Honestly, I don’t feel like it lived up to the hype or price. We waited forever for anyone to come to our table, my drink had a cracked glass and my husband’s wine glass had lipstick (spoiler alert- he doesn’t wear it). I ordered eggs Benedict and my eggs were hard.... the risotto was good. Corn soup had chewy mushrooms. Soft shell crab sandwich was good. The restaurant and patio has no music or ambiance. It was an above average lunch (my drink was great), but for a $200 lunch for 3, I just expect more.
Food outstanding as was the service. Even the server who was new at this assignment was adorable. We dine all over Napa and Sonoma Counties.
We would like to see more imaginative deserts, all as interesting as the Creme Brûlée trio...the only Creme Brûlée desert I’ve seen which was of any note.
We will be returning.
Fantastic ambience. Fun and comfortable bar scene. Terrific cocktail seating outdoors. Lovely landscaping and interesting art. Impeccable service, wine list, cuisine. Deserts were so-so. We'll be back soon.
We didn't realize this restaurant was in a hotel when we made the reservation...while that's typically not our preference, the food and service were both fantastic. Being in Yountville, it has to compete with some excellent options and it holds its own.
Excellent Service....one minor blip...the martini tasted like a lemon drop...
First time at Lucy's and brought some friends for brunch.
We all enjoyed our meal and the ambience. The staff were wonderful.
The hotel design and location are fabulous.
A serene and beautiful location. Great art and fountains.
Would definitely go there again!
Go to Lucy's! We went with friends in from Chicago and we thought it was wonderful. The chef catered to my being a vegan and did a fantastic job. My friends enjoyed their seafood just as much. The place is gorgeous. It has a "high end" feel to it, but the prices are quite reasonable. We would go back anytime we are in that area. In fact, we will most certainly go back!
Always a pleasure from the outstanding food to the kind and friendly staff this place is a favorite
Great service and nice atmosphere
Lucy has great food, and the service is very good. However, their wine list should be an embarrassment to them. I was embarrassed when, after raving about Lucy to my friends, we showed up for dinner and I was shocked by the wine list.
I can appreciate having some high-end bottles on the wine list, but in the heart of Napa Valley there is no reason on the planet that every Cabernet on the wine list is a $250+ bottle. In a place where almost every winery's "estate" Cabernet sells for between $40 and $70 a bottle, it really does not seem so difficult to offer something in a range that is reasonable.
Having no Napa Cabernet on the wine list at a reasonable price is one thing (note that the on-line wine list is not what is on their "tablet wine list" you get handed at the table). Yet, Lucy goes above and beyond by having a 250%+ markup on already higher end bottles (e.g., a Phelps Cabernet above $200; a 2014 Opus One--Winery Price: $325; Lucy Price: $860 [this one from their on-line wine list]). Really? Perhaps I have naive expectations, but I expect mark-up to be inversely proportion to the retail price of a wine.
Lucy is a great restaurant because of its food. We were there on a weekend, and it was mostly empty. Perhaps pairing the great food with a sensible wine list that offers good value across a full range of prices would help put people in the seats at the tables. In all of my past visits to Lucy, a sensible wine list is what was offered. This time, embarrassing. Even the wine list at the French Laundry is more reasonable.
Anyway, thanks for ruining the dinner with my friends by curating a really unreasonable wine list. I am sure we would have stayed longer and ordered more wine if the wine list had been put together by someone sensible.
Service was great. Went for my husband's birthday. They gave us each a glass of Mumm's to start and celebrate. Had the duck stroganoff - was outstanding - big portion, couldn't finish it but was thinking about it the next day. Very, very good. The wine list is a expensive, not many choices under $100.
Went here for Sunday brunch, because we forgot to make a reservation at Ad Hoc for their brunch.
The environment was calm and quiet.
We ordered the Baby Beet Salad, Ale Batter Fish & Chips, and Sonoma Duck Confit Hash.
The beet salad and fish were really good. The batter on the fish was very light and flaky. The chips (fries) tasted okay, but were a bit soggy; would have liked them crispier (matter of preference).
The duck was also really good. I just wish there was more of it, esp. for the price. If you workout/train hard, I recommend you order an extra entree or two, have a (healthy) snack ready after like we did.
Better yet, go to Ad Hoc instead.
Lovely outdoor area, peaceful and serene. Excellent service and food. Very relaxing.
A quick summary would say - great food, reasonably priced. Unbelievably expensive wines. Service staff needs training.
We dined here for father's day brunch at 1:30 p.m. The place was about 30% filled. While the staff was friendly, after they seated us, poured our water and asked if we needed some time, they disappeared - 40 minutes disappeared. I had to get up and ask the hostess if someone could get our order. Did I mention the place was only 30% filled?
Once they took our order, the food was out quickly. BUT - we had to remind staff three times for more water (really?), and they brought out four meals at one time, but the fifth one came out 10 minutes later! Then, they completely forgot to bring out the soup that we ordered.
To their credit, to apologize, the soup was free and they brought out a really nice fruit plate, gratis. They honestly felt bad, but it was clear the staff was not getting the training, support or supervision for a restaurant of this style.
The food was truly outstanding. We loved it. The food prices were really reasonable. However, the wine prices were horrible. For example, they offered a 2016 Darioush Viognier for $250. You could buy the same wine at the winery for $45. I have never seen mark ups like this ever, and I do buy wine fairly often.
