Warm and inviting, Luma’s dining room and bar are designed with rich woods, leather and stone, and the cozy lounge is filled with plush sofas and eye-catching artwork. Luma’s second floor location in the TIFF Bell Lightbox and its floor-to-ceiling windows offer outstanding views of King Street West and the downtown action.
From 4pm to 9pm, join us for $6 drink features in the Luma lounge, including flavoured martinis, Manhattans and Grolsch (Note: Magic Hour will not be available from September 6 - 17)
Waited long to be seated, ended up seating ourselves. Told our server we had an open table reservation but they neglected to confirm our reservation, resulted in a email from open table about promptness and how it affects the restaurant.. service was poor. Do not recommend as this was our second poor experience here. Food/drinks were good, however.
Amazing night! Brought my co-workers and the loved the food! The menu has changed substantially since I first came 5 years ago. It wasn’t too busy on a Friday night and we well- cared by our server. Loved Buck-a-shuck oysters with a bottle of wine. The crab cake appetizer was delicious as well as the grilled octopus for the main. Would highly recommend.
We were 6 friends who haven’t seen each other in 30 years. Upon arrival I checked in with the front desk, and was very warmly greeted and we were escorted to our table and seated. A very nice touch was that the table already had menus set out for each of us.
Service, as usual, was exemplary, and our apps and meals were fantastic.
The restaurant was pretty much empty, except for diners at 3 tables, and our server, Kevin, explained that there were no shows playing this Friday night at the adjacent theatres. On the upside, this meant that we received incredible attention from the entire staff.
Luma has always been consistently outstanding. My wife and I have been here many times, and we were somewhat surprised to see the new menu focused on seafood. But everyone raved about their meals, and I especially loved my halibut fish & chips.
Came for a bday dinner. Meals were delicious, service was fantastic and they even brought some special wine for our celebration. They also noted that a person was gluten-free so the bday dessert they brought was something everyone could enjoy. Looking forward to dining again soon.
It’s the first time I’ve been to Luma since the menu change. Even though I enjoy seafood, I decided to try the Brain Food Salad! It was recommended by manager , Ben, and I have to say it hot everything I was looking for. I ate at the bar and was recommended to try the Green Goddess drink by bartender Fiona. Again, excellent recommendation!!! Completely satisfied diner tonight. Congrats Luma on your changes and congrats to the management and staff tonight for delivering exceptional service. Looking forward to my next visit.
I'm not a vegetarian but I wasn't particularly hungry so I ordered the zucchini spaghetti. It was delicious. The fermented tomatoes combined with fresh tomatoes, olives, fresh peas, watercress and ricotta blended beautifully.
My husband ordered the branzino. The presentation was not the best but he enjoyed it.
For dessert we shared the profiteroles. It was good but very different from profiteroles in Paris.
I'll go back for the zucchini spaghetti.
While I appreciate that it was a busy Saturday evening with summerlicious, the service was unacceptable. We ordered sparkling water for the table, but midway through our meal, the waiter filled our glasses with tap water. I couldn’t flag down any server for a new glass, so I took one from the next table next and filled it with our sparkling water. The waiter then brought another bottle of sparkling water (without asking) and then charged us for 2 sparkling waters. It wasn’t expensive but it’s the principle of it. Luma is one of my favourite restaurants but this experience was terrible. The food itself was great as always.
Worst service I have ever experienced
This was our fourth dinner at Luna - we loved this dinner.
The stuffed squid appetizer was outstanding and so was the Branson’s
We will be back whenever we can afford
Efficient and friendly service. Delicious food. Beautiful vantage point overlooking King West. All in all a lovely meal before our film at TIFF Lightbox.
Convenient mid-upscale restaurant inside Bell Lightbox cinema. Summerlicious lunch menu was OK, but not as good as other lunches I have had there.
Some of us enjoy some of our food more than others and the service was great. However it took a long time to get our food given that the courses were ordered in one go.
Very nice food and convenient location, modern and relaxing ambience (a bit noise but not disturbing at all)
Indifferent/Poor Service, Ok Food
I have been to Luma a few times. The food is usually good and I like the view/location. On this occasion, I was hosting two people who were visiting Toronto. The greeting at the reception desk was luke warm. Although there were open booths along the window, we were directed to sit at a centre table until we asked to be moved to a nicer table. The server took too long to do everything. He did not smile. He did not return to ask how our meals were. If he had, I would have mentioned that my Summerlicious Zucchini Spaghetti, while delicious, was barely warm. I had to ask another server for the server to come to our table because he disappeared until well after our meals were finished. I had to ask for the bill. He forgot an iced coffee that one of my guests ordered. I won't hurry back.
