Lucia Ristorante Winchester Ratings and Reviews
Special occasion dinner, which turned out to be the best Italian food we've had in quite a long time. Last time we attended Lucia's was over 15 years ago, so it was nice to see the restaurant was still in business and doing very well at that. I'd recommend Lucia's to anyone, it is well worth it!
It was our first return trip to this restaurant in about 20 years and we will NOT be in any rush to return. We were placed in an odd corner of the restaurant against a wall that looked like it was not completed during a renovation. The assigned waitress never came to our table so another waiter took over. We never heard about dinner specials, only knew about them after we ordered from the menu when we overheard a waitress tell a nearby table!
The food was good but not great. They only positive thing I can say is that the busboy was very attentive to us and even wished us a good night when we left.
With so many really good Italian restaurants within a couple of miles, such as TreMonte in Woburn, there is no need to go here.
The food was traditional and nothing outstanding. The tile floor and brick walls made a half full restaurant sound very full. The waitress was cordial but forgetful. When we were leaving, we asked for some extra slices of the delicious bread and were told to pay $5 for a loaf. It's the cheapest thing you can get and that response was not appreciated.
A hidden gem located in Winchester square. Food selection was very good with a broad range of pasta, creative home made italian specialties and seafood entrees. Portions were good sized however entrees only came with side of bread ( excluding pasta served with each dish) and is not a bargain priced eatery. Food was well prepared, with well balanced seasoning and pleasant taste. We enjoyed every dish we tried and the wait staff was pleasant and informative if not slightly over attentive, however we did go on a slow Monday night. Overall a very good experience.
I have been to Restorante Lucia's in Winchester many times. This time was a special occasion for a birthday party for a close friend.
I was very disappointed this time, the service was poor, the food was just okay. I think the reason might have been they had a very large party in the main Dining Room. We did not sit in the dining room but in a little alcove near the kitchen. Not a great table.
The restaurant menu is ambitious. Prices are medium to inexpensive. The location is convenient in Winchester Center. The service was good, but servers kept rushing us - noone was waiting after us - they kept swooping in and taking some diners meals, asking if we were done when we weren't - we were not there too long. The music was too loud & an inappoprriate choice for a dinner restaurant. The server did not know much about the wines. The pasta sauce was very good. Other dishes were fair - ok. A stuffed veal chop special was fatty & tough.
Went to Lucia on a Sunday Night with a party of 8 people. The place was less than half full and my concerns that there may be limited staff and 2nd string chefs was alleviaed quickly. The service was great and the food was far above average. The menu selection was great for both kids meals (no separate kids menu)and for more refined adult tastes who want more than just standard Italian cuisine. Clean, fiendly and good service will bring me back again.
Great authentic Italian flair in the Burbs! So many choices to choose from, and we were not disappointed with our main entrees. I had the little necks w/ linguine and those clams were succulent and sweet. My husband had seafood w/ pasta, and he enjoyed it as well. The fried calamari appetizer could've used a little umph to it though. Wine selection was plenty and the price was just right. The cannoli......WOW!! Should've gotten a dozen of those to go....next visit we will 8-)
The food was very good. However, the service was not! Not once did our waiter ask us how our meal was. We had to wait to find a waiter to bring us more water. We asked one and it took another 20 minutes for another waiter to come and fill our glasses. By that point we were almost finished with our meal. I don't think I'll be returning. I prefer attentive service and this place just didn't have it.
The maitre de made a great effort to get us into the main room.
He originally was going to seat us in a side area, but when we told him we wanted to be in the main room, he graciously accomodated us and then made sure we were happy.
Excellent service. The four of us ate every single bite off our plates, the food is outstanding. We had not been to Lucia's for a couple of years, but will be returning soon after the new year.
Lucia served us some of the best Old World Italian food we have had in some time. We love our Italian the way GrandMa made it, and often we are disappointed with the new twists that some restaurants add to remain au courant. At Lucia, we were so pleased with the Olivata appetizer -- fresh olive spread on toasted garlic bread, and thrilled with the traditional Lasagna with meat. Imaginative old world decor with excellent service, and super wine list.
The ingredients were spectacularly fresh and the portions were ample!. We traveled a bit to get to Lucia based on Open Table reviews and were thrilled -- we will definitely be back.
