This place was spot on as usual. Very good food and our server Melissa couldn't have been more professional. I have been here many times, and have always left happy. This time the food was even better than before....... I don't know what they did to the bolognese, but this time a very good dish got even better. My dining companion was making her Lugo premiere and that's where our sever Melissa took over. Melissa walked my friend patiently through the menu and made several recommendations to her. David runs the show like a pro and always recognizes me when I'm in. Makes one feel special. YES...... this place is high energy. It gets loud...... but hey, we're New Yorkers, we are all about the energy!

I specifically asked for a quiet table because I was meeting an old friend from out of the country. We were seated right on top of another table in the front entrance. The table was small and it was so loud I could even hear most of our conversation. We should have asked for another table but he was there first and we didn’t want to complain. Big mistake.

I never heard of it or knew it existed. I went on Open Table and it seemed like the perfect pre-Billy Joel concert eatery. The restaurant was great, we all enjoyed the atmosphere and most importantly the food. A great choice if you are seeing a show or game at Madison Square Garden as the location is right around the corner at 1 Penn Plaza. Another hint... if you are driving into NYC for MSG and need a parking lot use the Icon Parking at 1 Penn Plaza and go on to Groupon and pay in advance. Parking was $36.00 instead of the regular $60.00!

This was my 3rd time coming to Lugo’s prior to seeing Billy Joel. The food is excellent and having a 5:45 reservation is perfect timing for a 8:00 concert.

Loud but fun! Was a great find close to Penn Station. Food good but noise level high for a business lunch. Other diners very accommodating. Service good. Will be back to sample the cocktails!

Meal was very good as in past experiences - our group had a variety of entrees and all were very satisfied. The only issue was we had to wait almost half an hour for our check at the end as it got so busy.

Reservation was at 6p and our entree didn’t come out till 740p. We checked in with server to let her know we needed to leave for an 8p show and she said she would check in it and never came back with an update. Finally we said we need to have our food served right away along with the check. Server had no real sense of urgency.

Everything was wonderful. I must give your hostesses some kudos. They were so lovely and very professional. We were seated right at our reservation time despite the restaurant being completely jam packed. We had a very nice time. Thank you!

We had a show at MSG - couldn’t have been more convenient! Service was excellent - food was very good. We got there early - 5:30 - restaurant was practically empty - but by the time we left 7:30ish it was packed. Will definitely become my regular when going to an MSG event!

The food was outstanding. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and it was very well seasoned. They ran out of the Squid Ink Pasta which was the special but I'm sure it would be have fantastic.

Have eaten here several times before going to an event at the Garden. The food is always consistent & not over priced for NYC. Plenty of options on the menu. They change it up based on the season. The meatball appetizer is delicious. If you want their bread you need to ask for it at the beginning. It's weird but eveytime I have been there it arrives towards the end of our meal. I will note it is very loud inside if your looking for quiet & quant, it's not your place. I like it. It fits the vibe for a night out pre concert. We sat outside this time because it was a nice weather.. Will be back again.

Not an old fashioned venue but basically your traditional Italian fare – service was good, all the staff friendly - I’d go again – I mean it’s not top shelf New York dining but it’s not - I think I saw Mario Batali’s “new” place when I was Googling - $240 a plate or per person more accurately before drink – the food was good and dinner for two with wine cost a lot less than the one person price above. If not in NY it could in many cities probably be regarded toward the better end of Italian dining, everything was tasty. Nothing to complain about and I’d go back.

Dinner was pre sports event at MSG and location was perfect! Our server, Marisa, was cheerful, knowledgeable and attentive. Wine list was impressive and food was delicious. My husband is more of a "family style" eater so he was a bit disappointed in serving size. I felt the portions were good. The décor was very bright and contemporary, I would definitely return.

Walked in at 7:30 to have dinner with a couple before the Bruno Mars concert. Place was empty even though we had wanted an earlier reservation and couldn't get one. Lights were too bright. Asked the manager to turn down and he told us we were right. Ladies room was in rough shape. Manager said he had just checked it. Took too long to get water. Food good but not great. Waiter forgot to put in one of the apps. Waiter couldn't remember limes. Rushed out of there to get to the concert. Overall, not memorable.

Lugo is one of my go-to spots: so conveniently located right across from MSG, Penn Station, subways, etc. Food is delicious--fresh salads, great pastas and fish, perfect pizza. one of my fave cheesecakes in any NYC restaurant. Pre-meal bread is on point. Service is good, plus they leave a carafe of water on your table. :) only cons include the high noise level and--seriously, Lugo--the bathroom situation. Two single-person restrooms for women in such a big place is ridiculous. Put in more bathrooms.

We were looking for a decent place to have lunch close to Penn Station while we waited for our train. This place hit the spot, across the road from the Station with great food and service. Seemed to be full of office folk having a bite to eat, even though it was a Friday the place wasn't too noisey albeit we were sitting in a quiet spot. Would we return? Definately.

Went to restaurant before seeing a concert across the street at MSG. While the appys were good, all of our pasta entrees were no better than airline food. Server was very good, in a very busy atmosphere.

I would go again before a MSG event for drinks and appys ONLY.
