Please plan for your entire party to be present at the scheduled time of your reservation. Incomplete or late parties may not be seated.
Honestly, this is the second time this month I have been to LuLu’s for an event and it has been terrible. Every time I am there it is ALWAYS an issue with seating, even with reservations. The hostess were rude! Everyone was unorganized with seating and we were told multiple different stories about our table! And when we tried to go to the bar to get a drink while waiting, we were told no to because “we hadn’t checked in.” The waitress was rude and then we were charged for a cake that we brought. On our way out, staff was over heard saying “thank god.” Completely rude and inappropriate. I will never eat here again and will recommend anyone who wants a decent environment without rude staff not eat here! Never will plan an event her again!
Food was outstanding, service was excellent, drinks we good, awesome breakfast great price. Perfect start to our morning
Server was overwhelmed and the only person covering the back section. It was an average brunch experience.
Except for the noise level, everything was great. Food was terrific, we had a great server and the whole restaurant has a fun vibe.
Very nice and accommodating staff, great food, affordable, and plenty of seating.
Food is always delicious and the waitresses are super nice!
Great place for Sunday Brunch! Delicious food and interesting choices and specials. It's great that they take reservations. I had the Sausage & Pancake special. It was delicious and gluten free with potato pancakes and chicken sausage and two eggs. They also offer yummy libations that my dining partners enjoyed but I was the driver so stuck with coffee. Dining partners enjoyed the chicken taco special and steak and eggs special. The only one not pleased was the one who ordered the corned beef hash because the corned beef chunks were huge and not what was expected. the service was decent especially with the huge crowd they had. Would definitely return for brunch.
Crab Benedict was great!! Try the peach mimosa.
Absolutely amazing! The red velvet waffles were in an article we read as a food you MUST eat in Richmond and I would have to concur! We loved everything that we put into our mouths at Lulus! We will be back!
The server seemed like she was new. It took about 7-13 minutes for minuscule tasks like getting straws and extra napkins. When she provided us with our checkbooks, she just placed them all in the center of the table. She took the lazy way out in not trying to maintain familiarity with her patrons and did that. We ended up figuring it out ourselves and she did the same thing with our cards in them when she returned it. Quite unprofessional. The food, impeccable, the drinks and atmosphere was wondrous..
So I don’t know if we just went on a really bad day or if my waitress was just terrible but I was a tad disappointed by this restaurant. Our food was cold and it took us almost an hour to get our food even though we had reservations for Sunday brunch. My daughter got the chicken and waffles and waffles was good but the chicken was a little hard. My shrimp and grits was cold. My waitress forgot my drinks in the table set maybe 20 minutes after we sat got the food before ours. Honestly I would not come back to this place
Good times. The waitress was okay. A little slow. I don’t like sitting in the back. Boring. Lol.
The huevos rancheros with bacon and guacamole was amazing
I’ve been here a few times and sat at the bar and LOVED IT especially when I’ve had the female bartender usually near the door with the dark hair. But even with a reservation they wouldn’t seat me and my husband until my friends arrived even though the restaurant was basically empty. It was due to this reason that I wasn’t able to get a drink either since I knew I’d be driving a few hours after. After we were seated our server did not greet us for 5-6 min. & she took very long with bringing drinks and also did not bring over water for 1 of our parties the entire time. I recommended lulus for brunch and was not very happy I did so. The food was good, but overall experience was less than impressive, especially with all the variety there is in RVA I probably will not be returning. Unless I sit at the bar.
Finding a place for 6 for brunch on a Saturday was awesome. However, Lulu’s was too loud for us to talk (we were seated under a speaker) and the coffee and Bloody Mary were very watery. The food was good, but I don’t know if we’ll come back.
Good food and nice waitress. Only complaint is as soon as the checks came the hostess asked us to leave to make room for a family. Felt like we were being kicked out.
We visit Lulu’s For breakfast frequently. This trip wasn’t our best experience. The service was fine. We reserved a slot for 11:15. We were seated upon arrival. Service was prompt and our waitress was friendly. Lulu’s Likes to maximize their space, our table was less than 1 foot from the neighboring tables.
The food was delicious as usuall but this time it wasn’t delivered piping hot. My red velvet waffle was a mildly warm and my first bite of potatoes was cold. My GF had the lobster biscuit, that came with potatoes which she also commented were slightly cold.
