Always reliable food and service. This is my go to place for lunch or dinner, never fails me. Drinks are perfect, food is always delicious and the service is perfect. We took a friend for his birthday and he loved his first introduction.
The restaurant accommodated a large group with separate checks which was very much appreciated. The food was excellent and well presented. They were able to accommodate a vegetarian and pescatarian in our group.
We were sitting at the booth with the extra chair, at the front window...there were small black ants on the table. Fried Green Tomatoes were barely cooked and not very good. The mashed potatoes were not creamy and savory like at Village Tavern or the Chop House on HW 68. The mashed sweet potatoes were uber stringy....yuck! And it is way too loud there!!!
I love this restaurant! We go for special occasions and just because...
Food is excellent with seasonal menu as well as traditional favorites. American foods, southern flair, farm to fork
Reasonable prices, nice beer list nice wine list
Always go back!
I had a good experience at Lucky 32s. The black bean cakes are delicious and the mustard braised cabbage was very good. I was disappointed in the creamy grits simply because they had very little taste. Their texture was good but they didn't seem to be seasoned at all. The corn bread they bring to the table before your meal is very good. The biscuits are really oily on the bottom. Our server was cordial and prompt.
I really enjoyed the appetizer voodoo bread and the shrimp and grits were good as well (I would have liked more grits but the abundance of shrimp and sausage was awesome).
My server Brittany was FANTASTIC. We will be back :)
We came to Lucky 32 to celebrate our son's 23rd birthday. It was the perfect place for this occasion. The food selection was great and the service was by far some of the best ever! Looking forward to coming back soon!
Always enjoy Lucky 32! Our only complaint was that the coffee was cold twice.
We both ordered the Shrimp and Grits which were delicious. Service was outstanding. We booked the reservation last minute through OpenTable and it was at Lucky 32 when we arrived. We were seated promptly. The only disappointment were the veggies. The Beans & Kale and the Green Beans were what we ordered and they were not up to Lucky 32 standards. Both seemed over cooked. I love Lucky 32 and hope the veggies will be much improved on my next visit.
She-crab soup wonderful as always. A special "thank-you" to our server and to Lucky32 for the wonderful complimentary chocolate dessert with home-made ice cream and whipped cream with a candle brought to the table for our 85th birthday celebrant.
We visit a lot our favorite special occasion restaurant. My blue cheese burger turned out as another type of cheese that slid off the to greasy burger. The burger had no flavor. And, the she crab soup has below expectation. We've been coming to Lucky 32's since moving here three years ago and will continue....this visit just was not up to normal excellence .
Great Southern-inspired dishes. Friendly, prompt service. I used to go to Lucky 32 in the 80s and 90s and somehow just stopped for a few years. Recently I came back and realized what I've been missing. It's now becoming a new go-to place.
I want to like Lucky’s more than I do. It’s a Greensboro Institution, & very popular.
We’ve been countless times over the 30yrs. Today we went to take advantage of a $10 coupon they send us about 3 times a year. And the Skillet Fried Chicken they feature on Sunday’s starting @ 3 til they run out. Upon arrival they greet the table w/ a small slab of cornbread pudding - ish. It had a layer of corn pudding and much thinner, but more flavorful than the Dipping Cornbread in the dish. The dish comes w/ a breast, wing & a leg, pan fried in locally rendered lard, mashed potatoes & giblet gravey, collard greens & a hunk of dipping corn bread. The breast was a good size & very juicy, almost a little to wet, the skin wasnt very crispyor very thick,& on the verge of soggy. It had an OK taste. The wing & leg were favourful. All pieces lacked a good crunchy crust. Just very average IMHO. The collards were very flavorful, but had very large pieces of inedible fat back. And the cornbread was huge, but very dry, not sweet or salty, very bland actually & wasnt sure what to dip it in. Hence the description Dipping Cornbread, it didn’t come w/ butter, or honey. & there wasnt an over abundance of gravy or collard jus. I felt like I had to salt everything.
I think that’s why we don’t return often is that our food experience is always under whelming & very average.
Celebrating birthdays! Everything was awesome as always!!
There were three in our party. We all ate different things..I love the twice baked grits—they were wonderful as always. My wife had brisket and raves about how tinder it was. Our friend had the fried green tomato Benedict and was not happy. She chose not to send it back but she was not a happy camper.
