One of our regular stops in a city full of great restaurants.
This was our first visit to the restaurant and it will be not be our last! Wonderful staff loved our lunch date
Awesome food and service, Jessica was wonderful
Our table was sprinkled with rose petals for our anniversary which made this special place extra special!
Fine dining (non-ethnic) worthy of any big city. General American-European menu, well-presented and well-served. Very reasonable prices for the quality.
Perfect , quiet elegant perfect service
The food was great, we had the sea bass, and the filet minion. Food was cooked to perfection, and the margaritas were very refreshing. Our waitress Jessica made good suggestions and provided excellent service. We will definitely go back and try different items on the menu.
We don't usually think of Luminaria as a "go to" place, yet every time we have been, it has been wonderful. Cozy booths, good service. The only reason I didn't rate the food higher was that we all ordered egg dishes "over medium" and they actually were cooked hard, no yolk at all. The server didn't really notice and as we didn't say anything, didn't ask. Beautiful plating and presentation. Summer months is great to eat outside on the covered patio. All in all, always a good experience in some way.
Excellent food and service! Loved it, will be back.
We went for restaurant week but have been here other times too. The food was delicious, sea bass with spinach and a filet with potatoes. Scallop for an appetizer and tres leches cake and chocolate mousse for dessert. Presentation was great as always.
Fabulous place. Been in Santa Fe for many years and never tried it. Will be going back often. The food was terrific; the young woman who served us was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing.
Went for restaurant week and it was such an amazing value for the fantastic meal and experience. The cioppino starter was so hearty I couldn’t believe it was just the appetizer, with half a lobster tail, shrimp, mussels, and a beautifully spicy broth. Three of us had different entrees and we usually decide who won the night.. but all three were to die for (mini filet, sea bass, adobo pork)! Mango creme brûlée won the dessert for me :) I will absolutely be coming here for more special occasions!
The filet mignon was probably the best piece of meat I ever ate.
We sat there for 10 minuets and no one came to take our drink order even. We looked around, no one had food on their tables, drinks finished and no servers on sight so we decided to leave. If they are trying to charge that much for food, they better have great service first.
Chairs were a little uncomfortable for a shorter person. Was there for restaurant week menu and We started with the sea scallop, was not the best, two plates we plated different , the taste was not a sweet as other sea scallops I had in the past. But the filet was cooked perfect also the sea bass was cooked perfect. It was a very good overall.
Highly recommend Luminaria. Creative cuisine, excellently prepared and beautifully presented.
This is just one of our go to places. The bread basket is amazing. My husband had the best filet he’s ever had. Love the atmosphere
This was an incredible dining experience. The staff was super friendly and the service was wonderful. We are during Santa Fe’s Restaurant Week, so not only was the food delicious but very affordable. Would definitely eat here again!
Filet was amazing. Chipotle seafood broth was very good!
Fabulous food and service for restaurant week. Menu was excellent and everything was well prepared. Pork was a bit overdone for our taste but delicious.
My husband and I went to Luminaria during Restaurant Week.
The food was delicious and was well presented The service was impeccable. The wait staff never hovered but sensed when attention was needed. We highly recommend Luminaria.
Chef didn’t know what “medium well” meant. We asked for medium well and received rare. The meal was sent back twice. He finally butterflied the steak and left other items off the plate.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends! Thank you for the excellent service, great cuisine and exceptional desserts!
WE went on a Sunday for lunch but they only serve brunch, mostly egg dishes. We each had
a hamburger which came with french fries. Food was good, served hot but we we really were
looking for a lighter more creative experience.
Once again Luminaria provided us with a great meal and excellent service. We enjoyed a quiet corner where we could have an easy conversation though noise would have been moderate on an evening when they were busy. The Blue Corn "Steak and Enchiladas" filet mignon was an interesting combination--perfectly cooked filet and the Enchiladas added a nice New Mexican touch. The sea bass and jumbo scallop dinners were also perfect.
Tomatoe soup was amazing. Seabass was okay. Could of used a glaze or seasoning. Great wine list and outstanding service.
This was a great find! Searched for a place I thought I had not been to before (realized I had before years ago when I had stayed at the Inn at Loretta. This place will not disappoint. One of the best meals I have had recently. Pork Belly starter and Lamb chops entree were incredible (served with green Chile grits and sugar snap peas!! I will have to go back!! Oh, and the Service was great!!
Excellent dinner with great menu options. Very Nice server.
Delicious meal - from cocktails, bread basket, soups, salads, entrees to desserts. Juan was excellent. Service top notch. Perfectly seasoned food. A real treat.
Food was delicious! Waitstaff was very pleasant and courteous however the service was extremely slow and there weren’t many customers. Aside from the slow service a very enjoyable meal!
Great food - the Colorado lamb was A-MAZING! Great service too!
We went with friends for New Year's Eve and it was perfect, from the food to the service, it was relaxed and the noise level if always tolerable.
The restaurant is always very enjoyable for every meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
New Years Eve Dinner and birthday dinner. Set menu for evening did mot include a drink. Started off well with apps, but steak was overly charred entire dish overwhelmed. Sea Bass was cooked well but polenta was runny with frozen veggies on top. Desserts ok, chocolate trio was dry.
As a Santa Fe resident, the Lumanaria is our top pick for special occasions. Food and service are consistently good and the wine list is excellent. Highly recommended
Food took forever to come out. When my steak arrived it was way undercooked. I felt sorry for our server trying to make excuses for the kitchen.
We had Christmas brunch there last year (2016). It was great, so we went back again this year. It was a totally different experience. The difference was so extreme, we can only assume it has had a drastic change in management.
We had to wait 50 minutes for the food. It's not like it's a big place with 50-100 people to serve. It's pretty small. Add to that we didn't get the food on the menu we wanted. They were out of that... Nor did we end up ordering food that takes awhile to prepare. My wife had a salad and I ordered an omelet...
The food was just okay. The Caesar salad came with dressing laced with some sort of red chili pepper. Typical around here... Anyway, she asked if she could just have regular Caesar dressing. No, of course not... What restaurant serving Caesar salad doesn't have Caesar dressing???
Last year there was a dessert buffet. There wasn't one this year. They had a few offerings for dessert, but at that point we were afraid if we ordered something, we'd have to wait another hour for it. It just wasn't worth it.
On the way out, I wanted an Irish Coffee, so we went into the bar. Big mistake. It was as bad as the restaurant. Again, the place wasn't busy. There were maybe 5 people in there, including us. We waited to order, waited for the drink, and by the time we were ready to pay up and leave, the people who worked behind the bar had simply disappeared. Finally, someone materialized, and I asked for the check. The guy told us that was a no-can-do because I hadn't ordered the drink from him. We would just have to wait until the guy I ordered the drink from returned. It took awhile, just like everything else in this place.
Next year we'll have to find somewhere else to eat. Virtually anyplace would be better than this.
Everything on the menu is excellent.
Menu selections offered a wide range of dining options. Food was outstanding, as was the service. Service maybe a little too quick between courses, as we had not finished our starters before our entrees arrived. Would have enjoyed a more leisurely service where we could relax.
Weekend in Santa Fe for Christmas, diners sat very close for no apparent reason, plenty of other tables available
Sadly disappointing for such a beautiful venue to have some real food issues.
The French fries looked wonderful, but the oil they were cooked in needed changing.
The grill also needed cleaning to remove garlic flavor on bread for a simple BLT.
Fortunately there is always Alka Seltzer , but when you are paying that much money for a holiday lunch, the restaurant needs to nail it first time, every time!!!