I went with a group of girlfriends for our annual summerlicious outing. I have always enjoyed Luma, love the location and the ambiance. The food is good, is it the best meal I have ever had in my life NO is it the worse NO. It is good food, good service and consistent.
no complain on noice level.its great
amazing food ...excellent..I recommended to my friends
I went for a summerlicious lunch with my partner. We sat on the patio overlooking Toronto's busy King Street. The service was courteous but warm. The drinks were unique and delicious. The plates were as delicious as they were beautiful. Best gazpacho I've had in the city and abroad. Also recommend the burnt honey mustard and coconut panna cotta. 5/5.
The waitress was not very knowledgable on the food she told us A profiterole is a donut when it came to be more of a cream puff (which was exactly what I wanted but didnt get because of what she said)
Food came very slow and it was unreasonable for the whole meal (lunch) to be from 12:30 to 2:30 when the restaurant was not too busy.
Overall the food was mediocre, the mussels were delicious and very flavourful though the squid could have had a bit more (maybe at least 4-5 pieces). Other than the blunder over the profiterole, the waitress was attentive and came to collect our plates quickly after each course.
The food was above average but the service was lacking. For an higher end place service should be significantly better. Especially given that the restaurant wasn't full
Summerlicious dinner with boyfriend. Great service and ambiance, it did get busier and noisier towards the end of our dinner service like around 7:30-8pm. Food was overall delicious however portion was a bit on small side. Drinks were decent. We also ordered oysters on side which was smaller than we expected but tasted so fresh and yummy. I would recommend this place for a dinner date but not really a group dinner. Be ready to be still hungry afterwards though....
Food was "meh" but service was excellent. It was a Summerlicous menu, so maybe the quality is lower? The menu stated "breast of chicken supreme", but in fact, it was a simple boneless breast.
Our waiter was extremely attentive. Food was above average. A good place to go before movies.
We were the last reservation for the night. The staff were amazing. Even though it was their closing time we weren't rushed at all. The food was great but the attitude of the staff made our experience so much better.
Food was great, staff was not.
After being seating, it took close to 15 minutes for a waitress to come by to offer water or ask for drinks. After we ordered, an entirely new table was sat, served drinks and received their appetizers before ours had arrived.
After the apps had been cleared, it took an additional 15 minutes prior to the entree being served. When I inquired as to the delays, she responded with we are really busy tonight - except the restaurant was less than half full. I was displeased with the service and wouldn’t go back based on that.
The food however was phenomenal, and I’d give a kudos to the chefs for quality !
Amazing service and lovely ambience. Would go back for these two things alone.
Both my friend and I had the Summerlicious menu. Our appetizer was good but both of us had the steak and it was tough and very hard to eat. The profiteroles were soggy.
We did tell the waiter about the meat but we had a show and not enough time to wait for another main course. Disappointed. Music level was too loud for comfortable conversation and we asked if it could be turned down.
Not an inexpensive place so we expected better.
Food was a little salty, and the portion was small. Still loved it though.
Summerlicious is here finally! And Luma served up a gastronomical storm of delight to us 😊
The Stuffed Squid appetizer and Roast Moroccan Chicken Spreme entré were definitely the highlights. I had a Zucchini pasta for entré - very unique and interesting flavors! Luma never disappoints 😍
We when for 60th birthday celebration. When i review the menu the food sound delicacies. The chicken tasted like cardboard and all was so salty , we where disappointed.
Good food. Portions where small. Service was great. Overall you pay for the environment.
Summerlicious program provided an interesting choice of items all of which sounded very good. Very convenient to Mirvish theatres. We dined after a matinee show on their outdoor area and enjoyed good weather (although it rained intermittently), good food and a good waiter. Thought the overall experience was very good and would go again.
The oysters and their Moscato were amazing!
Dinner was good. Service could have been more attentive
Went for summerlicious and the food was great. However, the service was a bit slow given that the restaurant wasn't very busy.
Foods are not attractive as they are supposed to be. Other than that, no complaints.
It’s my birthday dinner and we were seated at the inner corner right by the entrance. After i requested to move to the window seats i was told only table of 4 can sit there. But there are a couple sitting right by the window. I was offered to move to one of the tables but it was in the middle of existing tables. So we stayed where we were to keep the noise level around us low. However, they seated another table right by us shortly after. I didn’t understand, coz there are so many other tables available. Foodwise, We’ve ordered Tuna sashimi, its fresh and flavorful. However, the main course we got steak and whole octopus, plain taste. Nothing special. The truffle fries are actually comparably more delicious. The house made ice cream is great! The only plus during this dinner.
A great restaurant with some neat menu ideas! Service is good, convenient location, pricing a little on the steep side for someone not used to eating in the city!
Food was nothing special. Seafood platter was way overpriced for product served. No crackers or starch with a smoked mousse? Pasta dish lacked flavour. Halibut special was cooked well but boring and lacked flavour.
Food was great. We had a show to attend and they served our food in time. Thank you
All very nice, quick service to get us to our show ontime!