We will certainly be back as it is one of our favorite brunch spots.
Old brunch favorite in Shockoe. Filled with funky art, old style booths, and friendly wait staff. Dependably good service and food at a very reasonable price. Make reservations if you're going for weekend brunch or plan for a long wait.
I have been going here for years and my last experience was very poor. They did not have our reservation so it was a huge confusion being seated. The waiter keyed in the wrong dish so I had to wait for my correct order. When I got my chicken and biscuit, the chicken was extremely tough. Lulus used to be one of my favorite brunch spots but it definitely has lost its charm.
The red velvet waffles look and taste amazing! The espresso is also good!
Our server was amazing. Great service, great atmosphere and incredible food! Go hungry
Server was horrible didn’t offer us refills and took over 20 mins to bring us the check and take payment !!!!
We waited for over 1 hour plus for our food, which once it arrived was not hot but rather warm. A person in our party asked for no bacon in her omelette and received bacon in it. Another person in the party omelette was poorly mad, the waitress and manager both agreed and the item was remade. The second omelette came to the table with hunks of unmelted cheese stuffed in it which resulted in us asking for waitress for the manager once again. The manager once again agreed that the food was unacceptable. The manager takes off the food from both ticket and offers friend #2 a complementary omelette, which when my friend got home she discovers has hair in it!!! This was all of our first time and I’m sure it was our last!!!!
The food and service at LuLu’s is outstanding. I did wish the sat us at a larger table. We had five and they placed us at a booth with a extra chair on the end — it was a little cramped and uncomfortable.
Much to my HORROR I WILL NOT RETURN!
While waiting to be served, I noticed a grey haired gentlemen standing near the area where the food was being prepped and staged on a metal stand pending pickup by the servers (we were seated at a booth just to the left of this area). This gentleman, dialed his cell phone, wrote with an ink pen and shook the hand of a patron who walked up to greet him. Subsequently, on THREE separate occasions (unfortunately-after we ordered) we witnessed this gentleman stick his fingers into the chaffing server (where the food was being kept warm) then into his mouth to taste it! I asked our server who the gray haired gentleman was, and it was the OWNER of LuLu's! This indeed may go on in restaurants, but seeing it live and in person turned my stomach!
Our first time. Recommended by family who lives in Richmond. Was in back room that definitely seemed more quiet and intimate. Perfect for brunch.
My reservation was for 1:45 & we weren’t seated until around 2:15. There were several tables open but was told we couldn’t be seated there because it was reserved for a larger party (never showed). At least two parties of the same size came in after us and were seated before us. It was like we were glass windows standing by the entrance. I can go on for days.. I’ll just stop here.
Great food with a great vibe.
Joined a friend for brunch to introduce them to LuLu’s. They absolutely loved it and as always I wasn’t disappointed!!
Overall great. Extremely loud and difficult to hear, but we asked to be moved and they put us in the adjacent room, which was much quieter. Really great.
Food and drinks were delicious but the prices were a little steep. Service was a little slow but that could have been remedied if they had more wait staff.
Awesome vibe and great service, Riley is a great server! Definitely coming back!
I don't even know where to start everything was perfect. Everyone needs to go at least one time.
Great place that is underutilized for dinner!
Dined at Lulus for Valentines and was worried bc I usually go to Lulus for brunch. I shouldn’t have worried bc food and service was great. The reason I am giving 4 stars is bc the menu was price fixe which resulted in the food coming out very quickly to the point of feeling rushed.
We went for Sunday brunch Food was excellent. Service was very good. It was extremely crowded with a wait of an hour if no reservation. We had a reservation and had a wait of about 20 mins. Two people were working the hostess stand & that seemed to be a problem with seating people. There were empty tables but no one was cleaning them. Our table had not been wiped down since previous diners, only dishes removed. It was very loud & I had to talk loud to be heard. All that said, the food is worth returning & I will
Food was great and fast. Service was excellent. Great place to go for Brunch.
Great Bloody Mary with jumbo celery stalk
Had Juevos rancheros, with Avacado, like the red potatoes, very good and hearty brunch
I had the Chesapeake Benny and it was delicious! Very generous amount of lump crab. The service was friendly, but we did have to re-ask for the drink order.
Really enjoy LuLu's would make another visit in the near future #gaingang
