Warm and inviting, Luma’s dining room and bar are designed with rich woods, leather and stone, and the cozy lounge is filled with plush sofas and eye-catching artwork. Luma’s second floor location in the TIFF Bell Lightbox and its floor-to-ceiling windows offer outstanding views of King Street West and the downtown action.
From 4pm to 9pm, join us for $6 drink features in the Luma lounge, including flavoured martinis, Manhattans and Grolsch (Note: Magic Hour will not be available from September 6 - 17)
Great service, pretty good value, scallop dish needs work.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Fantastic location in the Theater District. Whenever we go to the theater. This is our place to go!
Excellent food. Phenomenal service. We left feeling like it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in years. Go!
Great food and great service. We were out for my wife’s birthday and she loved it. Great location for dinner before the theatre.
This was our first visit to Luma, and it will not be the last! We shared the seafood platter, which was spectacular to look at, and sooo tasty. My daughter, a connoisseur of Caesar salad, raved for days after about Luma’s kale Caesar salad. My salmon was cooked to perfection, and the lobster burger was delicious, according to my husband. Perfect pre-show dinner!
Came here for my bday 2017 and it was great. Got a corner banquette seat as requested. I was pregnant so couldn’t eat a carbonara dish.
This time was not able to be seated at the window but beside a service station. Menu had changed so carbonara that I wanted to try was gone. Shrimp pasta was ok but I make a better version myself. Good wine list. Was moved to the window after the rush but it’s not the same. Didn’t feel as special this year. No bday dessert. Don’t think I’ll pick Luma for bday again.
I've been to this restaurant before and had significantly better experiences than my most recent one. My husband and I took my mother and father in law out for dinner and a show, so, being conveniently located, I chose to go back to Luma. They had new staff and a brand new menu. They need to properly train their new staff - most importantly, the kitchen staff. Our meals came out one by one over the a 20 minute period, so nobody ate a hot meal together. I'm sure these issues can be fixed, but when your meal is $400+, you're looking for a perfect experience. The manager was sympathetic and very professional, and ultimately comped most of our dinner. We appreciated that, but overall the experience was super disappointing.
First time to visit and was not disappointed at all. Venue very comfortable to dine in, had a sense of space and light. Servers were all charming and attentive. Food was delicious (loved the salmon, chowder tasted light and fresh). Would love to come for a second visit. Music was a bit loud for table conversation. Would not hesitate to recommend Luma to a friend.
Food was very disappointing. French were unstable; bad cooking oil I think. Cob salad was much different from our prior visit, and, such there was, also looked off. Desert plate brownie was stale, unable to cut. Very nice dining room and service, but food and limited menu were poor.
Super convenient to reserve online and be so close to the Princess of Wales Theatre. Waiter was very friendly and his presentation of the Specials of the Day was enough to change one of our meal choices. He was attentive enough, not too much and not too little. We did not feel rushed and completed our dinner and were able to make our show in good time. I ordered the seared tuna with a side of fried brussel sprouts and my friend had the red snapper special. We enjoyed them both with a glass of Chardonnay. Very happy with the experience and would visit again.
If you are attending one of the MIRVISH theatres this a VERY convenient place to eat
It is big, bright and comfortable. In our experience the menu varies but it has always been easy to find one or more dishes we want to try and so far we have been fortunate to enjoy each one
Service is OUTSTANDING - Great staff
We will be back again in the future
The food and cocktails were fantastic. Our server did a great job. There was confusion about our table when we first checked in for our reservation. The manager came by to apologize, but we had already been moved to 2 tables at this point. Location is great for the Princess of Wales Theatre.
Would definitely recommend, however chef’s brainstorm is not for everyone.
It was excellent! We look forward to our next visit.
Delightful meal. Excellent service, including advice on wine and amaros. Loved the hot/sour soup, which was very different from the usual.
The food is excellent. The service is also. Nick is awesome. Love going there. Thanks again for a great evening!
This is my second visit and I cant wait to return for my 3rd trip. The food was better than the first time and the service was phenomenal.
A disappointment, especially for an O&B restaurant. Some dishes were great - the sweet and sour soup was a favourite! Some were mediocre at best - especially in the appetizers, and the salads in particular. Service was a real let down. We waited repeatedly throughout the dinner and had to ask other staff to send our server over multiple times. I think there are better choices in the neighbourhood.
Very good meals as usual.
Special of the day was an interesting twist on surf and turf.
Service was helpful and attentive.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely be returning.
