Overall the experience was good until we received the check that contained two errors (in favor of the restaurant). We had it corrected, but it came back wrong again, we had it corrected a second time, and it was still wrong. The waiter was very apologetic, but that should not have happened ...... the last error, I took out of the tip rather than waste time again!
Wonderful gem on the upper east side. Lovely food and good service.
the menu on line is different from the one at the restaurant, prices have gone up in the past year, so the value has gone down. waiters are very nice but very rigid when you ask them about some dishes that appear on the on line but not at the restaurant
Wonderful local restaurant. Friendly service. Excellent food.
My husband and I took a relative there for his birthday. We love the location and the service at Luna Rossa. The place is a little too cozy for my liking, but they make it work. We were all pleased with our meal, but I wouldn't order the braised lamb shank again. It was a little too fatty and lacked flavor. My husband's pasta and our guest's bouillabaisse was excellent. All in all, it was a good experience.
Wonderful service & atmosphere. Food is outstanding!
We enjoyed our dinner. The food was good but the service was uneven. We had to ask for butter and olive oil for our bread. My husband needed additional cutlery. It was difficult to get our waiter’s attention - it was very frustrating.
Inventive northern Italian menu ...well-executed and delicious! They are happy to accommodate all requests and the service is seamless. Great dinner!
Don't want to tell too many people. Real authentic Italian restaurant.
Great food. Good value. As good as any top-tier NYC restaurant.
Wonderful evening, never disappoints, unusual and delicious specials.
Great biscotti at the end. Nice finishing touch. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Always great food and friendly service a neighborhood gem!!!!
Food was very good. Restaurant was crowded and service so-so.
I took my boyfriend out here for his birthday because he wanted to try this place. It’s very cute, was very peacefully quiet, the server George was extremely polite and attentive, and the food was fantastic. I loved the beef carpaccio and the eggplant pasta dish. I didn’t love the veal scallopini, but I’m just not a veal person, and the fig tart for dessert was delicious. They even put a candle in it for my boyfriends birthday and sang. We had a lovely evening. I only had one complaint which is why I give 4 instead of 5 stars - they severely cater to their regulars. I asked A MONTH IN ADVANCE for the front window seat because it was cute and romantic, and they gave it to a couple that was most definitely one of their regular clients, and they were sitting in it when I arrived and taking their sweet time. They then proceeded to book “their table” for tomorrow same time. It was really not okay - I don’t care how often you eat there, I asked for that table well in advance and I’m a paying customer just the same. Playing favorites is not acceptable, and I will remember that and be sure to tell other people that this restaurant plays serious favorites. So shame on you, Luna Rossa.
DELICIOUS. tune appetizer was outrageously good. wonderfully tender and tasty lemon chicken entrée was nicely done and well accompanied by just the right amount of perfectly cooked veggies and potatoes. 2 of the other members of my party of 4 raved about their dishes (branzino, pasta), but the salmon, ordered at medium, was over cooked and dry (it happens). Tartufo shared was just the perfect ending. Love coming back.
It was a quiet evening with few people dining. The service was very good. Food was very good, with average portion size for Manhattan.
Superb meal and ambience as always!
Really a neighborhood gem. Attentive (but not overbearing) service, excellent food, not too noisy, even when full.
We had high expectations for Luna Rosa, as it had such a high rating on Open Table. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. Food was good, not great & service ok. We think a bit over rated.
This was an unfortunate experience. The food which had always been really good, was mediocre. Also, in an already noisy venue, the waiters were making extra noise by yelling across the room at each other. Not a good meal, noisy and pricy spells no more visits.
Awesome atmosphere. Delicious food. Great service.
A must for Italian when visiting New York! Cozy little neighborhood restaurant with great food and great service.
As restaurants go, Luna Rosa is 5 stars and it is still reminiscent of a neighborhood restaurant. This is a delicious food restaurant. The folks that work here are delightful. Love the food. Highly recommend it. You'll want to go again and again.
Great neighborhood restaurant with good food and nice service.
Really outstanding quality of food, service and ambiance. Look forward to our next meal there and would recommend this restaurant to others.
This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant (we have a pied a terre nearby). Its tiny and intimate, and that’s what we like about it. The staff is lovely and always accommodating to our special requests. Visitors to the Met may want to walk the four or so blocks to the restaurant and enjoy the local ambiance of this special spot. It’s between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on the uptown side of East 85th Street. Make reservations as this place is TINY!
We love this restaurant and eat here often and always recommend it. Food is consistently high quality and delicious
FOOD WAS WONDERFUL, SERVICE WAS AMAZING, PRICING WAS REASONABLE.
Food, service, ambience....everything was wonderful!
This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good, the service is excellent. And for once you can have a peaceful dinner without loud music in the background. Try the artichokes, the linguini with vongole, the grey sole, it's all so well done.
Like eating in your italian grandmas living room.
We always have wonderful meals at Luna Rossa. The food is unique, fresh, and well-prepared, and the service is lovely.
Solid neighborhood restaurant with delicious food. Service was a tad slow but acceptable. Prices seemed a little high -- $200 for 2 entrees, 1 salad, 1 appetizer, 1 dessert, 1 cheaper bottle of wine. Would go back when around the area. Lots of long time customers.
We both found the salads to be fresh with a light but very flavor-filled dressing. The rabbit ravioli was incredibly good as was the sole over sautéed spinach. We both ate every bite. I found the sorbets to be
a refreshing dessert and my colleague loved the chocolate cake.
Food was amazing .... just need to stick up on Aperol!
Waiters attentive and responsive when asked to switch tables due to location. Very charming and pleasant atmosphere. Great menu and excellent quality.
Is truly one of my favorite Italian food restaurant in New York !!! Is not fancy but the flavor of each dish is incredible!!!
Pricey but delicious food and good service. Not too loud and fairly comfortable. Recommended!
Our “go to “ neighborhood restaurant.......never disappoints.
Accommodated a large party and everything was great.
