Our server Jeannie was wonderful! The filet melted in our mouth's. AMAZING!
Great food and service. Not too noisy given number of dinners. Typical Sunday night crowd.
Would go back again.
Great location to walk to the beach or the Pageant of the Masters. Nice selection with something for everyone. Service was slow. Overall a good place for lunch and dinner
Food is just ok, unfortunately, nothing special. Good menu selection, however, nothing tasted extraordinary EXCEPT for the cornbread. But how can you mess up cornbread?
Our party had a couple of the pasta dishes, they were average tasting. Seared tuna entree was a little above average. BBQ ribs had way too much sauce. For the price there are many other restaurants in Laguna Beach that are much better (i.e. Nicks, Zinc, White House).
Food was delicious and servers were friendly. We love visiting when the Pageant of the Masters show is happening. The location is walking distance from the Pageant. Definitely would recommend !
Great mojitos and filet mignon.
Always such good food and fun place to go out for the evening.
Fantastic ambience. Eclectic live band in the bar area. Great food. Great service by our waiter Chad!
All was very good, and our waitress (pronounced Kay-mana) was exceptionally great!
The waitress was very accommodating making a switch from fries to coleslaw, as requested. The ribs were fall off the bone as stated in the menu and were excellent. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but were seated right away.
Great food. Comfortable space. Something for everyone.
We had a reservation which was on record and were taken right to our table. The service was good and our food was excellent and hot! We decided to have coffee after the bill had come and the server comped us.
Laguna favorite! Especially for the pageant proximity. Yummy food, the scallops were amazing, nice wine, beautiful patio setting, we'll be back!
We brought our kids to Lumberyard and walked to The Pageant of the Masters afterward. Our waiter was attentive of our schedule and knowledgeable about the menu.
They reporte me as not being there but I was checked in and told the twice that I had made my reservation on open table. The waitress even checked later in evening
We were promptly seated at our table upon arriving for dinner. I ordered the ribs and they were amazing! Portion size was adequate and price point was reasonable. Overall ambiance of the dining area was warm and inviting. We were able to carry on a conversation and hear one another. I highly recommend a dinner here before a night at the Pageant or shopping in the downtown district. We definitely will return in the future.
The food was great steak cooked to perfection and don’t miss the parmesan filet of sole.
Delicious food, drink! Courteous, efficient service! Definitely a great place!
My wife and I had an Anniversary dinner that was spectacular! The restaurant was full, we were seated and waited upon quickly, but not rushed or hurried. Our dinner was served at the right temperature…not cooled down or too hot. Would definitely return for another night out.
I would recommend this restaurant only if they were going to pageant of the Masters. The beef stroganoff was way too salty, and the dessert we wanted was not available (sorbet), and although the Reese's peanut butter cup pie was recommended by our waiter, it was way too rich. Overall everything was fine, however I won’t go back unless I am attending the pageant or festival of the arts.
Great ambiance and food!
Very, very loud. Sit outside if you can to avoid the noise. Service was excellent. Jeannie (wait staff and bar tender) is phenomenal. Food was good.
Great dinner--great staff
Will come again for sure.
The Lumberyard was close to the Laguna Playhouse where we attended a matinee. The restaurant
saved a table for us as one of our party has problems walking and it is easier for her to be seated
at a table. The service and the food were excellent.
It's OK-not my favorite menu but adequate and is very well located.
Kristina was great and added her special touch to our evening.
The halibut was very fresh!! The beef stroganoff was also very tasty. Rather noisy inside, we prefer to sit on the patio. Many great tasting dishes here!
We were going to the Dress Rehearsal for the Pageant of the Masters and have eaten at the Lumberyard on previous visits to the Masters. My son in law and brother in law last time had the ribs and I wanted to try those and they were delicious. My hubby had the salmon and it was also very good. Great proximity to the Masters and pleasant place to have dinner beforehand.
Always great Cedar Plank Wild Salmon... service great and restaurant always clean and a good vibe!
As always, The Lumberyard is the perfect spot to meet friends and get together in Laguna Beach. We had a delightful evening and enjoyed a delicious meal.
Nice and close to the Laguna Playhouse - which is the main reason we went. Overall good food and service for the price. A bit to noisy which made conversation difficult. Would probably go back before another play .
Everything was great! Thank you! We had a group of 13 and the service was excellent!
The arrival experience was less than friendly. Yes, we had a reservation. Yes, we were on time. No, the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time of our arrival. About 8 people at the bar. Some scattered guests throughout the restaurant.
After being seated we waited about 10 minutes before anyone even touched the table. We definitely made sure we ordered everything at that moment as it made us skeptical on service.
When appetizers were dropped, additional request was made and never materialized. It wasn't until after the entrée were dropped that the request had been placed a second time & fulfilled.
Service did not make its way back to the table often enough to refill beverages or check on quality of food.
Always accommodating , friendly atmosphere, severs seems truly happy to wait on you. Small lunch menu but all items are delicious. Great drink menu.
Three of us had lunch, and all our entrées were excellent. We had a cobb salad, the south western bowl the soup and sandwich special. We have rediscovered the Lumberyard for lunch.
Very expensive, not great food and very very loud!!
I highly recommend this restaurant. What could have been a very bad experience turned into an extremely enjoyable one. We had reservations later in the morning on Fathers' Day. Unfortunately, tables were not turning over very quickly so we ended waiting at the bar. To start, the bartender was exceptionally pleasant and attentive. As our wait lasted, the hostess was very diligent to keep us informed and was very apologetic. We ended staying a bar a while longer and were constantly attended to by the bartender, hostess and finally the Manager. All worked to ensure our wait was as pleasant as it could be and that we were well taken care of.
In the end, we got sat and had a fantastic meal. The waitress was very good and we received further visits from both the hostess and Manager to make sure everything was alright and to apologize for wait. I honestly do not remember the last time I received this level of attention and concern from a restaurant staff. Unparalleled.
Bottomline: This remains one of favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach - highly recommend it for great staff, food and service. You'll definitely enjoy your visit.
Very energetic and noisy place. Food was very good but took a long time to get to us. I assumed that everyone going to the 7:30 showed up just as we did, and the server did the best she could to hurry us along.
I think the food at the Lumberyard has gotten much better over the years. I had a fantastic salmon. Others in our party had the fillet mignon and New York steak which were absolutely fantastic. Best of all was the apple and mango crumble served à la mode for dessert. This is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!