My wife and I had been to Luma once before. We didn’t remember too much about it. This time was quite memorable. I especially liked the flank steak, and truffle parmesan fries, although my wife likes them a little thinner. The crispy Brussels sprouts were excellent and the Cobb salad was very good. Overall, the food was flavourful and hot. I was impressed. And the service was attentive. My vodka martini could have been colder and a chilled glass would be a good idea. Great dinner before the Last Ship.
We were in town for the weekend to see a show and picked this restaurant because of location. This was a nice restaurant with a limited menu carefully curated. Extensive wine list but little else to drink and no beer which disappointed my husband. Food was delicious but a little pretentious. If you are a foody you will like it. If you just want good portions of good food that you don't need a dictionary to understand, you might want to choose something else. I enjoyed it, my husband did not.
The service and food were incredible. The menu selections offer something for everyone. Ample portions as well; not too big, not too small.
This place used to be good but both the food and the service went down. Even the table beside us have to leave without even finished their food. Very disappointing.
The two flatiron steaks were extremely tough, and one inedible. The restaurant offered to comp our coffees and dessert, which was very appreciated.
Food was delicious. Girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. Thank you!
Sadly, my previous experiences were good but this time the food was not up to par. My salmon was overdone, tasteless and watery. My wife’s dinner, seared tuna, was rubbery. Not a good Valentines experience. Sorry. At that price it needs to be better.
We had a top server Nicole
The meal came very late from the kitchen
But was taken care of
I've eaten at Luma before. Regrettably, each time I feel the service and atmosphere are wonderful, while the food is disappointing for the price. I ordered the salad appetizer which was baby sized... the striped bass which arrived smelling 'fishy' and could have been cooked a bit longer, accompanied by an eggplant mush which was too sour. I'll think a twice before trying Luma.
Our server Dillon unfortunately ruined our evening. We have dined at Luna before and every time it has been a positive experience.
We were never offered sparkling water - he poured plain water once and never filled our glasses again. We ordered a bottle of the Jump Chardonnay and it was room temperature. He said that’s all they had. He should have suggested another wine that was perhaps chilled. We ordered an appetizer, but never received it. Our main entries arrived and so we had no choice. When Dillon came by he said he’d bring our appetizer to eat with our main course! Too late. My husband’s steak was good. I ordered the trout with no potatoes, but of course I got potatoes. I said something to Dillon and he said oh yeah sorry. Not can I take it back and make it right? Can I bring you some more broccoli on the side? My trout was tasty (I always order it when I’m there), but I couldn’t even cut it. It was such a very thin piece of trout, that I had to scrape the fish off to eat it.
We left feeling like we wasted our money. We just did not have a pleasant dining experience. We felt like we were constantly an afterthought. Not up to O & B standards by any means.
Service was okay. Appetizers were disappointing and entrees were better.
Beef cheeks were awesome. Attentive, friendly service.
Food for Winterlucious was fantastic. Complements to the chef. Some items on the menu sounded somewhat funky and I was not sure if I would want to eat that. However, trout and eggplant salad were a real success, real cuisine as opposed to very salty and extra spicy items proliferating on the menus of different Toronto restaurants, including some O&B, like Canteen downstairs. Even based on my previous experience with Luma, they know how to cook. It was somewhat difficult to attract attention from a waiter, but by and large it was a very good experience. We look forward to return again shortly.
Absolutely fantastic Winterlicious meal! Will return!
This was a fabulous experience from excellent service, to delicious flavours and a beautiful venue! It was most enjoyable!
First time to Luma and had the Winterlicious menu. Great atmosphere but food was just OK, and service was inexperienced and disappointing. There are far better restaurants for comparable price. I would not return.
Winterlious is the best time to explore different offers from many excellent restaurant. Luma is one of the best
We enjoyed a Friday dinner during Winterlicious. I enjoyed the Cherry Snapper and my guest the Beef Cheeks and both were superb. Butternut squash soup was good except that the scallops tasted sour and we removed these from the soup. Our desserts were both excellent. And our server Joel was first class
Went for Winterlicious. Had the roasted eggplant salad, pasta main, and poached pear for dessert. Nothing was outstanding, and the main dish was completely unremarkable. The service was also not great. Our server came, took our orders, was a little pushy, though I can understand they are busy, and did not come back for the rest of the meal. We had to wait about 1/2 hour to get our bills. I also found that our table for 4 was a very small surface for drinks, side plates, etc.
