delicious. The service was topnotch and the prices most reasonable. I will return very soon.
Had a lovely dinner outside. The truffle ravioli was amazing, as was a grilled nectarine arugula salad. We love this place!
I have eaten here before and it was always delicious. This must have been a bad night. I had to send back the special of the night veal ravioli. The ravioli was like leather and the filling was tasteless. I tried clams and pasta which was better but way too salty. I like this restaurant and the staff but this was a disappointment.
What a special place for great Italian food
Warm and friendly staff nice wine list and did I mention how wonderful the food is
Looking forward to returning soon
Bravo to all who work there
Luna Rossa has done a nice job with outdoor seating. Lots of flowers and space. The servers were attentive and lovely. The meals were a mixed bag and some things were completely overpriced. The Carciofi all Giudea came with three small artichokes and bore a $17 price tag. Did it taste good, yes, it was delicious, but the pricing is criminal. The sesame crusted salmon was requested medium rare- red inside- and was dry and lacked a true sesame crust. It sat on a pile of unseasoned spinach. The mushroom ravioli and peach salad special, however, were both delicious.
The pricing and inconsistent quality of the meals means we will probably not return. There are too many Italian restaurants better on their game.
A dump indoors. Smelly waiters with slapdash service. Food ambitious, our mealwaokay. Seriously understaffed.
This UES Italian gem is one of the finest Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Finest cuisine. Excellent service. We always enjoy our meals here.
The best kept secret on the UES. Fabulous food and warm friendly service.
Lovely restaurant with excellent food and service on a quiet side street. Will definitely visit again!
My favorite place!
Only one server. Waited almost 11/2 hours for main course.
Really enjoyed everything first time there.
This time food was uneven.
Food was outstanding; there was a table of 6 near our table, very loud in a small space.
It was busy & your pour waiters were trying their best but, I think u are short staffed.
We were hoping for a local experience a little off the beaten path. Luna Ross’s delivered. They had sold out of two specials by 7:30 in a restaurant only half filled. Other than that, it was a solid evening and a great time.
great neighborhood restaurant; food always fresh and wait staff very professional but also warm and friendly.
Wonderful staff and the quality and taste of food was amazing.
A delightful restaurant with great food and warm, friendly service.
Luna Rossa has earned its reputation as the best Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side. My family has been enjoying their cuisine since it arrived in the neighborhood over 10 years ago. It has been a very welcome neighbor.
The menu is exceptional, with new offerings on a regular basis. The chef/owner
has deep background with Italian cuisine, and surprises us with new, creative ideas.
The staff could not be more welcoming... Most have been with the restaurant since it opened. They could not be more accommodating.
Their pastas are exceptional, as are their the sea foods, veal dishes, and delicious seasonal salads. The chef has welcomed requests.
Their new outside space has been a great addition to the ambience of the whole neighborhood, and is particularly pleasant for lunch.
We have recommended Luna Rossa Ristorante to many grateful friends.
This restaurant consistently delivers wonderful food and service.
Nice place, recommend. We will be back
We loved the service of our wait staff. Victoria was so enthusiastic, gave us great recommendations and just delightful! The food was awesome and just a lovely experience! Thank you
Great food & service! UES gem!!
Great to have chosen this place for catching up with friends. Great service and good food!
Very relaxing place with good food and service. We will be back.
Love this restaurant. A little piece of Italy on the upper east side. Consistently great food and service.
Great food, service and atmophere. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was very good. Service below par, waited 25 minutes for a menu. Then told there were not enough menus available. Waiter served main course across me instead of walking beside the intended guest and then serving her. Waiter was not easy to find when needed.
This is a hidden neighborhood gem! Lovely dining experience
Delicious dinner!! Soft shell crab was yummy!!
