Went for my birthday. Monday night was relatively quiet, about 40% occupancy. Everything was excellent. Dessert was extraneous as we were all so full by the time it arrived but also delicious.
The food was amazing, but the service was poor! It took about our 20 minutes for our waiter to greet us.
First time coming in here. The ambiance is pretty casual. They have a small bar at the front. This place is good for all occasion. The food is amazing. Can't go wrong with starters. The pear dish was delish. For the main course I had the chicken. I thought it was a little big for me, but it's a good size for someone who likes big portions. Otherwise it was good. Lastly for dessert I had the chocolate torta and it was scrumptious. It was very rich in chocolate, but not heavy. I would definitely return to try the rib. I was told that's the most popular dish.
I am never disappointed with the quality of food and service whenever I dine at Lucques. The rotating menu has allowed me to try so many different delicious items. The appetizer salads are so refreshing. My favorite one has been any salad with pear!
The staff is beyond friendly, which makes the experience at Lucques that much more enjoyable!
I highly recommend treating yourself to an exquisite dinner at Lucques. And if you find yourself going there in the next few days, order yourself the hangar steak and an egg nog for dessert!
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The cozy, chic and nice but relaxed atmosphere make it a very special experience. The service is always friendly and professional. Finally the food it has been consistently great since the very first time I came few years ago. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. Las night I had cured arctic char on rye toast with mustard, beets, shaved fennel and crème fraîche it was outstanding! Fir my main I had a perfectly cooked salmon over greens and pomegranate to die for. This is a place to enjoy from beginning to the end.
Perfect birthday spot for my husband
I hadn't been to Lucques in a long time and I'm glad we went back. The food was delicious, service was excellent and the room is lovely... inviting and you can hear yourself speak.
My only disappointment was no holiday decorations - :)
This is my first night dinner spot whenever I’m in LA. Love sitting at the bar, talking to the easy going and highly efficient bartenders and servers. Of course the main attraction is the food which is always superb. Seasonal, locally sourced and Mediterranean-inspired, looking at the menu you don’t worry so much about what you’ll choose as you do about what things you’ll have to omit.
our happiest happy place, always. just the best.
The food was unique and delicious. Our server, Sarah, was excellent! She was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.
Every time I go to Lucques it is an amazing experience.
Lucques is an old classic that continues to serve seasonal foods cooked with imagination and verve. It is rare today to find a restaurant that you can return to time and time again and be assured that (in the best sense of the words) nothing has changed and that another superb meal awaits.
Lovely food, great service
Most of the food was not well prepared. Unfortunately, we won’t go back again.
Daughter’s passing bar
One of my favorite restaurants, anywhere. Will return again and again. Thank you.
I had the loveliest dinner at Lucques with an old friend I hadn't seen in 40 years! We had the most amazing meal. My friend, who lives in San Francisco, couldn't stop talking about how much she loved the food. Thank you Lucques for once again making my dining experience so special.
food/service/ambiance very good, except the mail course. We ordered veal and it was not a great quality of meat. Otherwise, everything else was excellent!
We've been to Lucques numerous times and we were particularly excited about this event celebrating LA food. However, the entire evening felt rushed and crowded. We were stuck at table near the bathrooms. No one explained the dishes as they were put down. The staff (who are truly wonderful!) seemed overwhelmed. Given the expensive price of the meal, we found the entire experience underwhelming and disappointing.
Suzanne and Carolyn were super friendly and chatty. The ambiance, food and wine were sublime!! Too bad Nancy and Jessica weren’t there too, but Jon and Vinny’s ribs were seriously killer great!!!!!!
This is a restaurant that has maintained impeccable standards throughout the years. Tonight was no different. A pleasure in every way.
Went there for our anniversary dinner. Had heard how great it was, and had experienced their cuisine at the Hollywood Bowl. We were both quite disappointed on several levels. Waiters were not attentive and seemed to be uninterested in taking care of us. Drinks took forever, husbands salmon was under cooked, (sent it back twice). Unattended with dirty plates on the table for quite a while after we'd finished main course. Tables on top of each other. Unfortunately, am fully aware of the political stance of the group next to us (could provide details)! SO noisy. My impression is that they have internalized their hype, and so feel they can get away with just about anything. Sad.
I have NEVER had a bad meal or dining experience at Lucques. It remains my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles!
We came for Sunday dinner. Simple, good tasting meal. Service is highly professional.
Lucques knocks it out of the park, as it always does. A friendly greeting at reception, quant autumnal decorations, impeccable and delightful service from Isabelle, and a delicious Dia de Los Muertos Sunday Supper menu (the rice with that shrimp - YUM). Bravo, Lucques. You never disappoint.
Spectacular meal and service. Suzanne Goin is truly a genius. It is hard to find a restaurant in Los Angeles that is serving complete, well balanced dishes. The star of the evening was the stuffed chicken ball with brown butter chestnuts. The technique that goes into de-boning a chicken leg, stuffing it, and wrapping it in caul fat is remarkable. Her food is so comforting yet elevated and makes you want to keep coming back. Thank you so much for the amazing meal.
Once again a tasty sunday dinner with exquisite detail to subtle flavors. Wine pairings, along with the explanations of each wine make for a tasty evening. As always we appreciate the warm environment and friendly staff who stop by the table to chat briefly during the evening.
We had the Sunday supper which is always good but this time was extraordinarily good. Our guests loved it. The service as usual was impeccable. I like the new Middle-eastern emphasis.
It was a wonderful experience and I’m glad to have been.
Fresh in season ingredients incorporated into inspiring and delicious dishes.
My eighth time to dine at Lucques and first time for Sunday night supper. It was just as it should be--relaxing and cozy with delicious food and drink.
I had at the hanger steak and didn't like the way the dish was prepared. The steak flavors were overwhelmed by all the other parts of the dish. My husband, on the other hand, liked his main course. We both enjoyed our appetizers and dessert -- the ricotta cheesecake. This is a great restaurant. Quiet early in the evening with great service and ambience.
I love Sunday Supper at Lucques! I brought my mother this past Sunday and now she wants to make it a weekly tradition. Thanks Lucques for being consistently amazing!
Always a wonderful night
Great!! One of the LA’s finest dining experiences. We’re lucky to have it.
Always great food and service. One of our favorites
Lucques is hands down my favorite restaurant in los an angeles.
Perfect service! Perfect meal! Unwavering commitment to excellence, outwardly effortless at Lucques.
