I was glad we made reservations because the restaurant was packed even on a snow day. The food was fantastic however the restaurant is very loud and hard to carry on a conversation.
terrific brunch and great bloody mary's. Recommend reservations for Sat or Sun brunch. we were seated right away but there was quite a line of pp who just walked in.
Excellent weekend brunch, some of the tastiest brunch food I've had. Excellent cocktails and very generously-sized mimosas. Fun and lively interior but quiet enough to still hear the conversation.
Very good. Our server was energetic and knowledgeable about food!
This was one of my worst dining experiences as far as service goes. The food (brunch) was outstanding. However, I experienced a plethora of issues when dining here. It began with the restaurant initially losing my reservation. Things happen and the manager was very kind, so I was willing to initially let it go. After some time, the manager said he was able to find the reservation on the computer in the back (not in the front though). My group is then sat. It took over 20 minutes before we saw our server. She dropped off waters then, without taking drink orders or asking our table a thing, disappeared for another 20 minutes. We finally get our drink orders, but throughout the meal we had to specifically grab our server's attention to request refills. We also had to specifically tell her, "we would like to order our meals," because she just never asked and was never around our table. When our meals do come out, they randomly decided to throw bacon on my vegetarian friend's sandwich. The sandwich does not even come with bacon -- you need to pay extra to have it added. So it took about 15 more minutes for her sandwich to be replaced. Then, by the end, we request separate checks with the exception of one couple. Our server does some musical chairs with our checks, nonsensically putting items on others' checks. It seemed that she just assigned items to checks at random. We have her correct this and this time she accidentally forgets to charge for most of our drinks -- we kept quiet about this one consolation. In the end, we never once received any kindness or apology. Her response to the bacon on the vegetarian sandwich was "oh." We rushed out of there and barely made it to the meter in time.
Excellent food, but the worst server I have ever experienced. The manager was very kind when I spoke with him before being seated, so I believe my experience may be limited to my server.
Had to wait 20 minutes even with a
Reservation. The people in the booth behind us were loud and obnoxious—-at one point someone screeched at the top of their lungs like it was no big deal....
Extremely busy for brunch, we were seated immediately as we had a a reservation. Food and service were both very good.
Excellent Sunday Brunch. Great Service..... a little noisy for us seniors....but lots of good energy!
Music beats were annoying, in an already crowded and noisey venue. Classical or no music would have been prefererable.
Outstanding! We will go back again to brunch. Two thumbs up!
Food and service is GREAT! Inside is not wheelchair accessible, though. There's a step up to get in & it's tight quarters, especially if busy. If someone is absolutely wheelchair-bound, then you might want to wait for good weather when outside seating is available. But...the food is fantastic and worth the hassle.
The food is amazing, I got the Florentine and would absolutely go back just to eat that again. You need to make a reservation otherwise you stand around waiting for a table. It’s very loud and you can barely hear yourself think.
Brunch at Lulu’s is really great.
LuLu’s was spectacular! We split the red velvet waffles with pecan cream cheese and strawberries 🤤 my boyfriend had the Omelette Florentine - tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and goat cheese with house potatoes and I had a jalapeño Bloody Mary and the Scrambled eggs and lobster biscuit - mushrooms, tomatoes, house-made buttermilk biscuit and hollandaise with house potatoes. This was our first time but we will definitely be back 🙌🏼
Never had egg benedict before and after eating it at LuLu's I am a fan!
Great local brunch spot! Crab Benedict special and their red velvet waffle mainstay are a must!
The waitress was rude from beginning to end and she forgot one person’s meal entirely.
Everything was good except the waitress tried to rush us out because it was busy.
Always love this place, it's just so loud. I could barely hear my friend sitting across from me...but the food is soo good!
Lulu’s food was very good, I had the huevos rancheros and they did not disappoint. Tried a seasonal drink and our waitress was super friendly.
It was a very pleasant experience and food was really good.
Great brunch! Quich service. Wish the food had been hot but still tasty.
