Lugo's Ratings and Reviews
We were completely delighted by Lugo's. The menu provided adequate variety without being too extensive to be taken seriously and had some interesting choices. The steamed mussel opener was fabulous and we later regretted not bringing the remaining broth home with us to experiment with. The salads (my wife had Caesar, I had spinach) were simple but the house made dressings were excellent--well made and balanced without trying too hard.
We loved the main courses, too. My wife had the chicken cordon-bleu which was succulent without being too rich. I had the shrimp and andouille with cheese grits which was excellent with just the right touch of heat.
For dessert we shared a cheesecake, which was rich and flavorful without being too sweet.
The service was world class. Our waitress (Kim) was very friendly, always appeared JUST at the right time and anticipated our wishes as if she could read our minds. The courses were timed perfectly, too.
What can I say? It's our new favorite place.
I was not impressed at all. I suppose it might be fancy for my small town. The portion sizes were extremely small and we waited 45 minutes for our food. Our waitress checked on use one time and let me run out of water. When she brought the check she was very short with us, saw I was out of water and ignored it. I did enjoy the artwork on the wall. But we won't be back and I won't recommend this to anyone. The girl at the front who took us to the table was also very nice.
The staff at Lugos is awesome. I made my reservation online and added a note that I wanted to see if a glass of wine for my wife could be ready when we sat down. The waitress called me about 3 hours before our reservation time to confirm she had the note and what kind of wine I wanted ready and even prepared my drink. The noise level was more than I thought it would be but after a few minutes you adjust to that. The kitchen is out in the open and you can see them preparing everyone's food(that was nice to see). I truly recommend that you buy the kitchen a round off of the desert menu. It's an additional $12 but thought guys(and potentially gals) really deserve it. The owner(head cook it appeared as well) came around after everyone's food was served and asked how everything was, that was a nice touch and genuine response to a busy night. The Dickson downtown was a treat in itself. Well worth the trip!
It was our first visit to Lugo's and from the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The staff was amazing and very attentive. The wine list had many wonderful selections, they helped us narrow down the perfect bottle of wine based on our menu selections. Our food was amazing.
Our overall dining experience was wonderful and we will defiantly be returning customers.
My wife and I eaten here twice and both times have been exceptional experiences. The seating is spaced so you feel relaxed and not crammed into a tiny space. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. The food is delicious, fresh and wonderfully seasoned. They serve what may be the best calamari I've ever had, tender not chewy. The drinks were very good and the coffee was great. Lugo's was and is a wonderful surprise find and I'm sorry it took us so long before we found it.
Wasn't real sure when I booked this table in Dickson. Having lived 25 minutes away all my life I never imagined there would be a restaurant this nice with food this good in downtown Dickson. From the moment we arrived until we left we never felt rushed or expected to hurry up and leave. Waiter was most informative. Wine he recommended was fabulous and not overpriced. Had the barbeque wontons for an appetizer and they were crispy on the outside and the meat was moist and flavorful on the inside with a sauce that was spicy but not too spicy. I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and was seasoned perfectly. I could have cut it with my butter knife. Others at the table had the lasagna and the chicken cordon blue and all enjoyed their meals. Homemade biscuits were brought to the table with whipped butter (not the hard butter that you have to hold in your hands to melt). For dessert all had the brownie with ice cream that was one of the best I've had. Brownie was moist and not hard and ice cream was rich and creamy. Chef came to each table and introduced himself and asked about the meal. Definitely a "CLASS ACT"!! This is one restaurant that we will return to again and again. Already looking forward to our next time and what we will order from the menu.
This was our second time dining at Lugo's, and we were entertaining another couple for dinner. We drove a good distance, and again it was worth the drive. The food was excellent, and the wait was not long for a scratch kitchen. Our waitress did a great job, and delivered everything with a smile. Two Thumbs up to the chef and restaurant.
I highly recommend this restaurant, and will be back.
I really enjoy going to Lugo's restaurant and normally enjoy the food but the prep time and the time it takes to get the food to your table is horrible I understand it's a scratch kitchen and everything is made fresh but when the restaurants half full and it takes an hour and a half to get your food to the table that's unacceptable to me and by the way our server Jodi Was great
Dined May 7th in the middle of prom night! But, all was great! From where I sat I could see all the action on the line and they were rocking it out! I'm so sorry I forgot our server's name but she was very attentive and friendly! We ordered every appetizer and all were so good. The larger Plantain Chips were not as crunchy as the smaller ones but we still enjoyed them. Our favorites were the Steamed Mussels and fried Calamari, so good! The salads were just what you want...fresh & crunchy. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the fish and pasta dishes were excellent! Tiramisu and Creme Brulee were out of this world perfect! Great food, great atmosphere...you will be pleased...I know we left satisfied and full! Thank you Lugo's for a wonderful night of fun, food and family! Can't wait for our next visit to Dickson & Lugo's!
At 62 my wife I like to frequent places that are alive but not crazy. Lugo's is that place. Good ambience, good food, good service. Consistently high in all categories. The owner, Lugo, always takes time to check with his patrons to make sure you are happy. I take my friends and good customers there every chance I get.
