This was our first time, but it came highly recommended by neighbors and friends. We will definitely be back. The food was superb and the service was excellent.
Overall we were pleased to go o Lucia’s for our Anniversary. There was good quality food and great service.
It's always fantastic there. I go with my wife and my family all the time. It's always great food, great experience. Love it. I hope it stays right where it is forever.
Just ok. Dark and loud and table too close together. Food was fair. Pricy for what you get.
The food and wine were very good. They list gluten free pasta on the menu, but were out the evening I went. 😕 The braised beef was a delicious alternative.
The food was delicious, and all seven of us enjoyed our meals. I had the Tuna Calabria, with olives and walnuts, and it was a unique and satisfying meal. The server made vegetable substitutions in place of pasta, and worked hard to accommodate all requests. The ambiance was delightful. I will return, as I have done for the last two years.
Calimari was oily and tasteless, the veal marsala was overcooked
Our recent visit to Lucia’s was very good. The food was delicious and the service was great. Over the past year we had been disappointed as the menu was limited and the standard dishes my family had enjoyed many times over were not executed to the deliciousness of which we were accustomed. On this most recent visit, we all agreed, Lucia’s is back!!!
We had a very enjoyable dinner for 4 at Lydia's Tavola. While Ayer is not at the center of the universe, it is well worth the drive to have a dinner at Lydia's. The service was crisp, the menu was varied and augmented by an appealing list of specials. My entree was the rack of lamb from the specials list and was very satisfying served with a tasty risotto. The drinks were ample, the parking was easy and the tiramisu was as good as any I have had in the past. The general manager made certain we were pleased with our experience and took the time to show us the billiard parlor in a connecting building which has a bar and limited food service.
After eating her previously where I gave this restaurant rave reviews and couldn't wait to take my friends here. It was the worst food, horrible presentation although the manager did exceptionally well trying to make us happy and sent us home with desert unfortunately I will not be returning. It is nothing like it was. I should have been clued in when my martini came and it tasted like water with a drop of Grey Goose in it. Even when they brought me another one although it was a tad better, the liquor still tasted watered down. Our meals looked like they were thrown together, the Caprese Salad was awful, thrown on a plate with a bunch of lettuce and minimal glaze and the tomatoes were hot house tomatoes not fresh. The menu online is outdated, be ready for a surprise when you see what's on the menu.
Well. Made a reservation. Got to Lucia’s and our table wasn’t available. Needless to say. Had to eat a bar. They finally had a table. But already settled in we had a toddler with us. So moving would have been a fiasco they did offer and we accepted a free cocktail after. Which was a nice gesture. But our whole reason going to dinner with friends to catch-up could not ,
A town this size should be proud to host a restaurant like Lucia's. With a little work on the service and the plating, it could definitely compete with swankier places. I was especially impressed with their desserts.
We usually love the Seafood Alfredo and Eggplant parmesan but noticed the Alfredo was not as creamy as it usually is, still good, but it did taste a little different. The portions have decreased in size as well. I can remember from the past the platter of eggplant you would get was impressive and we were surprised how much the portion sizes went down but the prices are still the same. Still delicious and still one of our favorite places though
Love this local treasure! Food was excellent and the atmosphere was quaint and very nice!
Love it! Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was amazing
Very nice and welcoming hostess, very nice, attentive
and informative bartender/ server, delicious fresh food. My first visit (Tuesday evening) was surprisingly delightful: I loved the atmosphere! Beautiful lighting and decor; very relaxed and comfortable. A big yes.
Excellent food in a nice setting. A family favorite for special occasions
Food was very nice, but loud and service could use work. We liked the food, but the dining room has acoustic issues. I could hear conversations going on around the room, but could not hear the waiter, or my wife across the table. Service was inattentive, and was unimpressive. Food though was very good. Some typical Italian items, and some inspired items. Cocktail was tasty. Prices, from what we had, were commiserate with the food quality and portions. Will try it another time, but probably not soon.
What a great spot in Ayer!!! Beats driving far for an equally good meal elsewhere.
