Overall it was a nice meal. Two of our party ordered the new grain bowl. Which was way too heavy on the grains. One bowl had enough grains to feed a party of 4. The refills on the iced tea we ordered was very slow. The meatloaf was very good and the French onion soup was the highlight of the meal to me.
Cozy, great atmosphere, great service and great food and we love it
Love the food, the atmosphere, everything about this restaurant!!! Fit for foodies. GO
Fun casual local restaurant with wide selection of food. Big bar area as well with TVs etc- live music on Friday night
What a wonderful way to send off our registrar of 15 years! I would highly recommend lumberyard for any special occasion!
Always enjoy the Lumberyard. Great food. The only issue was letting the diners children run around and sit on the floor and scream. Not enjoyable at all. We had to move because the management failed to make sure the parents were made responsible. For their children’s behavior. It wasn’t like we were at McDonalds.
Have been to Lumberyard numerous times. This time was very disappointing. Service was abysmal.
Always enjoy The Lumberyard. Service is outstanding and drink pours are excellent. We had a large group and there was no problem accommodating our party. They also went out of their way to do separate checks for the group, within reason. Whatever your reason for dining out The Lumberyard is worth your consideration.
We love the Lumberyard. Great value every time. Highly recommend it. .
Excellent food (as always), excellent service (as always), we wish they could do something to improve the noise level. It gets pretty loud but this will not stop us from coming back because it is sooo good!
The Lumberyard is our amazing go-to place here in Laguna.
Never fails to please.
We sat on the patio...very noisy inside. Go at happy hour and fill up on appetizers.
Been many times and it’s always good!! Went today again for my bday and they gave me w very thoughtful card. So awesome!
Pretheater at Laguna Playhouse
The noise level was higher than usual but always enjoy the food both taste and presentation! He
The soy and mustard glazed Salmon is delicious. At lunch time the half a sandwich and half a salad are a wonderful combo. They have an outdoor patio and indoor seating with lots of wood. Very nice.
Party of 6, each person with a different entree all enjoyed their meal.
Best restaurant in Laguna Beach. Classic dark wood booths with a very active bar. High end clientele.
Wonderful food, nice and close to the Laguna PlayHouse and great service. We ALWAYS love our visits to the Lumber Yard! Outdoor patio is a delight on warm evenings. Inside is cozy!
Really good experience - service a little slow but definitely made up for it with food 9/10
I had a great time with my experience at this restaurant the food was very tasty with a friendly serving staff. I would recommend this restaurant to all oof my friends as well I hope to return soon.
Food is always good. Great spot before or after the Laguna Playhouse.
Son and granddaughter flew in from Sacramento on way to tournament, and we met for lunch. The Lumber Yard is such a great central place in Laguna Beach, the food is always good and the service friendly and attentive.
Always excellent food and service. Never disappointed.
Everything was great. I had the peach salad with kale, etc & added grilled chicken to make it a meal. It was great, except the peaches (which made me excited when I saw this on the menu), were just about tasteless. I didn’t complain & the waiter actually never asked how everything was at the end, or I might have mentioned it. Everything else was great!
We were a group of 7 and only two of the plates were halfway descent tasting. The penne pasta plate was good minus the chicken. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The chicken pot pie was descent minus the chicken again. Same problem, it was dry and over cooked. The menu said it was rotisserie chicken. If it was they need to find a new rotisserie or start buying it at Costco. Everyone else had burgers and everyone said it was dry. The cheeseburger didn’t even come with anything. It was just bun, cheese and a dry patty. On top of all that the service sucked. The waitress acted like she had better things to do and we were bothering her to take our order. Never did she check on us after we received our meals. Then we find out they included her tip in our check. Never again! All these reviews must be fake.
Always good food & service, been going there for years
Food was OK, not great, seemed over-priced. Ribs were overcooked, not much meat. Salmon was good.
Ambiance might have been more lively near the bar or later in the evening (we got there at 6 pm on Thurday).
We have been to The Lumberyard in the past and have always enjoyed it. However this time the food was not good at all. My dinner was over cooked and burned, the vegetables were clearly not fresh but reheated and it was difficult to even cut through both the Parmesan Crusted Sole and the vegetables even with the steak knife that came with it (perhaps they knew it would be difficult because who supplies a steak knife with a fish meal?)
My husband ordered the salmon dish and it was overloaded with cream sauce to the point of overkill. There were more potatoes than vegetables .
We were just sorely disappointed from how we remembered it in the past. We will not be going back again.
Great restaurant for lunch in crowded Laguna. I was unaware that there’s parking behind the restaurant in a garage.
The French onion soup is excellent
Server was not attentive and placed wrong order. Meal then was not cooked to order.
They need valet service - finding a parking spot really put a damper on the evening. I had the cheeseburger - it was dry😟
Closing night of Pageant of the Masters would be the busiest at this restaurant which is steps from the Festval of Arts & Pageant venue. With that anticipation, high staffing should have been the plan at Lumberyard. While our party of six enjoyed a 5-Star prompt seating and a fine table, the rest of the meal was a disappointment. A "medium-well" clearly requested order was presented "rare." Yes, it returned to the kitchen and was regrilled. The spinach side was lovely, but it needed butter -- oh my, the challenge to request butter. And, no water was refilled until we tracked down staff. There was no offer for dessert nor coffee. Maybe they wanted to turn the table. It felt that way. It would have been a nice extra for the Lumberyard staff to be aware of the Pageant's start time, and to be aware when a table of guests (actually 90% of those in the room!) who are on their way there, at this point in the evening, are NOT in a rush and have plenty of time to enjoy a meal, dessert, coffee. The location of the Lumberyard is too perfect next to the Irvine Bowl so it can get away with being "average" in everything else -- until the summer season ends and "average" is insufficient and embarrassing.
comfy, great food, and drinks. Perfect right before a show!
The food was very good. Seating okay but flies were an extreme nuisance. Staff not around to handle that situation and it seemed we could not be moved to another table.
Good food and a wonderful experience for all. The cobbler was delicious!! Great decor and nice outdoor seating as well.
Lovely place for lunch. The food was delicious, portions were good and the service was great
There we six of us and everyone absolutely loved there meal. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Everything was great!
Lovely patio, yummy food, good service, go to spot in Laguna!
Super yummy with great service
Another great dinner before Pageant of the Masters. Make sure you make a reservation. So many just show up and get frustrated with the 45-60 minute wait
