Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen - Greensboro
Happy Birthday to us! We’re 30!
To celebrate this wonderful restaurant we will be offline (read: not open) through July 17 to get some extra spa “treatments” from the QW Craft Guild and Design Team. A lot of this work will be behind the scenes yet you can expect to find a refreshed and vibrant 30-something bombshell when you see us after the 17th!
It was...fine. Nothing more than that. The menu was lovely, as was the bistro decor, so perhaps our expectations were too high. We were seated to a crayon-scrawled table (I believe they were closing for remodeling the next day, so the residue was likely something that needed more attention to be removed). Drinks were ordered: sodas and an underwhelming sweet tea. They were very nice and brought a sample of the yellow tomato soup for one of our party to try before ordering. This plus was negated by them forgetting to bring promised bread, which was delivered after we asked when we got our meals. To their credit, the bread was fabulous.
I got the shrimp and grits, which was tasty, but served in a literal soup of sauce. Another in our party got the pulled pork over johnnycakes with "voodoo" sauce. The meat was fine, the sauce had a nice kick, but the cakes stole the show. They could be their own appetizer. We also got a pimento cheese chicken sandwich and the grilled salmon, which was cooked nicely but wasn't particularly noteworthy otherwise.
We passed on dessert.
We were just passing through Greensboro, and this place looked nice, but we'll try somewhere else next time.
Always an outstanding experience. we have reservations for the "Black Theater Festival" with friends and family.
Great choice of novel brunch dishes. Both the cocktails and foof was delish. Will definitely be back!
We arrived for our lunch Sunday and was greeted with the nicest person who got us seated right away. Our meal was enjoyed by both of us. Our waitress refilled our drinks as needed. We enjoy eating at Lucky 32 and visit quite frequently for our Sunday lunch!
Excellent food and service - I would definitely return!
I made reservation a month before my wife birthday at our special table
Put in another table and totally forgot my wife birthday
What a joke
We sat on the patio, which was delightful. Fans kept it from being too hot. The service was terrific. Easy to talk as the noise level was medium. The food was delicious, and the Chicken breast and green beans were so fresh. We met friends there for the meal and would definitely return there for a reasonably priced dinner and relaxed atmosphere.
Only one MINOR complaint. The carpet sweeper needs serious oiling. Every time the swept near ya we couldn’t focus on our conversation because of the squeakiness .
We ordered from the seasonal menu. The ingredients were fresh and prepared perfectly. Our server was attentive and catered to our needs without making us feel like we had to eat and run.
Our server was outstanding!!! She really knew how to connect with diners, was very attentive but not interruptive of the conversation between two people who had not seen each other in some time so had a lot of catching up to do.
It seems like Denise and I are meeting more people that aren’t from this area. It’s nice to take new friends out for a meal and there’s simply no place like Lucky 32 to show Southern Hospitality. If you want a comfortable atmosphere, gracious service and excellent food at a reasonable price you can’t find a better restaurant. This weekend after our guests finished eating one of them looked at me and with a smile said”this was the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. “. That says it all.
Wow! We are thrilled that you are bringing your new friends to dine with us at Lucky 32! -Rose
Very lovely place but the service wasn’t that great and meal I ordered was cooked so to send it back it’s something that I normally do but I did and wasn’t satisfied with outcome.
Great food, great service. Love the summer menu! Will definitely return.
We are so glad to here to enjoyed the Summer menu! It is most certainly one of our favorites!
Overall, the experience was good. The food was OK, as my steak came out medium rare instead of rare. I feel like there could be more choices of appetizers. The service was exceptional, and the wine selection was great.
Late celebration for Fathers Day
Food and service as expected. However, there is a nearly overwhelming level of noise in the place and that makes it difficult to carry on conversation! You really should attempt to address that.
My family especially loved the music and the sound system. It was more like a concert. Wonderful food and service.
We are thrilled you loved the music!
Excellent food! Prepared well, Presented well. Service was Excellent as well. This was my first time here, and I will definitely return!
We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your first visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Good appetizers, great food overall. Always excellent service as soon as you walk in the door. My fav restaurant in Greensboro.
Main entree was great the fried green tomatoes were not worth $8 5 slices slightly cooked sliced tomatoes. For $8 I can fried half a bushel green tomatoes in butter and flour. 5 slices isn’t even a full tomato. Totally not worth paying for.
I’m sorry but I was disappointed compared to previous visits. Silverware was dirty, only offered one drink at the beginning and waitstaff forgot food - had to ask. Taste was bland not like it used to be. I really was hoping Father’s Day would have been WOW.
Honestly, I wasn’t impressed, nor was my family. Left a 30% tip, waiter nice but extremely slow service. Food was mediocre and bland, disappointing.
As always great footand service. My favorite restaurant in the Greensboro area.
Timothy - We are honored Lucky's is your favorite restaurant in Greensboro. It truly makes our whole team so proud to hear. Thank you!
We showed up on time our table was not ready so we were told wait. However 4 other groups came in after us and were seated immediately. I will find another restaurant for Father's Day. This one sucks.
