Luigi's Restaurant & Bar
It was cold inside. The AC was on too high. The food got cold quickly after.
I booked this place because of the reasonable price range and the good reviews. However, I didn't expect a prefix menu where everything was $50 or more. Albeit, I don't book too many restaurants this far into Queens, but I wish it was explicitly listed that all of their food prices would double and the regular menu was not optional for mother's day. Food that I had expected to pay perhaps 30 or below was now a prefix menu of 50 and above with starters and desserts. Way too much food for what my party of 8 had been expecting. The service was great and so was the ambiance. I'd come back on any other day but a holiday.
I did not expect a set menu for Mother's day, as it was not mentioned on the website or when i called to confirm my reservations. I was a bit disappointed that i could not order off the regular menu. However, the food was excellent. I will definitely be back.
Normally, this is a fantastic place to dine with family and friends. We were a party of 6 and went for a Saturday night Mothers Day dinner with family. We were seated in the 'back room' for a 7PM reservation. A half hour after being seated, a birthday celebration of about 25 people were seated; they didn't sit and were obnoxiously loud hovering over people dining. We did notify the host of the noise...Not much they could do. About an hour in, and this loud group finally sat. We ordered appetizers and a salad to begin. Our server made it seem like our appetizers would be small portions and wanted to 'up size' to family style portions. Not necessary. We've eaten at Luigis on many occasions and never had a problem with the portion sizes. We declined. Our salad never came. At 9ish our entrees were brought to the table. Two were cold. Our server seemed uncaring and uninterested. We've never had this kind of experience at Luigi's before.
We will dine at Luigi's again, but will NOT be seated in that back area again with that server.
Delicious food, friendly service & a lively atmosphere w/people of all ages including families being festive & enjoying good food. Highly recommend.
Really good. Luigi's is a reliable neighborhood place!
Great for date night, or birthday's or special occasions. I have been here several times. My wife and family loves the old style Lobster Risotto with Saffron.
Basal/Olive oil dip and house made bread are delicious.
Very large portions of food, tasty, not fancy, down to earth cooking.
Noise level high.
A solid local restaurant.
Nice Restaurant and delicious food , we had a wonderful time!
Excellent food and drinks. Fantastic staff who try hard to please!!
We have been coming here since 2002 and always loved it until tonight. Waited long time for table and bus boy spilled gasoline from candle behind me all on floor and my sweater. Hostess told manager and waitress but they didn’t care and never mopped floor with gasoline.
Sad that the placed changed.
My husband, son and I went to Luigi’s for the first time this past Saturday night. We have lived in the neighborhood for a long time but never ate at Luigi’s. The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely recommend Luigi’s to my friends and family.
Everything was pretty spot on. The only negative i would say was when the bus boy brought the bread to my table, the bread was cold and i requested that it be warmed up. He snatched it and had a nasty attitude. When he brought it back he rudely put the basket back on the table as if to say he was highly annoyed by the request. I do understand that it was a busy night but nonetheless customers shouldn’t be subjected to staff annoyances. My waiter was a pleasure and the woman who i believe was management as well was very polite and nice and the host who seated my boyfriend and i was energetic, polite, and friendly. Overall my experience was amazing. Perhaps the bus boy was having a bad day.
Old-school place. Prices are reasonable. Love the pesto sauce for bread dipping. They like having mashed potato sides rather than pasta but you can order that too. Real nice place with good food.
Restaurant waitress was very kind and food was good~ this is my second time to visit here. I would like to try other food here next time.
Always get great service and a lovely meal. We enjoy going on special occasions. We will continue to do so in the future.
When we arrived we were seated directly in front of the entrance to the room which was very uncomfortable. Also there were two tables of at least 20 people each with more than half of them children under 5- We could not hear ourselves speak - it was as if a family party took over the room - I guess this can happen on a holiday so I will be careful in the future when booking. A restaurant. Once those families left and we requested to change our table -all was ok. Our server was excellent. However, due to our experience I would probably not book Luigi’s for a holiday.
Have been dining here many years and can always depend on a good meal at a decent price. Just don't go on a holiday. Drinks at bar served in HOT glasses just out of the dishwasher. Inexperienced bartender (relative of ownership) didn't take suggestion well. Not to do that. Kitchen overwhelmed pasta specials overcooked, lamb osso bucco cooked till dry side pasta served on the plate a glued together glob. Just a big disappointment for an Easter family dinner.
Fabulous. Yara is a great waitress. Can’t go wrong. Best food and service.
Great place with great food! Would recommend it to anyone!
The food & service were outstanding. The staff accommodated our fairly large group of 10 in tight quarters but made us feel comfortable none the less. I will have many more group meals here for my best clients from New York Life in Lake Success!
Good local spot. Food is always consistent. Service is always good. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by.
Dinner is always excellent at Luigi’s. Our server Jennifer was wonderful. We love going with others so we can share lots of appetizers. Their colossal meatball is great. The shrimp tempura is always delicious. Fried calamari crispy and plentiful with yummy aioli sauce.
You can’t go wrong with Luigi’s. I just wish that they would bring back the Chilean sea bass dish that used to be a staple on their menu.
Food presentation and taste was good. Less salt in dipping sauce and salad would be great
Service was a bit slow but food was delicious.
Luigi's is consistent. The food is always excellent, that's why we return again and again. I do prefer during the week as it is less hectic. This was Saturday evening so the noise level was up, but even with the crowds, the service was great. Our server, Patricia, was delightful.
Luigi's is one of the most reliable dining experiences we have had in recent years. The ambience is relaxing, the drinks tasty, the menu interesting, the kitchen talented and the service friendly and attentive. And the thing is, it's always like this. It is our favorite go-to and we highly recommend it.
Great food, from appetizer to desserts! Will be back
We’ve been to Luigi’s many times and are never disappointed. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!
We were all very satisfied with Luigi's. It was unusual to have drink specials described by the waiter. Phil, a very competent and nice young man. Three of us had specials for dinner and they were excellent. One of us had an item from the regular menu, chicken compagna, which was great.
Fantastic! Been there many times. It never disappoints
Family dinner. Everyone was happy with their dish.
Our party was handled very well by the wait staff. We were seated punctually and enjoyed a leisurely dinner. Spinach very good, the bread unremarkable. Does everyone LOVE pesto? ;-)
Food was delicious- our waiter was great to
Start and then pretty much forgot about us by the end of the meal. Brought our 2 desserts together and 20 minutes later we had to ask what happened to the third one and the tea that was ordered. The manager approached us as we were leaving and took back our credit card to deduct all the desserts and coffee. We will give it another try in the future
Positive experience beginning with a warm welcome from owner. Top rate wait staff. Anything you need is taken care of quickly and with a smile. The food is fabulous from the best brick oven pizza to their made on the premise fresh pasta. This restaurant is always packed.. must make a reservation. There is valet parking on the weekend.
Very loud, busy bar; slow to be served and forgot by server, good guinness on tap but food was ok, nothing special. For want of many options in the area it's better than many however.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday during lunch. They put us in the side room. We were all by ourselves away from the busy main room. It was very nice and the food was great as always!
I come here about once a month. The food and service are always very good. Gets a bit busy on the weekends so you might want to make a reservation. All and all one of my favorites.
We love this place. The food is excellent and so delicious we are looking forward to our next visit.
Delicious food. My fresh pasta was amazing! Very attentive service .
