Lucia's also offers an extensive cocktail menu and a complete, well balanced wine list.
Had. Dry enjoyable to celebrate college graduation. So glad there is good food in downtown Ayer.
Always excellent. One of our favorites. It’s much better than its Groton rivals!!!
Authentic Italian cuisine, great atmosphere, though food has room for improvement. Brought my wife and 2 kids for Mother's Day. Service very pleasant, but slow, although maybe it's a little slow on purpose, which wasn't bothersome. Our table was wobbly, so I had to stabilize it, but no big deal. Cold bread was served with oil and herbs - would be a nice touch served warm and also with cheese. Fire alarm happened to go off just as our calamari appetizer was served, so we didn't eat for several minutes because we were holding our ears. Crispy batter though not a lot of flavor, and I've had fresher squid. Big portion, but should come with more sauce. Main course portions were smaller than expected but enough over all. Could've had more vegetables though... only 7 or 8 green beans per plate, though nicely cooked and seasoned. My "Award Winning" Pollo Muratore was indeed delicious, lots of flavor, perfectly cooked, and the polenta had a sumptuous texture. Wife had veal, also delicious. Kids had rigatoni w/meatball and ravioli w/sausage. Pasta very good, ravioli filling excellent. Meatball excellent, flavor more about the meat than what's added to it. Sausage underwhelming. Sauce: kids liked, but I was disappointed - too sweet! (sweet tomato sauce is a pet peeve of mine) and too much... what... oregano perhaps. In my humble opinion if you're going to charge these prices for Italian cuisine, you better NAIL the tomato sauce! Dessert saved it. Tiramisu, Crème Brûlée, Cannoli... all perfect. Appreciated the live music, and the noise level was just right where we were seated. Bottom line: I've had better food and more of it for what we paid, but I think it's more about the atmosphere than the food itself. Considering my whole family's reaction, we had a better than average experience, fire alarm notwithstanding, and we will likely return.
The alarm went off resulting in confusion whether or not to leave the restaurant. Rather noisy however the waitresses went over to the tables explaining what happened. Fire, police and ambulance arrived. That made it a little disappointing yet a Mother’s day to be remembered and talked about in the future. Food was excellent.
Special for Mothers Day. Our waiter was attentive and fun but I thought the fiddlehead fern omelet was dry. I loved the stuffed dates and my Limoncello martini. Will certainly go back for dinner.
Excellent food, service as usual. Always fantastic!!
Nice brunch specials for Mother's Day
So, the food here overall was very good. I'd skip the arancini, but other than that, the three entrees we had were solid, with high marks for the chicken piccata and veal. The desserts were worth a trip on their own. While the creme brulée was good, the Bailey's chocolate cake was very good, and the Limoncello poundcake was phenomenal. The service was pleasant and eager, if somewhat inexperienced. The ambiance was what made this review lackluster. Credit where credit is due: I give props to whomever thought to put coat hooks under the bar (Thank you from every woman who is loathe to hang her bag on the back of her chair!) That said, on our one visit, the place smelled strange. My two companions didn't notice, and I have a keen sense of scent, but it smelled distinctly "off". Which is weird since the food was very good. Also, there is not enough light in the women's bathroom. It's a lovely, large, single-person room, but then light in there made it feel like a slasher film.
Our table was ready on time, server was great, food delicious and wine selection was also great. We had a lovely meal to celebrate a graduation! The noise level was also fine- unlike many restaurants these days. All in all a great dining experience! Thank you!
As always, Lucia's did not disappoint. Excellent food and service. Great gem in our small town. If u havent tried it yet, do!
It was a very busy night, and just a bit of a wait. But, the food was hot and very tasty! Delicious.
Excellent food, brilliantly prepared. As always! Gracious servers, well informed about the dishes and how they are prepared. Soothing and talented piano and harmonica duo playing (Sunday evening) in the background. Excellent experience in every way.
The food was good. server Shane (I believe) was great! Unfortunately, they were out of gluten-free pasta which is the reason I went there.
We have been to Lucia's several times, the last two visits were disappointing, both times the chicken in two different dishes was tough, the Cesar salads as usual were excellent ,the staff are excellent ,very knowledgeable and willing to make suggestions. Not sure what's going on in the kitchen but something needs attention,we are going to take a break from them ,hoping the kitchen improves back to what it used to be.
