Luna Blu Ratings and Reviews
This place needs a makeover. Thought I going to a nice restaurant for lunch but was disappointed. No parking, I had on a casual outfit and felt way overdressed. Food was ok. I had salad(it was blah) dressing had no taste. The shrimp risotto only had 3 shrimp and lacked flavor. My husband had a chicken sandwich in which he said he liked. It’s not the worst place ever since his food experience was much better than my experience but Probably won’t go back.
After a larger, noisy restaurant the night before with disappointing food, it was great to find Luna Blu. We received a friendly greeting from the owner on arrival and she also was our server during the meal. The restaurant is very nice and also on the quiet side which was great for conversation. The menu offered many options and the food was all fantastic.
The food has been phenomenal on both occasions we have eaten here. The wine list is quite extensive, the choices we’ve made have been very tasty. Erin is quite the server, and quite the gracious hostess (as well as the owner) and remembered us (and our wine choice) from our only other visit. The dessert options are excellent and the Port is so good. All in all great experience, highly recommend Luna Blu
A great Valentine's Day menu made for a great Valentine's Day. Kudos to Erin for a wonderful prix fixe menu with some gems like the lollipop lamb chop appetizer and the osso bucco enter was excellent. And, still offering Wednesday night half price wine choices... What a combination.
All four of us had different appetizers and main courses, and we enjoyed every one. Erin’s service and advice was excellent, and she had the chef modify the risotto special for one of us. The lack of noise was wonderful. No ever had to raise their voice. We will return.
We really enjoyed our dinners at LUNA BLUE. The service was prompt and very helpful and the food was wonderful!! I had the four course special and everything that I ordered was wonderful, but it was too much food, so I probably won’t do that again.
MJ wife had the stuffed Australian sea bass and it was wonderful too! Very nice atmosphere; convenient lot parking garage immediately behind, attentive-knowledgeable-responsive servers and great food!
The usual friendly and attentive service with great food. Appetizers during the hour-long, half price window were amazing. The exceptional value of this deal was only exceeded by the fine quality of the baked brie, the mussels and clams, and the scallop appetizers. The main courses (we had the lamb special and the pasta ragu) were large and delicious. My ragu was augmented with mushrooms at my request and my brother's had added sausage. Both added ingredients were of very generous portions. As always, the bread prepared specifically for our table, was hot and delicious. The flavored olive oil on the table made a wonderful dip for it.
Transplant this dining experience into a fancy dining room and expect to pay at least double the prices. As it is, cloth table cloths, fine service, and great food at such reasonable prices compensate the diner for the lack of overt atmosphere.
We ate before a show at Rams Head Annapolis. We opted for the special that included appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. The food was good with the exception of our friends chicken piccata. She complained of too much salt in her dish. The server replaced her dish. We were encouraged to go back to the restaurant after the show for dessert. The show ran late and the restaurant was closed so no dessert.
Really fine Italian food. Many weeknights have special pricing for hors d'oeuvres making getting a wide sampling from the kitchen easy. Monday nights are also 1/2 price wine. Hors d'oeveres are wonderful and varied; any palate will find some things that are tasty beyond the norm. For an entree, I love the pasta al ragu: perfectly cooked pasta and a wonderful, meaty sauce. Others with whom I have dined have had some of the fish offerings that have played to rave reviews. Reservations are likely needed as I have seen people turned away due to the small dining room being booked by others. Staff is personable, helpful, and cheerful. Worth a try; you'll go back for more.
We enjoyed this lovely, small restaurant. On Christmas Eve, the place was completely booked, including several large parties, but service was still excellent and well-paced. We did not do their special dinner for 2, opting instead for three appetizers (one was my entree) and one pasta dish. We both liked the green tomatoes appetizer (with the tomato sauce, the dish reminded me of eggplant parm), and I loved my scallops with delicious polenta. My husband liked the calamari, but I didn't care for the balsamic sauce (personal preference). He loved his spicy pasta arrabiata (too spicy for me). The only quibble I had is that my cocktail was served in a metal cup -- to me, that was offputing. However, we will definitely return.
Food was great!!! We felt the restaurant was too small for the number of tables and party sizes (6+a a couple tables). We couldn’t get in or out of our table without making the folks at the table next to us get up; other than that, it was a fantastic neighborhood gem!
Service mediocre slow, food marginal crab bruschetta was pastee and tasteless served on a dinner roll, Caesar salad with no dressing, no reggiano or Parmesan shavings and lettuce at room temperature. It took 60 minutes and time expire for our theatre tickets.
We are fans of this spot in Annapolis in the biggest way. We have never had a sub-par or underwhelming meal!
We started out dinner with the baked Brie wrapped in a pastry shell on a bed of baby spinach with balsamic vinegar soaked strawberries. Totally awesome and worth the 15 minute wait! While waiting, we were served fresh baked bread and a spicy olive oil for dipping.
My entree’, veal piccata was done in the classic style of butter lemon and capers. Veal was very tender and not over floured. Very very good.
My wife had the tri color tortilini with Italian sausage, tomatoes mushrooms and a Romano cheese sauce. Absolutely delicious!
We each chose the featured wines, an Italian Pinot Grigio and the Spanish Pinot noir. Both were reasonable priced and excellent choices. Hard to find a good 8 or 9 dollar glass or wine!
Our dessert was a classic Luna Blu creation; terimisu. Luna Blu serves theirs with a sprinkling of cocoa powder that complements the entire dish.
Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes-like the rockfish or shrimp scampi.
Luna Blu is one of my all time favorites in the Annapolis area. The food is always amazing! I have eaten here frequently and have never had a bad meal! I love that the restaurant is very small, intimate and welcoming. The staff is amazing! I have always been greeted with smiles and professionalism. I would recommend this gem to all!
