Lucky Ace Ratings and Reviews
I had lunch here on a Saturday with some friends. I had the lunch special (Rama with mock duck) and my friends had soups and curries. Everyone enjoyed their food and left feeling stuffed. The prices were great, especially for the portions.
The ambiance is not romantic. it's more...functional. Clean space and not too loud, although it was pretty busy by 1' oclock. Service was fine and food came out quickly. I would recommend it if you're in the area, but I wouldn't necessarily get on a subway to eat there again.
Also a plus: many great vegetarian options.
If you want to try authentic Lebanese flavors, you can't miss here. Hookah and late night drinks after a show? PERFECT CHOICE. I'd like to come back and try the 10 meze sampler with my beau. Super - friendly host, packed with locals, and good value. Dim and candlelit. Great for hand-holding, feeding a friend, or even intrigue. It's a cool place. We will be back. : )
Good Thai food in a very accessible location on Ninth Avenue just off 42nd Street. They have some fun and quite tasty specialty drinks (I had the Blue Hawaii). A new item on the menu, peanut dumplings . . . well wow, they were delicious. I go for the traditional, so I had Pad Thai with tofu and it was everything I hoped it would be. My friend had the Pad Thai with chicken and loved it. Our waiter was a sweetheart . . . very attentive and also darn cute. I will definitely go back and anyone who enjoys Thai food will not be disappointed.
The food, whilst tasty, was SO spicy it burned your mouth, two other tables complained of the same thing too. The service was rushed, no smiles or politeness. We only ate in 3 restaurants for evening meals in NYC, but by UK standards I would not recommend this place.
My favorite meal is Prihk Khing with tofu, and AceLuck's is right on the money. Our meal (2 Prihk Khing's) was under $25, and we had enough for me to have lunch the next day. This is not "fine dining" by any stretch, but it is delicious, fresh, and easy on the wallet.
Dining in this area, behind Theater Row, is getting better and a wider variety of choices. Not horrible Thai food, but bland and greasy. Beautifully presented, but the taste did not match. Quick service food to table, but lacking attentiveness (I wanted to add spice, but no staff to ask & ran out of time). Did not try dessert.
We were visiting New York and wanted to try something away from the crowds of Times Square. We found this on Open Table and liked the reviews and the fact that they accepted reservations.
When we arrived (7PM on a Sunday) our party of 4 was seated immediately. Drinks were 1/2 price for happy hour, a pleasant surprise. We greatly enjoyed everything we had including mussels and duck rolls as appetizers and a variety of pork, shrimp and duck entrees. Everything was great, and service was prompt and friendly. We would absolutely go there again.
Went to Aceluck post-show and was very pleased with the food and service. I made a reservation during intermission near their closing time, and someone from Aceluck called to ask us to come earlier, which was a smooth process. Soup and Massaman curry were great - very large portion sizes. I would return.
Was staying at Four Points by Sheraton Midtown - Times Square and AceLuck was literally right around the corner! Was a great find on Open Table and would totally go back next time I'm in the city. Pad Thai was very tasty and so was the peanut sauce for the chicken satay.
