Large portions. Awesome (strong) margaritas.
The waitstaff are fantastic - very service oriented - friendly and professional. the house margaritas are the best in LA - not a weak hipster style drink. The food is good. If Broken Spanish is 5 star and Mercado is 4 star then Lula is a very good strong 3 star. But the staff and the drinks make the place.
Food at Lula’s is always delicious
Brunch menu on line but no brunch menu exists.
Some food was cold or cooked wrong.
Was decent. Not great
The food is always good. The ambiance is beautiful.
Great as usual!
Queso fundito with homemade tortillas was a really good start. Then terrible. Tamale was a mushy mess, Tostito was inedible. Burrito had so much bean juice in it you couldn’t pick it up. Fajitas were all onions. Rellenos has gloppy cheese filling. Just awful.
Walked right in, we were seated and staff took our orders. Our entire party enjoyed their meals.
Good food and adequate service. Priced high for what you get.
we have eaten there many times. This time Sunday so noisy with kids yelling and parents not taking control and respecting other diners . They need to go to Chucky Cheese ! Kids need to learn manners and I am not sure if I will go back just because of the kid factor.
From the Margaritas to the appetizers to the solo guitarist and service - very nicely done! Great date spot!
Yummy home style Mexican food. Ceviche tostadas were excellent. Lobster enchiladas were tasty, kind of small. We were still hungry. Bomb margaritas.
I have lived in the area for years and come to Lula from time to time. While we were initially shown to a terrible table in the noisy back bar area, but after I hesitated we were offered a comfortable booth by the windows which was much better for conversation! I brought my two twenty-something nephews who are vegans, and they really enjoyed the vegan options. I had a light ceviche-style dish and a great margarita. Feels very neighborhood-y and I really need to go back more often. Service was friendly and professional.
I have been going to Lula's for years. Always good food... Service is great and the margaritas are the best. I highly recommend Lula's.
Service was terrible, our server was rude to not just us, but other tables. The food was fantastic, however, and everyone else that worked there was great. I hope the guy cheers up or stops working there, because he was a bummer
One of our favorite neighborhood spots!!! We know every waiter by name. It’s perfect every time.
it took FOREVER to get our food and it wasn’t even that full. i keep trying to like that place but its so freaking slow to get the food out.
Went because they advertise vegan options. The vegan food tasted awful. The non vegan meal my husband had was below average the guacamole tasted like it was bought and not freshly made.
We went for dinner on a Saturday around 6:30PM. Had a good flow of people, but wasn't too busy. The margaritas were great and so was the meal! Would definitely go back for casual dining.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant.
Fantastic, as always! Best margaritas in LA County!
We hadn't been to Lula's for many years and were looking so forward to going back. (We've gotten a bit tired of El Cholo, our usual place). We made a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday evening and were surprised when the host ( a strangely unfriendly gentleman) attempted to seat us out on the very loud back patio. He wasn't pleased when we asked to sit inside but dutifully led us back in and seated us at a small table in the back of the restaurant, even though there were three empty booths by the window. When we asked why we couldn't sit at one of them he said they were reserved. Our server was great and tried to make up for the bad vibes we were getting but the food was mediocre and the evening couldn't be saved. When we left a few hours later two of the three window booths were still empty. Guess we'll stick to El Cholo and never go back to Lula's thanks to the awful attitude of the host.
Even the chips were stale. Gone totally downhill since last we dined there about a year ago.. Does Geri Gilliland still own it? It's a shame because it used to be a stable and good steady place to go. Come back!
Drinks were great. Food was OK. Service was great as well
Our immediate family of 12 celebrated Mother’s Day here today for brunch. Once again Lula didn’t disappoint. Great food, fast service, beautiful outdoor terrace. Mexican heaven!
Strong Drinks A-
Quickness in Service B-

Wait time (with reservation) A
Service was horrible, food was worse (and mine was cold and congealed by the time I got it). Wait time was absolutely unacceptable and went unexplained. No apologies, as if business was as usual and nothing was awry. Guests at other tables actually left after trying to get the attention of ANYONE who worked there ... but they did get free chips and salsa which was actually the only good thing that Lula had to offer ... so lucky them.
Awesome as always!
Its always a winner and a go to for getting together with friends
This was some of the worst food I have had, I don’t know why the restaurant had looked so good in reviews. The food was bland, I had chicken with fat in it, the waitress brought everything out wrong. Just overall not a great experience.
My family loves coming here for a fun family dinner on the weekends. Been coming here for years and it never disappoints.
Outstanding food! The best fajitas I have ever had!
Good Mexican food, great Margueritas, service was outstanding due to our manager-waiter Raphael!
We were really looking forward to this dinner, and ended up very disappointed. Our booth was way too small for 6 people, our waitress made one excuse after the next, it took 55 minutes to get our dinner, and only one of us actually enjoyed the food. Oh and the cocktails are served in oversized shot glasses, so that was the final straw.
I'd been here a few years back but hadn't returned prior to now and now I wish I had! They were absolutely slammed yet our server did a phenomenal job attending to us, making sure our order was accurate and not making us feel rushed. Food was terrific, try a variety of the margaritas! It can be a bit expensive if you come from out of town, but it's nothing vastly different from other restaurants in the area. I will definitely be back!
Food is always great. I forgot to specify that I wanted red sauce on enchiladas, but my dining companion graciously swapped with me.
We always love Lula. The food is great. So are the drinks;
thanks to Rafael. The atmosphere is lovely. It’s hard not to enjoy Lula.
This is a place I describe to my friends and colleagues as THE place with the BEST Mexican food away from Mexico. Kudos to the person that made selection of the menu and cocktails. Some of those dishes are very hard to cook anywhere away from Mexico. This is not the stereotype of fast Mexican food, nor the overrated Tex-Mex food style. You can pick any option of the menu and you will have a great experience. For Mexicans living away from Mexico, this place will make you miss home. For drinks, if you are up to something different, nice and unusual, try the guava margarita. This is not the common "slushy" style drink. This place is my mandatory stop when visiting good L.A.!
The food was excellent, but overall it was a bit pricey.