Always a quality experience! No surprises and excellent food.
Everything was very good. Not inexpensive, but not overpriced, either.
We normally get the pecan crusted cat fish and other specials and have enjoyed them, but Friday, we order some seasonal specials and were disappointed
Restaurant is a comfortable place for a good lunch or dinner at a reasonable price. Service was very good.
Always a terrific choice to dine. Great food, quick service, a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.
One of our favorite restaurants in Greensboro. Serving the best of local fresh food. The wait staff always friendly and attentive.
Given the number of positive reviews, I was very disappointed.
The cheese soup needed so much salt and pepper, I actually felt guilty. The chicken was so tough, it was unpalatable and to their credit, the manager offered to bring me another item - kudos! The grit cake was good, as was the gravy.
The sever was inattentive, spending much of her time clearing and separating an 8-top next to me... turn around and just give a quick shoutout to ya girl!
Ambiance makes for a good place to take your parents, not your date.
I expected more from Lucky 32. My entree was average. Jambalaya should be spicy, it was mild. The shrimp and chicken had no spice infused in them. It seems that the restaurant put plain shrimp and chicken on top of the rice. The andouille sausage was good. The noise level was high. The restaurant may want to consider noise absorbing surfaces. The service was good. When the credit card receipts arrived the waitress had overcharged me and undercharged my two friends. Since one credit card was in a man's name and the other in a woman's name it should not have been an issue. I just paid the bill as presented since the waitress was not around.
The menu has great seasonal options as well as long time favorites. Very tasty!
My husband and I dined at Lucky 32 for the fist time this month. The food was excellent and so was the service. We plan to return and try other dishes on the menu.
Love Lucky 32! Always great food and service! We had a girls weekend get together, and chose Lucky 32 as one of our dinners. Everyone loved the options and the signature lanterns inside the restaurant!
The dinner was good, atmosphere was pleasant. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, but it didn't knock our socks off either.
Food is absolutely great
Staff are stand offish
There is not much I can write for a place that does have anything spectacular tjatvtd staff did for us.
Was a great nite out!
Just wish the music was a little lower hard to talk or hear over it with my husbands hearing issues.
Very nice visit-service was excellent and cordial
If nothing else service seemed a bit rushed!
Excellent food and service!
I was on a date with my wife. We went to see the musicians. The performance was as good as a concert.
Always enjoy dining here and can count on consistent quality, service and variety of food. A real comfort...
The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing!
We have eaten at both the original Lucky 32 in Greensboro and the Lucky 32 in Cary several times and have always been well pleased. Their brunch and lunch menus are always excellent and the same goes for the wait staff which has always been top notch.
We love this place. We go here for special occasions as well as for great good!
I reserved a table and at the time Lucky 32 asked if it was for a special occasion. I said Birthday but when I arrived no reference to my birthday was made. And no time during the meal was I asked by any one if we were celebrating.
The food was good, salmon was excellent. Coffee was delicious.
On thing that bothers me is the sanitation taking. I think an upscale restaurant should be higher than 95.5.
Walking in there was almost zero business and we still waited for our server to finish his personal conversation before he decided to serve us. The host wasted a whole container of folks on the ground and put them right back in the container and back in the storage cabinet in the front area. Very unsanitary! I saw another server bus a table and then serve food directly afterwards without washing her hands. At this point I purposely tried not to see stuff. I'm a chef and these things stick out like a sore thumb in my profession. Also your rated as a 4 star restaurant but ppl had on shorts and flip flops. It gave me the impression of a overpriced Applebees or T.G.I.F s restaurant. The steaks we ordered were good though. Sweet potatoes could have used some cinnamon. 8.5 outta 10 for the chef.
I ordered a chicken dish and everything was so good but the chicken. It was super dry and chewy. Chili’s has a better grilled chicken breast for half the price. We loved everything but the chicken. We were celebrating our 5 yr anniversary and it was our first time there.
Lucky 32 never lets me down. I love that they have seasonal favorites along with their traditional offerings. The wait staff is superb: they never rush you and yet are perfectly attentive. Lucky 32 is just the right mix of gracious, casual, elegant, and down-home.
