Luigi's Patio Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We had party of 7. Service was great! One had lasagne and said it was the best ever. Hubby and I had different veal dishes. Veal was cooked well, tender, not chewy and seemed of good quality. The olive tapenade on the bread was delish! If you like olives, you will love it. Waiter recommended a nice bottle of wine. Others had chicken parm with eggplant, spaghetti with meatballs and a chicken with pasta dish and one a salad. Everyone enjoyed their food. Would recommend.
Very good food at a reasonable place. The restaurant is located in a strip shopping center, however, you forget all about that when you walk in. The atmosphere and ambiance is very quaint and "Italian". We were in town for a football game and this was our best meal of the weekend.
We typically visit at least once a week and have always enjoyed ourselves. The service is exceptional the food is amazing the atmosphere is relaxing and the overall visit is top notch. Thank you for being a part of our community and welcoming everyone into your kitchen.
Went for our anniversary, had pre ordered champagne. It was satisfactory in price and taste. We ordered one course at a time. The waitress had good timing in presenting the next course as we finished. We were unrushed. 2.5 hrs and five cousres with dessert. A very nice evening. Will return to try Sunday brunch.
Luigi's was very gracious when we had to call to revise our reservations to add one more. We are so glad, because we had a lovely evening with friends! The food was wonderful, as was the wine. The live music was a nice touch, although I might have been the only person at the table to appreciate Brubeck.
My biggest gripe was the service. I understand it was a very busy night, Aggie Ring Night, so waiting for our reserved table for 7 was fine. The problem started when we got to our table. We ordered a bottle of prosecco to share between 2 people. The waitress brought out regular wine glasses, I asked if they had champagne glasses. She did return a few minutes later with the champagne glasses. She then brought us a split (187ml) to share, instead of a standard sized wine bottle, (750 ml). We explained we wanted to share a regular sized bottle, not a split. When she arrived back at the table, she handed us the bottle in a chiller without opening it, and then promptly left. Isn't it the norm for the wait staff to open bottles of wine in a restaurant? When we opened the bottle ourselves and tasted it, the temperature was barely chilled. The waitress wasn't around so we ended up drinking it, not wanting to cause a scene when we were there to celebrate. This was the first time I had eaten here but I understand the menu being condensed due to the busy night. We ordered the mussels for the table and both orders were gritty and overly fishy tasting. Yes, I know mussels are seafood but they should not be overly fishy tasting, or at least they haven't been at other places where I have had them. The rest of the meal went fine. We enjoyed our dinner and the bread with the garlic spread was delicious. We also enjoyed the ambiance and live music, it was festive and was at the right sound level where we could still hear our dinner conversations. I received the bill that was over $200 with an 18% gratuity already added due to the size of the party. If I had the option, I would have reduced the gratuity based on the service. Again, we were celebrating ring day and I didn't want to make an issue out of it. Not sure if I will revisit Luigi's on a more normal night, it will depend on what options are available.
We had heard it was a good place and were in town for Ring Day so decided to come then. Walked in and was surprised of the unique decor with outdoor feeling. Food was great and so was service. I was there with my dad thatnhas had some health issues and he really enjoyed a great meal out. We will be back for sure.
We have dined here many times before . We were really surprised at our 5:30 reservations that it seemed like the wait staff was understaffed and the young lady that waited on us was trying to rush us out because she had too many tables to Wait on . One of the food entree item that we wanted was not available.
It was our 34tb Wedding Anniversary
I felt like I could have gotten better service somewhere else for the $160 that I spent for our Anniversary supper.
Thank you J.R
The hostess was very nice and helpful. Our server was pleasant and took care of us well.
The live jazz was very nice and we enjoyed it. The food however was not so good. Not a good value for the money. Food totally lacked any " wow factor ". We will not be back
This was our first time back in almost 2 years and not much had changed other than the manager. It was still comfortable and the food was very good. The menu had just the right amount of items instead of the overwhelming "books" of items as in most places. The music was a little bit too loud when it did start(piano), but it was mellow.
Our waiter was excellent. Just the right amount of attention to us.
The one draw back was the table we were in was too close to another couple that were seated after we were and he was extremely loud. He had absolutely no consideration for anyone around him. We both came away with a complete family/history lesson from this. It was obviously a first date and he was too intent on trying to impress his date.
Overall, we will go back soon.
We had family visiting from Italy and took them to Luigi's. The food was Delicious. Cocktails were amazing and the cheese cake had to be homemade. We will be going back again and again I can guarantee it. I cant believe that we had not been there before now.
I have been to Luigi's a few times, basically, every time I come to College Station to visit my daughter, we go to this restaurant. The service has always been just okay. However, I wanted to take my brother and his family there, since they were in town and hoped it would have been memorable. The service was the worst I have ever had. Several minutes passed after being seated before we were even approached by anyone. We barely saw our server, she wanted to take our food order before the drinks were even delivered. She did not check with us regularly to order more drinks, or even get refills for those who were not drinking. I was also a little disappointed with the live music. They usually have a jazz band playing, but this particular night they had one guy playing the guitar and singing semi-popular songs from 20 and 30 years ago.
My husband and I love Luigi's food. We have been several times and had different entrees, appetizers and desserts. I love that they have a full bar. The only thing I don't like is that they have live music on weeekend nights. It is just too loud! The restaurant is too small for live music. The last time we went the band was fine but they had their amps so loud that we could hardly talk to each other. We aren't old or grouchy, we just like a quiter, romantic dinner sometimes. Even when I went one time for a girl's night it was too much. I want to talk to my friends!
The decor is charming, the bread is outstanding, the choices on the menu and on the beverage list have many options and a lot of depth. We enjoyed the live music as it was very good with talented musicians but not too loud to have table conversations. And, the Italian food options are especially good, usually my go to place for Italian food.
Always great service and the food is delicious every time. The setting has an Italian patio feeling inside. Perfect for date nights. I would recommend making a reservation before, just makes things easier and it's one of the few in town that do...which I appreciate. Enjoy.
