I love the food at Lucky, and enjoy the atmosphere. They are well-known for their cocktails. It gets quite busy/crowded and thus noisy pretty easily though, so not ideal for much of a group.
Always great service, best food in Roanoke and great drinks.
Delicious food and a good wine list. Service was great. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Portions were good for the prices.
Dinner , Cocktails and Service were amazing!! Scallops , fried chicken and the Brussels sprouts were delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
We were running late on NYE and they were still so accommodating and kind- sat us promptly and the whole experience was fantastic. This is our favorite spot in Roanoke- the cocktails are delightful and the food delicious. Our waiter was amazing per usual.
This place is a gem. You could walk right by if you aren't paying attention. The noise was a bit loud but that's only because it was so busy and such a great restaurant. They have local everything! And also have the BEST craft cocktails in the city. I recommend the Smoking Show (or smoke show).
Lucky is one of our absolute favorite downtown restaurants.
We ate a Lucky while stopping through Roanoke. It was pretty delicious. My SO got the pork shoulder and I got the scallops. They both were delicious. Wine selection could be a bit better, and my cocktail was bit strongly mixed, which I normally don't mind truthfully. (just stating to be prepared haha :) It was a bit busy so I'd suggest getting a reservation. It was a great dinner and I would definitely recommend Lucky.
Amazing as always
Shishito peppers are excellent. Cocktails and wine selection were very good.
Great service and fresh tasty menu. Nice selection of salads and appetizers. Specials too offered for entree.
Never disappointed with the menu, craft cocktails and service! Lucky is my favorite restaurant in Roanoke.
The absolute, most fabulous place to have a meal and a cocktail in the star city.
Always great. Staff are incredible. Highly recommend.
Always always the best cocktails. The entrees are impeccable. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent. Comfortable setting. Good Service. A happening place which creates a somewhat noisy setting for conversation. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Can certainly recommend it.
As always, a perfect evening!
We dined at Lucky two nights ago. Once again, we were not disappointed. The hostess warmly greeted us (I'd made a reservation) directed us to our booth. The server was very cordial and gracious. I think the manager delivered our appetizer. We had the cheese board and fried brussel sprouts as appetizers. The main meal for my husband and son was the Special of the Day - Striped Bass on a bed of rice, with pureed squash and some chili puree. My meal was the Roasted Beet and Spinach salad. All the food was excellent. It was the first time my husband and I had seen our son eat all his meal, in a very long time!
We really enjoy dining at Lucky and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
This was our second time at Lucky's and certainly won't be the last. Excellent food (order the Caesar Salad!), knowledgeable wait-staff, expansive bar, and cozy surroundings. What’s not to love!
Everything was fantastic. 5th annual couples Christmas Shopping weekend. Traveled from 2 hours away. 3 couples. All very experienced diners with high degree of food IQ. 2 of the gentleman work in the specialty food industry and 2 of the individuals have worked in the fine dining environment. Walking distance from Hotel Roanoke. Jeremiah, our server, was passionate, knowledgeable and engaging. Made some great craft cocktails recommendations. Apps we tried consisted of charred brussel sprouts with bacon, roasted marrow bones, mussels, and the best raw oysters I’ve ever eaten. 3 varieties. Very fresh. Also had the blistered shoshito peppers which seem to have become popular at various dining establishments over 2018. They were okay, but nothing special. Entrees included ribeyes, scallops, pork shoulder and striped bass. Bass was underwhelming, but everything else was prepared to perfection. Pricey, but it’s hard to find great food, impeccable service , and ambiance in a single dining experience. Lucky exceeded the mark!
This was our second time at Lucky and we went another couple. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful in making suggestions on both drinks and entrée choices. They have a great variety in their drink menu and the bartenders are top notch. When the food came the table was quiet because we all were thoroughly enjoying the delicious food. We each got something different and each were blown away — the scallops were fantastic, the pork shoulder was amazing, the lamb was delicious the fried chicken is a classic comfort dish.
Lucky was a treat for 5 of us who came from Louisville,ky for a wedding later in the weekend. The food was outstanding and the service was equally excellent. We’d definitely recommend it to others.
We enjoyed our night out at Lucky. Our waiter, Jeremiah was outstanding and friendly. Food was unique and our Virginia sourced oysters were wonderful. If you are a bourbon fan I highly suggest getting a cube with your bourbon. It takes sipping to a new level and flavor.
Excellent waiter. Very fun, knowledge, great sales approach.
Interesting menu. Would not be expected . Each of our meals was enjoyed and value priced. Gets a bit noisy after 7:30
Was rushed by server at 9pm with a full restaurant. Excellent cocktails. Scallops we’re a touch under cooked.
Great night at great place 5+ review in every aspect! Our first time there while visiting Roanoke and we will definitely be back again.
Loved this place. Great feel. Delicious food. Amazing craft cocktails.
Fantastic Dinner. Great Ambience. Friendly Service.
Not knowing much about Roanoke, I was looking for a restaurant near the Hampton Inn. I made reservations about a week ahead of time, and so glad I did. My friend and I both had the scallops which were divine. Next time I come to Roanoke, I will certainly eat here again.
Lucky is always amazing. Great food. Awesome bartenders. Perfect atmosphere!!
Great Birthday Dinner!
Our DIL requested Lucky for her birthday dinner and we were all very pleased with her choice. We had not been there for some time and were very impressed. We enjoyed delicious cocktails before dinner - and for appetizers we ordered mussels (yum) and bread plate - both excellent. Entrees were scallops, lamb shank and pork shoulder - all great selections. Our table was outside the main room which suited us very well as it is a bit quieter than the bar side of the restaurant. Service was efficient and not hovering.
We will definitely be back to Lucky again soon.
Great food and quaint place. Service was excellent along with drinks and food. I love the atmosphere and bar area
From the cocktails to dinner it was excellent. Whitney was our server and she was very engaging and professional
Very much enjoyed our dinner at Lucky. Our waitress was one of a kind in terms of personality, knowledge of food and fantastic service. She made the night so much better. Food was great, uniquely paired with sides and options. Would definitely return when in Roanoke.
I have entertained several for business and have made a very good impression. Thank you.
Came here for our first wedding anniversary and had an unmatched dining experience. Beyond the food, which was incredible down to the last bite, the service is what really through the experience to the next level. Jeremiah was our server and could not have been more kind and observant. The gentleman who sat us was also so kind, going into great detail about some of the offerings of the evening. We sat for 2 hours and never felt rushed. Can't wait to return on the next special occasion.
Overpriced with mediocre food. Expensive watered down cocktails. If you are going to spend the money I would have rather gone to Frankie Roland's
Our son is home from the Navy. We wanted to take him somewhere good. He has been to many wonderful restaurants in his travels. We needed to find a “worthy” dining experience here. The signature cocktails really add to the experience. He thoroughly enjoyed the lamb while his dad had the ribeye and I stick with the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! We shared our meals after a couple of appetizers of oysters and a cheese board.
Always a wonderful experience at Lucky’s!