I would try Lucy's again, but with trepidation.
Can never go wrong with Lucy - great food, service, and ambience. Thank you for a great night!
There were 3 of us for lunch. This is our second visit here. The menu is very interesting, the atmosphere pleasant, the wait staff very nice and helpful. Could be a great place. My cousin, male and a bit impatient, got up to find our wait person twice. The drinks are too expensive.
The wait to be served was almost annoying. If something is going to take much longer than the others, I think we should be advised of that. I had Eggs Benedict. When we were served my eggs were not hot and the English muffin was hard. It was pleasant tasting but disappointing after waiting so long. We experienced some of the same things the first time we were there.
We made reservations here because we always stay at Bardessono. The salmon was over cooked and served skin side up. The steak was way over cooked and the flavors were overwhelming. Gnocchi was soggy. Overall we were very disappointed based on the reviews of the restaurant. There was another group, one of the only 5 tables, and they had complaints about food and service as well.
Fantastic lunch with friends in-between wineries!! Upscale. They have a wonderful outdoor patio and THEY ARE DOG FRIEDLY!! My little chihuahua was welcome! Everyone in our party of four enjoyed their lunch and enjoyed the patio. Lunch was very relaxing. No rush.. Perfect spot.
Open table accepted our reservation for 2 pm. Their kitchen closes at 2 pm. Fortunately the restaurant called us to alert us to this fact and we adjusted our schedule to arrive at an earlier time. FHD
Excellent service! Our waiter, Tony, was fantastic. The food was superb as well.
Waiters were sweet guys. Couldn’t do enough for us
My group was all over the place with food preferences, Lucy’s delivered! Personally, I had the beet salad with fried goat cheese medallions. Others, in my group, selected Eggs Benedict and French Toast. Waitstaff attentive and very modern ambience. Highly recommend.
We’ve been dining at Lucy since it opened. It is always wonderful. From the moment you arrive and peruse the terrific art way along your way to the restaurant, to the terrific service, Lucy is a major home run. Don’t miss the gnocchi! My favorite of all. The scallops are fabulous, too. We’ll keep coming. Try for an evening when the weather will let you sit outdoors. Not too be missed!
It was good at all
What a fantastic evening. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and the way the staff made us feel was incredible. The food was divine, and the setting stunning...
Excellent food, excellent service. Highly recommend.
We are local and It was my mother’s birthday. Everyone made sure to make her feel special. Santiago made sure we had a wonderful time. Excellent service! Delicious food!
My husband took me here for Mother’s Day and we were so disappointed. We waited over an hour to get our food as the chef tried to defrost lobster for his salad....frozen lobster?? Thankfully they didn’t charge us for the salad. I ordered risotto which was bland and the lobster in there was chewy. The staff was friendly but, Unfortunately we will not be back.
Lucy is in an upscale spa in Yountville. The restaurant is very serene. We were there for lunch and all they had was a brunch or bar menu. We ordered a Spicy Fizz their take on a Ramos Fizz. It should have been served in a chimney glass, we got two aperitif glass 1/2 filled with foam. Which as it turns out was okay because the drinks were horrible.
My husband ordered the Binh Ma sandwich that had no flavor and was upsold herbed fries that were hard and flat. I had the chicken & waffles with flavorless syrup and some weird chipotle sauce that should have been on someone else’s plate. This experience cost us over$90.00 which we don’t mind paying if it’s worth it. This was not.
They need a chef that matches the location
Had a fabulous dinner. Had a vegan in our group and they were accommodating and even made suggestions to replace meat and dairy items. Broccoli risotto was top-notch.
Lucy is a hidden gem in Yountville and we feel lucky to have found it on our recent visit. Inside a hotel, it's not obvious from the street. Our dinner was delicious - hard to choose from all the creative and beautifully prepared menu options. The service was excellent as was the ambiance and attention to detail.
We love Lucy's on the Bardessono Hotel grounds. A very special place that we love returning to.
The food is elegant and delicious. On weekends they have a Brunch/Lunch menu which is nice if you feel like breakfast items at noon.
Service and food at Lucy was excellent. We hVe been here a few time and both are consistentl
The food and service are always excellent. We have been there several times and will be back.
Yountville has no shortage of great restaurants and Lucy’s is definitely one of them! Beautiful, modern, decor; peaceful patio with a gentle fountain makes for a relaxing evening. Food is thoughtfully prepared and presented. We had the freshest oysters to start and then tried salmon and ahi tuna. Both were perfection. One thing I really like is that all the main courses come in a small plates size as well as a full dinner size. This allows for trying an appetizer without having too much food. We will certainly be back!
Awesome service, great ambiance and good food!
Food was great. Our service person was very nice.
Ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and atmosphere.
Restaurant is in a beautiful, if slightly sterile, modern space. Hard surfaces and high ceiling make for noisy ambiance — a real conversation killer. Food was expensive, but 5he wine prices were absolutely outrageously high. I saw one bottle that happened to be in my collection offered for nearly ten times what I paid for it. Service was overly — and I felt, falsely — friendly. Waiter tried to hustle us to buy a second glass of overpriced wine and couldn’t wait to clear the table, giving us a rushed feeling even though the place was not crowded when we were there.
Perfect from start to finish!
All the food and wine was wonerful. The lady that took our order was absolutley fantastic