Food was excellent - good sized portions and made perfectly. Service was very good. Nice atmosphere with a good vibe. Definitely recommend giving Lucia's a try, you won't be disappointed.
Always fantastic. Every single time.
Excellent experience . Service was excellent and very attentive without being intrusive. We were seated at a lovely table by the window. Food was delicious. We will definitely return.
Awesome as usual
We have been to Lucia's many times and each time we enjoy our experience. Matt is a great server and always makes sure we are well taken care of. The food is always prepared very well and so tasty and the Butternut Squash Ravioli appetizer is a must-have. For a special occasion or quick bite to eat, whether you are eating at the bar or table you not be disappointed in Lucia's.
I had the surf and turf and it was delicious- the sauce that went with the lobster ravioli, and the ravioli itself were delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection- medium rare.
Haven't been to Lucia's in almost a year, but this experience disappointing compared to previous visits. We ordered cocktails and they were watered down, inconsistent, and served in inappropriate glasses. Our entrees were OK, but covered in too much sauce hiding all the components. Salad was served with a lack of dressing and tasteless. After this experience we probably will not be back.
We were celebrating my birthday! The waiter was great. He even sang happy birthday to me in Italian. The food was good but it was cold in the restaurant.
The food was a small step up from the normal Italian fare, but the prices were much higher. They seemed to have trouble working out the seating, even though the place was empty when we arrived. The service was good once we were seated.
Loved the food and the service was amazing! Everything was perfect!
Lucia's Tavola was excellent! The food was delicious and offered a variety to choose from.
Always fantastic. Literally always
I was so excited to dine there with my family - the service was honestly the worst I’ve experienced in a very long time - food was good but not worth the prices . Sadly I won’t be going back
Not as good as usual. Eggplant "Napolean" was a mess, side meatball arrived cold. Prices on the bill were different than prices on the menu.
Delicious appetizers and entrees! Service was impeccable. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll definitely be back!
The food is excellent! I will definitely go back.
This recent visit was one of many over the past few years, and I keep coming back because I believe the food is very good and plentiful. This time I had the tenderloin steak with the mushrooms and a deep rich sauce, a very tasty entree and nicely seasoned. The green beans could have been cooked a bit longer; most diners like the crunch, but these tasted as if they had been merely passed through hot water, and during the winter season, that does not work with a summer vegetable. Winter green beans do not cook as easily or quickly as summer ones. The bread and olive oil are always a treat, and the dessert, creme caramel, was done perfectly. Lucia's would do well to have some ice cream on hand. Serving whipped cream with the chocolate cake as well as with the creme caramel, is a bit "over-the-top" in sweetness. Ice cream works better. That's what my fellow diner believes. The salad "special" lacked much of a dressing, and I am not sure whether that was planned. Nevertheless, I shall return.
Birthday celebration. Very busy night. Wait staff was working very hard. Great food and wonderful waitress.
delicious and Fabulous
Great fresh pasta with a warm traditional feel in the restaurant. Worth a stop if you are in or passing through the area.
We enjoyed Lucia's very much. One suggestion.....serve WARM bread!!!
Pleasant Sunday night supper with friends in a cosy room with lovely live music. Food was very good and it was a nice, relaxing experience.
Most enjoyable evening at Lucia’s. Great combination of nice ambiance coupled with delicious food. All our entrees did not disappoint, I had the lobster & shrimp alfredo, the others had the seafood diablo, pasta with the vodka sauce and there award winning pollo muratore. All simply delicious!
We will be back for sure!
We were 5 persons and all enjoyed our meal. We have never been disappointed at Lucias. Although we had different entries, at my suggestion we all ordered Zabaglione for dessert. They make it great!
Second time we have been here. The first time service and food ware five stars, we had a great night!
This second time, our server seemed less experienced and our food came out cold and with sloppy presentation.
Both nights were a Sat during the later dinner rush. We were clearly disappointed but will try again in hopes they were short staffed or had other issues that night; thankful to have this restaurant in our neighborhood!
