It was outstanding! We were there for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and they went out of their way to make it a special night! Kudos to the chef and staff for a wonderful experience. Cheers!
The best vegan dish I have had!!! Thanks to the chef for creating such an amazing dish for me!!!
One of the best restaurants on the island. Interesting and changing menu makes this dining spot special. They have a great beer and wine selection. My only criticism is the wines by the glass pour isn’t comparable to other fine restaurants on the island.
What an experience! A delightful menu. Superb wait staff. So knowledgeable and helpful! The owner cooked our meal with special requests! The owner also came to our table to welcome us. The best!
We’ve been eating at the Lucky Rooster since they opened. We stay on HHI for 3 months each year and have dinner there numerous times each visit. We bring guests there and recommend the place to those looking for a nice meal. Husband loves the porchetta (when available) and perloo is a favorite. A good salad and a fresh local fish entree always a hit.
Other than the fact that there were two large groups...who were having lots of fun so they were noisy...the restaurant, food, service were all very good.
Bland tasting fried chicken; overpriced menu. Good service and good ambience.
Super food, super service...great place! Will go back again and again! Fresh, creative and well served.
Food was great. Service was great. Ambiance was great. Had a great time and will definitely come back.
We dined at the Lucky Rooster on a busy Saturday night. During our visit, the bar fell behind with our drink order., which seemed like a poor start. But wait. The front of house manager handled the situation with great tact and paid for our round while delivering the drinks that were slightly delayed. Great save! We were impressed that such a detail had not missed her attention even while the place was jumping.
Our food that evening was delicious and we will return again. The food is great and the quality of service sets this local eatry ahead of the competition. Well done!
Good for foodies
pop-up dinner was outstanding, especially the not new england clam chowder!
Very fun place with excellent food. Realize that this is not a fried chicken joint. The cocktails are a little pricey. Bar staff was awesome.
Birthday. Nothing offered though mentioned
The menu had a great variety of food. Steak was cooked to perfection. The pimento cheese spread and deep fried saltine crackers were delicious! Who would think that Captain Crunch ice cream would be so good?
Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Special nods to the crab and shrimp rice and the fried chicken. There was some confusion as to who our server was when we were seated leaving us “orphaned” for a while. When they realized the error the chef appeared and guided us through an excellent dining experience. A wonderful evening all around.
They should rename this “The Lucky Diners” as this place always hits it out of the park. From the expertly prepared hand crafted cocktails (a “perfect” Manahattan for me), to the service and menu choices, TLR always delivers. A “must eat at restaurant” while on island.
Very nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Menu is very different. If you are a pickie eater this might not be the place for you.
Food very good. $12 for glass of house white wine and $16 for appetizer is a bit pricey
Love this place, menu changes often. Always Farm fresh and delicious. Bar is also a fun place.
This place is wonderful attention given to every detail the food was delicious had to order a bread basket to enjoy every drop of the sauce
Service was outstanding
Good food, good service, fun menu
Another great Lucky Rooster experience in every way. It remains one of the island's best restaurants! Highly recommended!
Great dining experience. Staff rocked. Owner took time to stop by and have a friendly chat. Definitely will return. Good spin on southern food. Definitely good for foodies.
Great wine finds and conversation with Clayton the owner and chef. This made our night with friends from out of town. Unusually quiet since it was the day after Valentine’s but we had a wonderful time.
The braised lamb shanks were exceptional. Meat literally fell off the bone but retained essential moistness. Merlot reduction and accompanying items complemented the lamb perfectly. Particularly high marks go to the roasted cauliflower. The service was professional and attentive but pleasantly casual. The owner chatted amiably with diners at virtually every table, treating us like guests - not just customers.
Enjoyed the food. Decor was a bit dated. I’d go again.
The food is good and very inventive. However, we found the menu limited with just one offering of most main dishes such as steak, chicken, fish, etc. Proportions are very good.
I took the plunge and could not resist the opportunity to try the Pappy V. Expensive but a very good experience. Food was good but a little pricey. Service did not live up to our expectations.
Great place. Food and service was excellent. Will certainly be back.
Party of four all ordered off Restaurant Week menu. Great bargain and enjoyed a sampling of several really wonderful local dishes.
Great atmosphere and service. The food presentation was a bit overdone with the food being quite good but the roasted Brussel sprouts were not cooked well enough and were chewy and not seasoned well.
Chicken pot pie was excellent. My friends choice was good but not excellent.
We loved this place. Very homey and comfortable. The food is great.
Lots of fun.
Another fantastic meal with service to match. Paul at the bar mixes up the best concoctions and has a rare sense of providing interesting ingredients and the results are astounding. While Clayton was away, Drew was working his magic in the kitchen with the crew. It is obvious the essential ingredient in each dish is a heaping helping of love.
Excellent meal and evening- a cozy yet enough upscale spot to satisfy everyone!
Enjoyed our time at the restaurant. My husband loved the Bourbon selection
Good wines too. A little disappointed with the main course for restaurant week. Apps were wonderful. I look forward to going back and try the regular menu.
Food was very well prepared. Service was exceptional
We live at HHI part-time -how did we miss this restaurant for so long?? Tried two of their draught craft cocktails (yes, cocktails) and they were both delicious! Tried two appetizers (one was a special of the day) and two entrees and loved all of it. This is a creative "cheffy" farm -to-table and very sophisticated place (but with a cozy, casual atmosphere). We have now added this to our list of "regulars."
Went for an item listed in their online menu and it was not available Advertised as Southern Soul. Had a pigs head on the menu. Extremely overpriced for the portions provided. Will not return and will not recommend to others.
