Loved every minute! We went for their Sunday Supper so the menu was pre-set (you choose between 2 entrees but starter & dessert are set) and it was amazing!!! I couldn’t get over how delicious our main was. But also the restaurant itself is lovely; the outside walls (and a lot of the courtyard inside) are covered in wines — it’s quite lovely. Our server, Isabelle, was also fantastic. I overheard a different server mention that there are a few regulars that come EVERY Sunday — I can understand why!! Wish we lived closer so could go more often.
This is one of my favorites restaurants in LA, food is great and the service is amazing ! I love Isabelle and Sarah and Rest of the staff is very attentive. I really recommend this restaurant 🍸❤️
I have never eaten inside. The service and food are quite good. I would suggest the patio area. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Clearly a reason they are coming up on 20 years in business.
Food and wine always impeccable. We always feel so relaxed and comfortable at Lucques. The space is so inviting and unpretentious.
Solid upscale dining experience. Food was exceptional.
Loved every aspect of our experience at Lucques! Beautiful space, every dish we had (especially the citrus salad) was so thoughtfully prepared and delicious and the service was outstanding (I think our server’s name was Sarah and she was fantastic). Will definitely recommend and return when we come back to LA.
Great birthday celebration!
Great lunch and business meeting. I knew the food & service were great from previous dinner visits, but this was really great for lunch.
Celebrating a birthday we had the Sunday supper and they happily accommodate our vegetarian diet. The food is always delicious and seasonal and the service outstanding. And the wine pairings are an easy way to try great wines you might not know.
Lucques NEVER NEVER fails. In addition to our own visits, this is the fourth or fifth time my husband and I have taken friends here for dinner -- they always walk away loving the atmosphere, enjoying the food, and thinking that it's one of the best places in LA that they've been. We've never had a single item from the menu that isn't great -- all of the starters are delicious, the main courses are solid and filling, and the specials are usually very interesting as well. Also, it's not super expensive -- with starter cocktails, a bottle of wine, two split salads, four entrees, and a cookie/confection board for dessert it was about $100/person. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Some of the staff were unsympathetic, others were sympathetic.
Both the duck breast and the halibut were outstanding. We enjoyed both on their beautiful, outside patio.
Great food and great wine list in an environment where I can actually HEAR my dining guests. Thanks for being sensitive to the aural experience of dining and not just the gastronomic.
The staff was a little tired at the end of the week.
I've always enjoyed Lucques, but this time we weren't that enamored of the main dish we each had. It was Sunday Supper, so we chose the shrimp dish. We both felt it was very mediocre--the flavors were not that tasty. Thankfully, the salad and dessert were excellent.
Everything was wonderful! What a gorgeous place! I live the ambience, the people and the food was outstanding!!!
The citrus and avocado salad is summer on a plate. Delicious. Perfect short ribs. Lovely time
Amazing, delicious, fabulous service!
Lucques always out does itself with premiere food combinations and discreet and excellent service. Matt is always gracious and welcoming, insuring that we are pleased with our evening and Isabel provides excellent wait service. The food always represents a seasonal focus with great details to subtle qualities. It's a great place to celebrate any special occasion. The Sunday evening prix fix menu is very reasonable and changes weekly.
service and food were impeccable. The French / middle eastern menu was as delicious as it sounds.
Best meal ever there.
Halibut was awesome. Nice sized portion. Perfect temperature and crust. Perfect sauce above and vegetables below. Scallop appetizer also great.
Service efficient and unobtrusive. Professionals. Typically at a restaurant you are lucky to be served by people who are well trained. Service was like a Michelin ***. Over ?7 years (visiting from Boston ) have been fond of the club steak which has been up and down.
We were a group of 5 in town for the weekend. Loved our dining experience here! Everyone had something different on the menu and everyone was impressed with the quality of the food. Creative but not overly complicated. Felt like a neighborhood restaurant that you would visit time and time again.
Wonderful service, food and ambience. Matt thoroughly spoiled us and we thank him for it.
This first visit did not disappoint. We were thrilled to try many of the items we've been cooking from the cookbooks. The lunchtime atmosphere is sublime, great music, attentive and friendly service :)
Warm, friendly service without being overly/intrusively attentive. Outstanding food (we enjoyed every bite) and loved the delicious and creative cocktails. The option to dine outside under a retractable canopy was a lovely setting. Dining room felt very intimate and loved the seating by the fireplace for cocktails before dinner.
Lucques has been my favorite restaurant for years and I remember why every time I eat there. Had the lamb with chorizo and it was simply divine. And you can have a quiet conversation which is a rarity in Los Angeles where restaurants tend to be extremely noisy. I always feel like I am in NYC at a West Village hideaway when I eat at Lucques.
great food. great location. great service. lovely atmosphere. not cheap, but worth it.
Very, very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back. Really delicious. Great wine service too.
Absolutely amazing flavors. Explosive taste in every bite. Service was exceptional. Will definitely come back! The cod was perfectly cooked and the salad with beet purée was spectacular with all the different textures and contrast.
Wonderful experience. The manager was very attuned to my allergies and everything came out perfectly.
Always terrific, though portions seem to have become smaller and prices seem to have become larger!
Eat regularly at the bar (ask for the bar menu too ;))) Drinks are far above average and always meet new folks with great stories and love of LA! Bartenders are great too! cheers
Lucques is a real grownup restaurant with always consistent good food, good service, and zero attitude despite the fact that showbiz types often frequent it -- some famous people were seated nearby the other night. I have been here numerous times and never had a bad meal. The service is terrific and the food simply yummy and satisfying. The price tag can be on the high side but it is definitely worth it, especially for special occasions (they spelled out Happy Birthday in chocolate on my friend's super chocolate-y dessert).
I have been dining at Lucques for many years and have never been disappointed. The food is
so creative and delicious; the servers are friendly and knowledgeable and the cocktails and
wines are first rate. A real Southern California treasure!
Lucques has been and remains one of my favorite restaurants. I typically go for Sunday Supper, and have never been disappointed.
Sarah our server made the night! I always say bad service can ruin a meal, but her great service was the high point of the Sunday supper. The bread was our favorite thing, and the little dish of olives and almonds. The potato tart was good, and so was the salmon. The cappuccino with the desert was a delight even though it took a long while to get. Ambiance was great. I’d ask for booth table next time because the two person table had no room for my clutch.
Outstanding
It was impossible to hear at the middle tables :( Portuguese pork and clams needed more seasoning as well, but scallops appetizer was delicious.
Incredible food.
Fun night, great waiter and staff. Food was very good.