Considering it was Father's Day and the place was mobbed, the noise level was very reasonable. Service was good and pretty timely, again, considering how busy they were. Food was very good. A pleasant experience, as always, and altogether a very good value for the food quality and ambience.
Thank you for your feedback! We are so glad you had a pleasant experience and enjoyed the food and ambiance. We look forward to your next visit.
It was great. The food was superb and the service was also.
Oh, wonderful!! We love hearing the food was superb and you enjoyed your experience at Lucky's!! We look forward to your next visit.
Great meal, great service, very enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Southern meal.
We love coming to Lucky 32! We got to sit on the veranda for dinner this time and it was perfect. Our server was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious.
Very disappointing. We have eaten at L32 numerous times but this will likely be the last. To start with, it took an extraordinarily long time to get sparking water from the bar, much less the 2 cocktails that were ordered. Probably 20 minutes to get drinks. Bread was delivered but not a sole checked on until bread was finished and waitress Deangelis by to ask if we were ready to order. Apps were ordered, no bread was offered. Apps delivered (fried okra, fried green tomatoes, tomato salad) but no share plates were brought. Finally flagged down a random waiter to get us some. Apps were consumed and the wait began. At least 20 -25 minutes passed, no one checked on the table until finally our waitress stopped by to clear and tell us our food was 2 minutes behind her. Another 10 minutes and food arrives. First off, my steak with fries and collards was presented as steak, green beans and something else not ordered so that was removed. Other dishes were served. Bow tie pasta was meh, catfish was good, grilled chicken was good but most disappointing were the famous L32 collards. I found one piece of country ham in mine and the drastically needed salt and vinegar. Which I would have asked for(no steak sauce or condiments were offered) so the went uneaten. Ribeye was under seasoned and boring. All in all I wished we had gone to La Fiesta instead of dropping over $150 at L32 for dull food and poor service
Restaurant environment was nice enough. Waitress was nice, attended promptly to our drink and food order but lacked friendliness. A fly landed in my water, she got me another glass but no apology. I didn’t drink it because I felt there was a chance the fly was removed from the water and that’s all. Sad but that’s how I felt because of the lack of an apology in the first place. The kale and beans was horrible, maybe it should be replaced with something better tasting and appealing to the eyes. I wish I had more positive things to say but I feel you deserve honesty. Thanks
We recently celebrated a graduation with lunch at Lucky 32. From start to finish, the service, meal selection, wait time, and dishes were fantastic! Definitely recommend Lucky 32 for date night, small groups, and celebrating special moments. Everyone left happy!
We have been coming to all the restaurants in this group since the early 90's, as they were built of course. Lucky 32 has always been a favorite. This night the food was average at best. Temps on steak incorrect by a long shot, Okra came out raw, braised chard came out stewed! The cooking has been the problem on our last 4 visits. In addition, I imagine since the bar is far drinks take too long to get to table. My father-in-law wanted another and by the time it arrived so did dinner.. He no longer wanted it. Also, why would they serve a Southern Mule in a juice glass and not a copper cup. This is a finer restaurant and one would expect that. The drinks are over-priced as compared to other similar restaurants. The menu certainly needs an overhaul as well. Same old same old.. Some new seasonal dishes and that is all... Really disappointed in our last few visits. We like the patio, so we will most likely go there for a glass of wine and apps, and that is all.
Oh no! We dropped the ball on your last visit. We love feedback and take the time to share it with our whole team so that we can improve. We are honored you would choose to dine with us since we opened. If you have the time and feel so inclined I would sincerely love to hear more about your experience and earn back the credibility we spent.
I found Lucky32 to be pretty hit or miss. Some of the food was good and some was actually pretty terrible. The two of us ordered appetizers and a main course. Some of the hits were the fried okra (they called it okra popcorn and it was a bit under seasoned), the green beans as a side, and the fried catfish. Some of the misses were the tomato bisque (very under seasoned, dry chicken in the bisque, too acidic), the pintos and chow chow (the pintos has zero salt. It was not good at all.), and the fried grit cakes. I really wonder what the story was as so much of it could have been improved with just a bit more seasoning. It may be to others’ liking but it certainly wasn’t to ours. The service and ambiance was quite good all around. I likely would not dine here again nor could I really recommend it to others.
Why is the service always sub par bc the food isn’t!
The service was a little slow, but they were very very busy so I still rated 5 stars.
Another great experience for my wife and I at Lucky 32. Food quality and service was excellent. My overall favorite restaurant in Greensboro.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We went for Sunday Brunch. The menu options were extensive and unique to a typical Sunday Brunch menu. We ordered the wild caught shrimp and okra, peach French toast (which was made with think slices of a baguette-type bread), bacon, home fries, biscuits and Suffolk Chicken. All were very delicious. Our coffee cups and water glasses were continually topped off. It was rainy, but the outside patio looked really nice and we would love to go back another day to sit outside. Definitely recommend!
The company, food, drinks and environment were wonderful. I felt the waitress was a bit rude and seemed impatient.
staff was awesome and the food was great. I am sure I will go back when I am in the area again.
Lucky 32 is my favorite Triad restaurant! Enjoy the quality and variety of the food!