I love that they actually stick to the reservation system. We got seated right away in accordance to our time and there was no wait like other places who don't know how to plan. Also the food and serving sizes were amazing.
First of all there were not many people - on a Saturday evening that’s not a great sign. Second the fish offering was inedible- not fresh to the point of nauseating us. The server was pleasant but not attentive and did not know the menu — the open kitchen concept is not working here — the fluorescent lighting made it seem like a highway diner, not a fine dining establishment— needless to say I will not be recommending this restaurant
I visited Lulu's a few years ago and had a terrific experience, ordered the shrimp and grits then and ordered it again at my recent visit. On the recent visit, my grits were undercooked, the meal was missing the hollandaise sauce, but the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The specialty beverages were not very good at all. For the price, I've had better. I doubt I will go back.
Great place for brunch! Our table ordered the hash, Florentine, Atlantic omelette, French toast and huevo rancheros and it was all good. The place was very busy on a Saturday morning though. I was glad we had reservations.
Dined here for Restaurant Week. All of our courses were fantastic. Service was pleasant and moved at a good pace. The gluten-free options were great, especially the flourless chocolate cake. Really enjoyed the wine list.
The entire staff was very friendly, knew the menu and were well dressed. My first time there and absolutely will be back and will be bringing friends.
I had been looking forward to eating the brunch at lulu's for a while. While I missed brunch I was able to enjoy a fantastic 3 course meal for 30 in honor of restaurant week in downtown richmond. Below are pictures of my meal and i can 100% say it was a delish experience and i look foward to returning as a dinner and hopefully for brunch lol
would have liked to sit in the main room with the windows since I had made a reservation, but the back room booths were fine
Had 2 omelets, one crab one lobster and crab. both are both but the one with bacon are crisper and more tasty.
love tropical mimosa, it tastes a little like pina colada
LuLu's never disappoints. We make a pilgrimage every few months. Our dinner was fantastic, the people watching was great. We are glad to have LuLu's in our City.
Great meal - Always Love Restaurant Week! Can't wait till next year.
Great service and excellent food.
Too noisy- made a reservation but still waited 30 minutes - food fine but not worth the wait and noise.
I stumbled upon Lulu's while looking for a good brunch spot since I was going to be in the Richmond area. After asking a few friends who live there, they agreed Lulu's was IT! Okay so...overall it's pretty decent, but finding the joint was crazy. It sits on a little back street in the midst of construction in the area so parking wasn't great..once we got in and confirmed our reservation (as it's reservation only to sit in the main dining area) the hostess at the door was friendly but it took her at least 10 minutes to acknowledge we were there. She was busy doing so many other things. We were seated after about 15 minutes which wasn't bad because it was indeed super crowded, but hey it was Sunday brunch so I took that into consideration. The waitress wasn't really friendly, crass and pushy, suggesting things that I don't eat even after I told her I don't like them or eat them. I didn't care for that. My food came out wrong at first but second time around it was correct. I ordered the scrambled eggs with lobster biscuit and my friend got the fried chicken with red velvet waffles. My food was great! It was the saving grace because I was thinking about not returning. My friend's food was not all that, waffles were dry and lukewarm but chicken was seasoned well and browned to perfection. I would go back again despite the not so good service because my food was good. If you don't mind a loud crowded atmosphere with decent food and kind of poor service then give Lulu's a try.
First time and LuLu's and it won't be our last. The food was incredibly delicious and well presented.
We'd recommend anything on the menu but our favorite were the fried chicken dishes.
Make sure to put in a reservation ahead of time, as this place is busy on the weekends.
Great! The service was excellent and the food was awesome.
Awesome time as always. Food was excellent and their fall brunch drink specials are delicious!!!!
More hype than substance. Dining room was crowded and loud. Server tried as hard as possible under the circumstances. Despite her friendliness, the food was merely passable. l left feeling hungry and having overpaid for a mediocre brunch. However, Whisk (down Main street a few blocks) had delicious pastries!
