Excellent ambiance, exquisite food and attentive service. The patio on a summer night in LA was beyond gorgeous. I will be back again!
This place is perfect in every way. We both had the soft shelled crab for lunch. I had a glass of white burgundy. Service was relaxed but right on point. We lingered and felt welcome. The decor is adult and attractive. Not trendy and noisy like many LA restaurants.
I liked that they allowed me to order a dish normally only served at the bar in the evenings (hanger steak with fries). Was delicious. Not a fan of the health care tip that the automatically add on. I typically leave 20% tip but only left 15% tip as I’m not going to leave a 25% tip. Next up...are they going to add on for the cost of their tablecloth cleaning service?
Lucques never disappoints! A menu that truly has something unique for everyone!
Excellent service! Wine paring was great! I would recommend to all my friends.
The Sunday Night suppers have to be one of the best deals in town and the value is phenomenal for the level of food and service one receives. Lucques sets the bar high and they meet my expectations every single time. Simply great food, lovely service and warm ambiance and staff.
Everything was superb. Interesting cocktail menu, tasty appetizers, and excellent main courses (we chose the seared albacore and lamb ribs). Split an exceptional dessert - french cruller with hazlenut and cardamom ice cream. Can't wait to return.
my wife and I shared the appetizers of a soft shell crab and the stone fruit , strachitella, proscuitto, walnuts and arugla. She had the fig leaf wrapped Canadian cod and I had the squab with corn pudding. Service was attentive. My wife ordered a Manhattan which she also complimented the bar tender. Overall one of the best meals that we have had
What a disappointment. Service was pitiful. Took forever for our waiter to first serve us, yet there were empty tables everywhere. Had to ask for bread three times. Good luck getting your wine refilled from the expensive bottles you ordered. Regulars we were with said the food was the worst they had ever had there. I ordered two Amaris on there after dinner drink it’s. They had neither. The place was so loud we could not hold a conversation. I was so anxious to eat here for the first time. The worst meal I have had this year.
Everything was absolutely fantastic. Hands down, the best in LA.
Great food and service as always. One of our favorite places.
Lucques was quiet with lovely background music. Our server was excellent. Our appetizer soup was wonderful as was our dessert of brûlée’s ricotta cheesecake. They were the highlights of our meal. My husbands very small soft shell crab was tasty but the layers of accoutrements took away from the crab.
My paillard of chicken on a bed of eggplant mousse was fine but nothing special. I wouldn’t necessarily return to Lucques.
I had the Icelandic cod special and it was delicious! My server, Sarah, recommendation the perfect glass of white wine to accompany the fish.
The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive.
I’m looking forward to my next meal there.
Just a "good" place...
Food was good for the most part, definitely not anything great that you need to return to.
Ambiance was cozy, nice. Kept everything inside (no patio seating) with the low business level that night. Support staff was good. Server was an order taker and lacked knowledge on products they carry on the their menu. Manager was just there, not engaged with the service nor the guests. Service is non-existent towards the end of their hours of operations as everyone is focused on closing side works. A typical poor trend. It's unfortunate that the owner needs to involve the dining guests to help pay for employee benefits (if that is actually where the money is going) with California labor cost.
Food was very good. I had a grape salad that was awesome with a grain cracker made from several grains.
Superb, food and service
Terrific, intimate Melrose restaurant offering unique examples of Californian cuisine. Starters (summer fruit, heirloom tomatoes) were outstanding, as were main courses (hanger steak, braised beef short ribs). For dessert, the chocolate parfait is truly scrumptious. Overall, a peak dining experience.
Outstanding food--especially the scallops with black rice. We ate on the patio, which was quiet and beautiful. Since the last time I was here, the wine prices have become outrageous, with many bottles over $100 (some at $600). It was hard to find a bottle in the $60 range. Moral: bring your own wine and pay the corkage fee.
excellent service great food!! and very cozy!! and everyone very nice price outstanding!
Food was outstanding - best ever and always new items on menu and service was impeccable.
Love Lucques. The tomato salad is delicious. Back for this every year. And love the cocktails by Christian - had some fabulous cocktails the night before that I thought were excellent, then at Lucques, Christian’s take it to another level - beautiful balanced. A real art.
My friend and I were given gift certificates for dinner at Lucques. Why? Because our
out of town mutual friend asked what she could give us for Christmas. It is absolutely one of our
favorite restaurants and we're both locals !! It is always a treat and never disappoints. Thank you again for a memorable evening.
The music and volume perfect! Service was impeccable and food delicious!!
A restaurant I was waiting to go to for a while and I think it was worth the wait. I was there for Sunday supper and I got the wine pairing with it. The menu was priced very well along with the wines and the servers were attentive and but still very approachable and kind.
Everyone in our table enjoyed the food from appetizer to dessert, this was a Sunday Supper menu. The fresh fish was Merluccius / Hake was excellent. The gnocchi was delicious and flavorful, cooked just right. The soft lighting and quiet ambience was soothing. The sommelier was amazing, really impressive with his knowledge on the wine pairings.
The Sunday Supper is a great evening of delicious and freshly prepared food. The cod this weekend was tender and very tasty. The pairing to the meal are also a treat with wonderful comments from the wine steward which add greatly to the experience. As always the staff is attentive and helpful with great suggestions for meals.
Server Isabelle was wonderful.
Always amazing food, attentive waitpersonsz
Whenever we’re in LA for more than a few days we try to go to Lusques one of our favorites.
fFood perfect-- staff wonderful Everything perfect!! A lovely spot beautifully done
Sunday supper is always excellent.
Really good food and service, happen to pick it by accident, what a gem of a place. We will be back.
First of all we love this restaurant. Food and service are top notch. My only complaint is the time that they opened on a Friday night. We made a 6:00 pm early reservation because we had an 8:00 show to make. Our driver got us there 15 minutes prior and the doors were not open. The valet indicated that they don’t open until 6. We roamed around Melrose for a bit . Then came back at 6 , doors were still locked. Finally opened a few minutes later. Just won’t make a first time slot reservations again. Once we got in it was great as usual.
I have been to Lucques several times and each the time the food never disappoints! The service this visit was a little off but overall another great experience!
The food at Lucques is always delicious. Enjoyed my Heirloom Tomato Salad with Feta and Harissa and Slow-Roasted Salmon with Cucumber, Beet and Green Goddess Dressing. Looking forward to Rib Fest next month.
The food is just ok
The dessert which was a stone fruit cobbler had no fruit in it
Would not return
Still wonderful after all these years. Every time I have dinner at Lucques, I leave asking why I don't dine here more often. Everything is superb: Food, wine, service, setting. And always an eclectic mix of people.
Delicious meal - went for the Bastille Day Sunday Supper and had some beautiful plates (tomato tartine, steak tartare, strawberry and ricotta creme crepe.) Even the bread was terrific. I highly recommend the Sunday Supper nights. The bar manager is magical, and knows how to complement any dish -- or simply make a tasty cocktail.
We always celebrate Bastille Day. Sadly, we don’t always get to do it in France. But the dinner this evening was quintessentially French in spirit. We had, as we always do, an excellent experience. You don’t have to wait for a special occasion to enjoy yourself here. They will make whatever day it is a special occasion.
