Chicken Fried Steak
World Class! In Texas, the reigning queen of down-home cooking is Chicken Fried Steak. Lucile's Chicken Fried Steak is a thing of beauty. It is a thick, juicy sirloin beef steak that we batter and deep fry crispy golden brown on the outside. Moist and tender on the inside. It comes smothered with our famous country gravy. Served with choice of homemade fries or sweet potato fries.
Seated right away. Extremely nice waitress so we forgave her for her inattention during our meal which was probably not her fault. Very cool atmosphere except bathrooms need updating. We went for Sunday Brunch. My companions had 2 different types of Eggs Benedict which they said were good, not outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits and it was definitely the worst example I have ever had. Imagine just plain, too thick, too cheddar cheesy grits with MELTED CHEDDAR CHEESE on top with a few bacon bits, green onions and a bit of not good “creole sauce” splattered on the top plus five not fresh tasting overcooked extra small shrimp arranged in the middle. We shared a couple of biscuits which were good. Neat place so glad we experienced it, but will not return due to the below average food experience.
Do people go to this place for the food? I assure you not. Do people go to this place for the service? Not that I can imagine. Really , it was a bad experience
Our server was terrific. Great meal.
All the entries were absolutely delicious! Great service!
The night’s special, lobster/seafood gumbo, was excellent!
Disappointed in menu. Website still has a list of desserts but only cake and peach cobbler offered due to covid. What does covid have to do with dessert? Everything anyone wants to change is due to covid! When made reservations I was told no more than a table for eight due to large crowds on weekends. We were seated by a table for 16. Not a problem for covid I assume. Overall not a great special birthday event. Wish I had picked a different restaurant.
Been going to Lucile’s for over 10 years. It was good as usual. Never had a bad meal here. Fiancé had the Alfredo with lobster and I had the roasted chicken. Always good.
We love Lucille's. My favorite breakfast to order is Eggs Benedict with a Bloody Mary.
Enjoyed our NYE meal! Everything was great!
We made a NYE reservation… to our surprise it actually wasn’t any busier than any other time we have visited which leaves me very confused how they failed so miserably … but the service would’ve made you assume otherwise…. We waited nearly 35 after ordering our drinks to receive them… at which point they weren’t even made correctly… any modern bartender should know an old fashioned’s ingredients… well not at Lucile’s apparently a cup of ice with a bunch of dessert cherries and some knock off bourbon when I requested top shelf will suffice… my single drink cost more than my actual meal so at this point I paid $20 for maraschino cherries and ice… both steaks were dropped on the table and ditched before we were able to cut into them…. The medium filet was rare at best… and the rib-eye was totally well…. I mean how do you claim yourself a steak house without knowing how to properly serve a steak…. We were never given the opportunity to let our waiter know because it never came back to check on us… never asked if we would like another beverage… I mean it’s NYE idc if the drinks are $40 I want one… thats why I got dressed up and came out…. All around AWFUL experience. The staff was terrible… food terrible… bartender terrible… oh and we were charged for items we never even received… don’t get me started on that and the hassle of having to get a corrected ticket from the waiter who appears ever 55 mins at best….. we bragged on Lucile’s last year… we won’t be back again this year… they definitely lost 4 avid and generous guest… can’t wait to share this to all my social media… thankfully our night improved no thanks to Lucile’s or their staff…. We had a $6 cheeseburger afterwards that blew the socks off the old meat and stanky seafood we were told was our “meal”
<Luciles has outstanding entrees, well prepared and promptly served. The drinks are also outstanding.
Our server and the food were outstanding! The blackened redfish is great!
The overall experience was ok The atmosphere was very good, the good was good but the service was just ok. The value was a little over priced and the they made two mistakes, one on the drink order and still was not correct and the other on a side
Great food. Wonderful lobster bisque.
Would have been 5 stars if the menu matched the online menu, especially since we realized the menu we were given wasn’t really all that new. The website should have been updated by now. It seems the choices are either a pretty expensive dinner choice or a burger/salad choice. We were expecting a bit more of a variety. What we chose was very tasty, though.
Simple but excellent food at a good value. Service was good
We had a great experience. We really enjoyed the Angry Man Lobster and the Blacked Tenderloin with Lobster. We also tried the lobster bisque, but thought it need a touch of sherry. The dirty martini was the BEST!
The food and service were great. One of my favorites in Fort Worth.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch with superb service.
Will definitely return when we are in Ft Worth again.
Super loud and cramped
Salads were mixed up when delivered. Didn't keep up with the soft drinks needing refills. Was very friendly. Food was very good.
Loved my experience there. A hidden treasure in Fort Worth.
Always the go to place for a nice meal with family or friends.
Jonathan made every effort to keep our tea filled, our plates timely, just all around personable the shrimp cocktail was spicy & cold, the fried green tomatoes warm & crunchy, we even ordered dessert after Jonathan delivered it to another table.
A great meal and cocktails as always! The staff is always friendly!
Loved the lobster and seafood gumbo! Great neighborhood restaurant.
It was a wonderful evening. Our Server was attentive and friendly
Best chicken fried steak ever!
wonderful experience! highly recommend! Food and drinks were perfect.
Excellent food, superb service. Super Martinis.
Great customer service, even though a bit crowded, meal came timely, warm and delicious!!
Made a reservation at Lucile’s because it can get very busy and our group was on somewhat of a schedule. We were seated as we came in with no problems. Lucile’s is a place to sit and enjoy a meal while having plenty of conversation with your group. Was a slight bit slow but all in all a great experience and will do it again.
They have taken off béarnaise sauce, my favorite thing the whole menu changed very unhappy
We typically wait until the last minute to make our reservations - no change this year. Judging by the write-ups and photos and menu, we chose Lucile's. Our waitress was superb and never stopped for even a minute. We have already decided that we will be coming back next year!!!
Excellent place for Thanksgiving lunch Great service Good Food
Simplified menu for Thanksgiving Traditional Turkey & Dressing or Cedar plank Salmon Prime Rib or Lobster
Very good. We always enjoy coming here when we are in the area!
Fresh and delicious. Best lobster I’ve had in texas
Must stop for brunch or dinner after or before any TCU sporting event!
The cedar plank salmon was superb, and lobster bites did not disappoint. Two of our group got the angry lobster and loved it.
