Lucia's Tavola Ratings and Reviews
Went recently for an anniversary dinner. Outstanding on all fronts! The food and service were both fabulous. We ordered the seasonal special entrees that our waiter told us were available that night. We split an appetizer, split a salad and each had an entree. Portions were big, we could have easily split the entree. We split a tiramisu for dessert, it was North End quality! We would definitely go back. Not inexpensive, but the value was solid and well worth it.
Looking for a new spot to eat on date night and found Lucia Tavolis so we gave it a shot. Reservations were on time sat at the bar until seated. Our waiter Steve was great however something must of been wrong in the kitchen because it took over an hour to be served. We ordered two pasta dishes nothing fancy. The bill was over $100 not including tip. It could of been an off night but to be honest if I am going to pay top dollar I’ll head to Gibbet Hill or The Chop House
This is an excellent Italian restaurant with innovative dishes. This is not a just a pile o pasta place. Wine list is thoughtful and affordable, presentation is very good, the wait staff are very professional, and the ambiance is very nice. Sound levels are perfect. In the food desert that is North and West of Boston, this place is a find.
We were seated right away. It wasn't that busy. Our drinks came soon and we're tasty. I ordered the saltimboca and I really didn't like it. I think it was the consistency. The flavor was ok but it seemed mushy. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. Overall it was a nice dining experience. I just won't order that again.
Disappointed. Have been here 3 other times and had good to great meals. The lobster gnocchi was pretty poor. I knew on first trying to cut through a lobster claw with my fork and couldn't get it through that it was going to be a long meal. The lobster was tough and overcooked/old and was not savory at all. The gnocci was very doughy (raw?) and I couldn't eat it. Basically that NEVER happens to me - I eat everything on my plate. I left 2/3 of it behind. Too bad - the rest of the experience - the ambiance, the waitstaff, etc were spot on.
Overall the restaurant was very nice. Good ambiance and apps (olives were a highlight). Good, attentive service. Decent wine selection and others in my group seemed to really enjoy dinner. Unfortunately my sirloin was as tough as a shoe. Cooked med rare, I got nervous when I needed more leverage to cut it in half. Unforgivable. Lastly Tiramisu was delicious. I'll no doubt give it another try because there isn't much competition but we'll see.
Our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The inside of Lucia's is quaint with a dark ceiling and nicely decorated walls. The bar area was very nice as well. We noted quite a few people eating dinner there as well. Our server was attentive and great about suggestions and recommendations. I had the Chicken Parmesan which was delicious. A nice breading on the chicken that was not heavy or greasy. The red sauce was well seasoned and very tasty. My husband had the chicken special which had different squashes in a nice sauce. We ended our meal by splitting the Zabaglione which was filled with fresh berries and covered with just the right amount of the delicious sauce. We will definitely be back! One thing to note as well - they have a wonderful takeout special which many customers were taking advantage of.
We have been enjoying meals at Lucia's since they were located in Bedford,NH; great quality food and personable staff. Things have gone downhill over the last year or so; staff is disinterested, meals often are served luke warm to cold to burnt. I'm afraid our most recent visit will be our last. Sorry, Matt.
We really like this restaurant even though it's a bit of a drive for us. The chef makes some great Italian dishes and they always have really good specials. Also, plenty of meat, chicken and fish dishes to choose from. The lobster gnocchi are a must try and the eggplant parm is both delicious and huge. The pasta dishes are creative. The wine list is decent and the atmosphere is comfortable. My wife really likes the fact that they have tablecloths (one of her hangups). Overall a great dining experience and I would highly recommend you give it a try.
Despite noting it was our anniversary we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant. When we asked to be seated at one of the empty tables for two we were refused. Food was heavily peppered - it was hard for me to tell the difference between the scallops and the duck based on taste. My wife's steak was fatty and hard to chew. My first glass of bourbon had a speck in it - probably pepper. I sent it back and the replacement bourbon was even more meager than the first pour.
The food and service were very good. The dining area is spacious and the noise level was fine, which seems to be rare these days. Obviously, they have a talented chef. Recommend they update their drinks list - my husband ordered a port and was told they no longer serve that, along with three other types of port on their list. Other than that minor detail, everything was great and we had a very enjoyable evening!
We were going out to celebrate an anniversary. It was loud and crowded. Our meals took a long time to arrive due to the crowd. I requested no mushrooms on my dish but it was loaded with them.
The food was good but I was disappointed in noise level and long time for the food to arrive. Our waitress was lovely...
I think they should have offered us a glass of wine or a dessert for the very long wait.