Excellent as always!
Steve was a great waiter and have enjoyed his fine service many times over the years.
A very friendly atmosphere with good food selections. The best was the food came out piping hot and was served in abundance. The desert I ordered was top notch as well as the cappuccino served in a hot cup - and excellent to taste. The entire evening out met our expectations and we will surely be back again when we can afford to do so.
Food was delicious and ambience was great !
the meal and service were impecable, too expensive for me to go to often, but great for special occasions.
i witld certainly send my friends. the prices arn't outrageos and worth every cent.
Two terrific veal dishes and great appetizer. Honey "rags" go well with coffee
Nice food but service was slow and indifferent. Tired of big prices with lousy service.
I had to go find the waitress when we were ready to leave.
Staff was very professional and attentive. The occasion was Valentine's Day, which is understandably a very busy day for restaurants. The staff at Lucia's did not seem overwhelmed by the day. Will definitely be returning.
This is a regular restaurant choice for us and never disappoints. It is a hidden gem for outstanding Italian food without having to go into the North End of Boston. Bacon wrapped dates are awesome, as is just about everything on the menu. Wait staff is also great.
Valentines dinner, service was excellent, I had some issues with my food. Beef tenderloin over cooked, they made immediate correction. The manager/owner and wait staff very willing to service recover. We will give this restaurant another try.
Perfect evening, atmosphere, waitress was excellent ,food amazing, busy hotspot,I would suggest reservations,a definite repeat...
We go on special occasions and we try to bring friends who don’t usually come there. It has good food, the staff is good. We always seem to get one waiter and I hate to say it but he never gets our meals or drinks correct. At first okay but after coming several times you would think he gets it. Not overly friendly. My personal opinion.
Such a great restaurant - the food here is always fantastic. Service is attentive and friendly, and ambiance is perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Awesome place!
We live in Boston and visit the north end often. We were in Ayer for a get together , I would def drive out just to eat here. Better meal than I have had at some north end restaurants.
Fantastic food and service was great. Would definitely come back!
We go there often, and the food is great as a rule. The service is always friendly and attentive. I like the ambience. The white lights are festive and make for a romantic atmosphere. I had a new dish from them which was the short rib ragu. It was tender and moist but not very flavorful (at least to my liking). That was unusual as normally I love everything on the menu. The waitstaff insisted on “comp-ing” the meal on my bill insisting that “just ok” wasn’t good enough. I was really impressed by that.
I’d highly recommend this restaurant for the food, and if occasionally a new dish doesn’t work out, it’s nice to know that they strive to make it right.
We have eaten at Lucias several times and find it a great place for special occasions, or just to have a really good meal with friends. It is a real surprise to find such a special place in the suburbs. Definitely not a "mall" experience !
This is a hidden jewel of a place ...!!!!
What a great ambiance ..!!!
The menu reads like a beautiful small village in Italy!
Specials are always an attraction for us.If going to Boston’s North End is only thought , Trovala is equal if not better.
From the hostess, general manager, waitress and bartender and all of the staff will make sure the dining experience is nothing short of the best.
We definitely will spread the great find.
Our experience here is always enjoyable. Really enjoyed seeing Matt and sharing our experience/comments. Look forward to the next time.
Loved the atmosphere!!! Food was fantastic!! Service was superb!! Jamie was awesome!!! We will have dinner there again!!
In trying to make dinner plans with friends we hadn’t seen in a while, we all realized we were tired or disappointed with our “usual” places. We remembered how much we enjoyed Lucia’s when it was in Brookline, NH, and hadn’t been to the Ayer location with this couple, so we made reservations (highly recommended as they were packed!) and were not disappointed!
The ambiance at a window table was wonderful. Our waiter Matthew D. Was awesome; so attentive and with a charming personality. The food.... delicious, and there was something to please everyone. Three empty plates and one box to go, though we all shared deserts. Lucia’s is certain to be on our “return” list again soon!
Lucias has been our favorite restaurant since we discovered it about 5 years ago😊
