Amazing food and service.
Delicious dinner and service.
They made all the people who arrived with reservations all wait before seating which was odd.
The food was disappointing. Not at all worth the price. I was completely underwhelmed.
The Sunday Prix Fixe Menu is a special treat and incredible bargin. The prawns or beef made for delicious choices as the main. Service is very individualized. It's worth getting the wine pairings just to learn the intimate details of each wine accompanying the course. Staff as always in gracious and creates a warm and caring environment in which to dine. We are repeat diners who find it an excellent way to spend Sunday evenings.
The best pear salad I’ve ever had in my life. The apple fritter is closer to a chewy donut but also the best apple and ice cream combo ever. It is a well orchestrated symphony of flavors and textures that makes you want to meet the chef to find out how he figured it all out.
Music was too loud even after requesting that it be turned down. Had a veggie lasagna that was overpriced and just ok.
Exceptionally nice staff, prompt service.
I was there for New Year’s Eve.
I love Lucques, the room, the people, and usually the food. Perhaps my NYE expectations were too high. Love a prix fix for the holiday. I wanted a curated evening! We appreciated the flexibility to seat us in the main room rather than the garden, upon request. The scallop carpaccio didn’t send me. The start off with no ‘amuse buche’ (but yes, terrific bread and almonds and olives) after spending $200 per person plus drinks seemed chintzy. Same sense of not quite enough generosity with no start off of a complimentary wine or that the champagne complimentary toast was held only for midnight. (We missed it, and all the ‘fun’ and party favor — it was not offered to guests who departed early.) Just not quite enough grace for the event. The music was grand — loved it. We were four; we did not sit and kvetch about the food. (Even the dessert, which none of us particularly liked.) We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. (We did comment to one another the next morning about our minor disappointments.) But the place and the intent and our own company made it all work. Just sorry that it was not quite all I wanted it to be (with out of town guests)— even knowing that NYE comes with over-the -top expectations. Will we come again? Of course! For New Year’s? Not so sure.
Best dinner I have had in years. Pear appetizer was light and perfectly dressed. The suckling pig was heavenly, and the short rib is what Lucques is rightfully known for. Lemon and pomegranate dessert was a terrific surprise. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny. And great hospitality.
1st Wedding Anniversary - Experience was wonderful!
Overall Great dining experience. The food was excellent, combined with the ourstanding service, we couldn't have had a better evening. Nice music in the background was most pleasing.
Amazing food as always but the waiter forgot about us after we weren't initially ready to order, and my salad was overdressed and the dishes were not as interesting or creative as I have experienced previously.
Outstanding in every way!
We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner with delicately flavored courses, great combinations of fresh local ingredients and wonderful service.
One of our favorite places for a romantic meal with great food, warm atmosphere, and a friendly staff. Easy location, valet parking. Perfect. Then a short hop down to the Beverly Center for some shopping.
Never disappoints. Took friends who had never been there. Good value on Sunday supper menu.
I love this restaurant
Food is good service is good everything is perfect
Every dish from salmon, cod, chicken to pork was fantastic. Season was just perfect and not overly or underly salted. Great meal. The prices are on the high end. Most entree dishes are low to mid $40. Be prepared to spend.
Lucques never disappoints. Well run, friendly weight service, food is phenomenal delicious thoughtful presented beautifully and not the same as every other restaurant.
Exceptional and tasty dishes. We thought the black cod was outstanding. Service was attentive and friendly. Overall a first class meal.
It was a birthday celebration. The food was outstanding, as was the service. We asked if there were heaters on the patio, as it was a chilly day, but the hostess said they had not been turned on (we arrived at 1:00 pm), so she seated us in a booth in front. But one of the servers shortly afterward told us that the heaters were on. Other than that, we had a lovely time — we were even given 3 little cookies with a candle for the birthday girl.
Very cold table.
Although the sound level was ENERGETIC and that can be nice at first. It was a bit loud as one needs to be able to hear each other while having conversations.
Otherwise one of our favorite places in the city and world!
As always excellent!
Lucques is reliable and well managed. Great cocktail menu and wine selection. Food is quite good though I was not a fan of my black cod in oyster stew entree. Skin was not crisped and the oyster stew was fishy and overpowered the delicate black cod (sturgeon).
Price and portion size have gone in opposite directions here. Arctic Char appetizer for $22 dollars was minuscule.
Went for my birthday. Monday night was relatively quiet, about 40% occupancy. Everything was excellent. Dessert was extraneous as we were all so full by the time it arrived but also delicious.
The food was amazing, but the service was poor! It took about our 20 minutes for our waiter to greet us.
First time coming in here. The ambiance is pretty casual. They have a small bar at the front. This place is good for all occasion. The food is amazing. Can't go wrong with starters. The pear dish was delish. For the main course I had the chicken. I thought it was a little big for me, but it's a good size for someone who likes big portions. Otherwise it was good. Lastly for dessert I had the chocolate torta and it was scrumptious. It was very rich in chocolate, but not heavy. I would definitely return to try the rib. I was told that's the most popular dish.
I am never disappointed with the quality of food and service whenever I dine at Lucques. The rotating menu has allowed me to try so many different delicious items. The appetizer salads are so refreshing. My favorite one has been any salad with pear!
The staff is beyond friendly, which makes the experience at Lucques that much more enjoyable!
I highly recommend treating yourself to an exquisite dinner at Lucques. And if you find yourself going there in the next few days, order yourself the hangar steak and an egg nog for dessert!
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The cozy, chic and nice but relaxed atmosphere make it a very special experience. The service is always friendly and professional. Finally the food it has been consistently great since the very first time I came few years ago. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. Las night I had cured arctic char on rye toast with mustard, beets, shaved fennel and crème fraîche it was outstanding! Fir my main I had a perfectly cooked salmon over greens and pomegranate to die for. This is a place to enjoy from beginning to the end.
Perfect birthday spot for my husband
I hadn't been to Lucques in a long time and I'm glad we went back. The food was delicious, service was excellent and the room is lovely... inviting and you can hear yourself speak.
My only disappointment was no holiday decorations - :)
This is my first night dinner spot whenever I’m in LA. Love sitting at the bar, talking to the easy going and highly efficient bartenders and servers. Of course the main attraction is the food which is always superb. Seasonal, locally sourced and Mediterranean-inspired, looking at the menu you don’t worry so much about what you’ll choose as you do about what things you’ll have to omit.
our happiest happy place, always. just the best.
The food was unique and delicious. Our server, Sarah, was excellent! She was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.
Every time I go to Lucques it is an amazing experience.
Lucques is an old classic that continues to serve seasonal foods cooked with imagination and verve. It is rare today to find a restaurant that you can return to time and time again and be assured that (in the best sense of the words) nothing has changed and that another superb meal awaits.
Lovely food, great service
