We had what seemed to be a new server - not that he got anything wrong, but he just didn't seem very confident. Three women one table away from ours seemed to be having trouble as they sent things back a couple of times. Now, that could just have been them...they seemed high maintenance. My Cesar salad was a little over dressed. The restaurant was cold, which was bad as it was an exceptionally damp and chilly day out.

First time diners at Lucky Rooster in Hilton Head Island. Food was good, menu was somewhat limited. Local Lowcountry ingredients which was great. Had two glasses of wine that had to go back due to lipstick. Manager handled it excellently. Bar looked nice, well stocked. All in all, very good.

The chicken livers are SO amazing and unique. Lightly breaded on a thick brioche bread slice, lovely light drizzle of something exquisite and slivers of green apple. Amazing flavor and so reasonably priced. Fish sandwich was hard to eat. Thick slice of Mahi slides right out of the sub shaped roll. Cassie is an amazing waitress. Everyone very attentive.

I would recommend but there are many Hilton Head restaurants to try. The food here was very good but not extraordinary. Although bountiful, the mussels didn't measure up to other places. The wait staff: efficient and friendly. I personally don't like the use of "we" in every sentence, such as "What are we going to have tonight?" "Would we like to look at the desert menu?" "Do we need anything else right now?" The entire staff appeared to be trained to use those phrases from the hostess to all on wait staff.

We knew we were in for a treat from the warm welcome and detail provided by the hosts. The dining room is comfortable elegance and the menu varied. Each person guided you through the choices and each provided personal recommendations. We decided on the pork chop and scallops accompanied by a delicious salad. We couldn’t help but peek at each dish as it left the kitchen to see what we might order on our next visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the pecan bourbon pie. Looking forward to our next visit to HHI, our reservations are already made.

Food and service was wonderful. We sat on the patio and it was quite pleasant until a party of 15-20 inebriated men were seated half-way thru our meal. At one point, they knocked an older woman - not in their group - almost to the ground. Management should have stepped in but never did... pretty much ruined the evening for the other tables on the patio.

Great experience. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Duck fries were perfect. The bone marrow appetizer was delicious. The after dinner drinks are AMAZING!! Taste like liquid dessert in a glass.

We were in town for a golf tournament this weekend and this establishment was mentioned so I took my family on Sunday our last night here it started out good with the calamari and tuna tartare appetizers then it went down hill from there it took forty minutes plus for our entrees when we watched several tables that arrived after us receive their entrees before us and we had a reservation there was a couple that walked in after us and they waited to be seated and they received their food several minutes before us it just put a bad taste in our mouths for our experience being a former chef myself I always try to give a place a fair chance but the time lapse with no explanation was unacceptable definitely won’t be on my list for next year

The service was very slow and not knowledgeable at all. The oysters were minuscule and should have never been served. The order on our hamburgers were incorrect and took some time to resolve. The drinks we ordered to accompany our meal arrived AFTER our meal. It was an embarrassing meal.

The food was good but nothing spectacular for the price. The mussels were excellent but the pork chop was small and unmemorable. One person in our party got the burger and said it was excellent. AJ was our server and she was very attentive and well-informed. There was another waitress nearby who spoke very loudly and we had to wait until she was finished talking to her table to continue our conversation. The ambience was cozy, yet a little dark. With all the options on Hilton Head, I'm not sure I'll return.

We had dined here before and knew exactly what we wanted for our meals. I ordered mussels and the beet salad and my husband was so happy to have chicken livers and the beet salad. It was a very generous serving of mussels, so I we will enjoy the leftovers. The full menu looks great, but we were aiming for an appetizer-salad combo that evening. Our server was cheerful and attentive. We sat on the covered outside patio where we felt protected from a predicted shower. We would recommend Luck Rooster.

It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside. Our server was young so had to ask a lot of questions (mainly alcohol related questions) so things took time to order because there was back and forth. Our mussels and salads were wonderful. I had the short ribs and it wasn’t as good as other places I’ve been to. It seemed the consensus of everyone on their food, was it was okay, but no one was WOWed. Glad we tried it, but probably won’t be back

A delightful experience. Food, decor and service were all superior quality. The atmosphere was relaxed but not exceedingly casual . We were seated out on the patio with live music the inside was quieter and seemed to be a more intimate scene. I can enthusiastically recommend it.

Starting with a positive, service was great—hostess, waitress and bar. Salmon was good but sides were not— cold, like they had been sitting awhile—rice was dry and almost inedible. My fiend had the burger and fries, and said they were great so maybe just inconsistent. haven’t been in over a year.

Ordered an all appetizers for dinner variety of dishes. All were delicious! Service was spot on, engaging, attentive, but not invasive. Some inventive takes on standards like seafood stuffed deviled eggs and bbq spiced mussels that were tasty twists on classics. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Went for dinner...Thought it satisfactory but not exceptional..Three of us had wedge salad and salmon. Salad was good and can easily be split for two. Salmon wasn't out of this world, but good. Clam chowder was very good. The BLT flatbread was disappointing. It was like a little round personal pizza. The community park across the street made for a nice walk after dinner.

I went to dinner there last night with my husband as soon as we walked and we were greeted with a very friendly, hostess and seated right away, the waiter was also very friendly. He went over the menu with us. We started with appetizers we had the crabcake appetizer. It was delicious, 95% all crab no filler it was delicious and then we both had for dinner the fried chicken and it was perfection for my sides. I had the mashed potatoes. They were so decadent and delicious and I also had the duck fat french fries. They were very good. We did not have room for dessert because we were so stuffed. The portions are very big and the food is very rich and I will definitely go back.

First time and what a find …just a relaxing spot inside is very nice but we opted for the porch which was great . George are server was terrific, made great suggestions steered me away from one dish as said was way to much food for me , ya have to appreciate that. Food was excellent was just what we were looking for . It was a bit quite so food came out bit fast for us but better than waiting. Bartender came over to make sure our drinks were ok . Hostess could not of been nicer . Hope to get back soon it’s on our list thanks

Meh…I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is very nice & we enjoyed the entertainment & outside venue very much. That’s where the positives end. The manager who was around was just too over- the - top with her effusive comments. Insincerity is always a turnoff. A long time to wait for a wine & a beer that we ordered. The wine was an incredibly short pour (maybe 4-5 ounces) for $12. I ordered what was apparently “the best thing on the menu” per our server - the pork chop, served with grits and greens. The meat was tasty, though overcooked. The chop was a thin cut (1/2 - 3/4”) and definitely not a meal to inspire a return visit. I cannot recommend.
