The room is loud. The tables are close the ambience makes you feel as though your in Paris.....and I love it!!! The food is good and always consistent. This Soho gem has been around for awhile and still going strong. The staff is friendly and courteous. It can be very noisy at times, but it’s soooo charming who cares. It’s my go to spot when I what to meet friends and can’t decide where to go.
You should not expect 5 star dining or 5 star food going to Lucky Strike. This is a place you go if you're hungry and there's nothing else around (which in NYC is a rarity). The food at Lucky Strike is mediocre & nothing to write home about. They have a pasta dish that is very good but loaded with salt & cream (which is probably the reason why it tastes so good - the dish is the Rigatoni with sausage). Our server was gruff but got the job done - there isn't a hostess so it's a bit confusing trying to sit down. The worst part about the ambiance are the two tops on the right hand side of the restaurant - they're crammed up against one another and it's very difficult to hold a conversation. I found the steak frites to be pretty bland in flavor but the prices are decent. I guess you get what you pay for! Overall, I won't be returning unless treated. The front of the restaurant is much cuter than the back, there are no windows in the back of the restaurant so it feels stuffy.
Lucky Strike is right in the heart of Soho, was able to adjust between 6-10 people as the reservation kept changing (from our side) on the day-of, is the same owners of Balthazar, had good food and great service, and was a perfect middle of downtown good bet where not much can go wrong (which it can with a table of 10).
Always bustling, but the staff is so friendly. Delicious food, great ambiance. A fave.
nice local everyday long time spot. love it. never changes, always the comfort food.
The waiter was incredibly nice without being overbearing, the food was perfect, and the overall dining experience unbelievable. I love this place.
We made our annual pilgrimage to celebrate our anniversary. The service we received was so-so, my drink was left empty for 30+ minutes, and my meal came out extremely over cooked/burnt. Will wait til next year...
Restaurant was great but they didn’t have our open table reservation -_-
Service was very slow, we were waiting for every steps of the meal from the table to the check. The salmon was undercooked. Tables are packed in the dining room and no coat racks so you are all over your neighbors. Other than that, this was a very fun lively dinner location. They did also give us a complimentary glass of champagne while waiting for our table.
This was the second time my lady and I dined at Lucky Strike and we had tried Balthazar on numerous occasions also and we are very pleased with both venues ! Food is excellent , service top notch, drinks are excellently prepared! We would not hesitate to recommend or return to either place!😊
My girlfriend and I were completely satisfied with everything at Lucky Strike! The drinks were well done and our menu choices turned out to be perfect! We would go back anytime! We were just as thrilled with Balthazar! Thank you!
Met some friends for lunch. We live in the neighborhood. Nothing fancy but food is good. Seats along the back wall a little uncomfortable. Chairs at tables better to sit at. There was a birthday party so a bit noisy.
Amazingly good humored and totally accommodating even as our guest list doubled from 6 to 12 at the last minute on a Friday night. The food is scrumptious for vegetarians and Carnegie’s alike and the dessert was excellen. The staff was super gracious while at the giving New York realness. This place is classic and it’s good to see it hasn’t changed in all the years I’ve known it.
This restaurant is just too noisy, unless hollering over noise is what you crave. Could not hear my friend two feet away. Although the waiter was very friendly and helpful, the food was average. The chef seemed to think that ordinary, undercooked green beans were a good substitute for haricots verts. Definitely not for foodies.
run down... noisy... very mediocre food. all in all, not a place to which I would return!
Food selection was ok. Food was terrible. Felt dirty. Always wanted to eat there big disappointment.
Very good food (steak pepper sauce and great french fries) and good service, very friendly
We loved our date at Lucky Strike. My girlfriend had the Eggs Norwegian and I️ opted for the onion soup and frites. It was all utterly fabulous. And the atmosphere was super relaxed and friendly. If you’re in the mood for French bistro food, give it a try!
Ate at Lucky Strike before a show at Performing Garage. Service was excellent and the food was even better. Would highly recommend.
Food was solid. Steak and frites were particularly good. Would go again.
Lucky Strike feels like your most comfortable outfit ever. Easy to slip into and comfortable for the entire time you have it on. The service was attentive and friendly, the food served efficiently and all was terrific. Could not have been more enjoyable.
This was such a disappointment. Our food was terrible. The sauce on the eggs looked so fake and disgusting. The turkey burger was so dry and tasteless I can't believe this is a McNally restaurant. The server was. Nice and friendly. Other than that I would never go back.
Everything was fine but strangely not busy on a beautiful Sunday.
I hadn't been to the Lucky Strike in over 20 years. My baby cousin recently moved to the city and I wanted to take her to lunch so I immediately remembered this spot and figured she'd like it because I enjoyed it so long ago. The food was deelish, their assortment of beer is great. The atmosphere is casual and not stuffy at all. We had great service, our waitress was very knowledgeable and super sweet. I'm glad I went back even though it took a long time, I was happy with everything like I was over 20 years ago.
Our old time favorite- always fantastic
Always a great meal that reminds me of some of my favorite cafe's in Paris--- nice NYC old charm!
Food and service were terrific - we had an early reservation and restaurant was relatively quiet. The noise level slowly rose as the crowds gathered! It was a fun spot and we would go back again!
What a gem of a place! Great atmosphere and fantastic service by Jose. The food was fabulous and Lucky Strike was our favorite dining spot in our 5 night stay. Will definately return!
Great casual soho bistro. Nice looking place with good food. The service was fast and attentive. Will definitely come back.
Best restaurant we ate at the entire time in NYC. Staff is super friendly. Must get the warm apple crumble. And the mint lemonade cocktail. Highly recommend. Will be visiting every time we come into town.
The Lucky Strike has an interesting atmosphere. I've been going here for 20 years. It's on my must visit list just about every time we go to NYC. This trip was Saturday brunch. The menu has a variety of unique selections. Everything I've ever eaten there was well prepared and tasty. The service is quick, efficient, and friendly. Great place to eat.
I am a long time fan and recommend it often. I love the atmosphere and vibe and the staff is always sweet and upbeat. I really wish they had some vegan options which I as a vegan feel is a big miss.
This looks like a quiet bistro, but it sounds like a sports bar on superbowl Sunday. I don't know if it's the acoustics or the clientele, but I couldn't hear myself think. Come if you don't really want to talk to your dinner partner. Service and food were good, if you don't mind yelling to place an order.
I have been going there for years and it has been consistantly great. It has a totally hip Soho vibe with a genuine French bistro feel. Great food and service at moderate prices.
If I were Keith McNally I'd sell this one before it brings down his other restaurants.
Nice place for a burger and a beer - or more, like a steak, if you like. It can get loud, so not the place to go for a quiet conversation. But if you're looking for good food and a place with energy, Lucky Strike is a good pick.
An old favorite that never disappoints, in food ,drink, and atmosphere
Great neighborhood hang out.
Always a great atmosphere, help is friendly, food is good, prices are reasonable. A little taste of Paris in NYC.
Great place for afternoon with a neighborhood charm and chat with locals.
