Lucia Ristorante Winchester Ratings and Reviews
We have been here many times, always a great time!
John our waiter was exceptional as always, Ron the head bus is awesome they are attentive friendly and professional. The food is authentic Italian fresh cooked to perfection all the time.
We met the pasta chef that night he explained how the different pasta are made, he was a pleasure to speak with. I really can’t say enough about this place it’s a gem!
Met a friend for dinner and neither of us had been to the restaurant before. The service was great. A gentleman came to the table less than a minute after we sat down and poured water and also brought over a basket of very good bread. Our waitress and a trainee came over after several minutes to take our drink order. We hadn't seen each other for a while so we didn't look at the menu for probably 10-15 minutes but the waitress came to our table several times to check on us. We finally got around to looking at the menu and both order our dinners. The food was excellent and the service was great. I will be returning with my husband as I know he would really enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
Family reunion-service attentive but not over baring. Even the bus person was extremely pleasant and attentive when I asked to get our server when I forgot to place an order to go. He got the waiter right away and quickly boxed our foods and returned to the table.
Been looking forward to trying Lucia and decided to go for my daughter's birthday. I'll start with the good.
Good: everything on the menu looked good, what we ordered was excellent, price was reasonable.
Bad: the restaurant wasn't busy , we probably did not need a reservation. The temperature in the restaurant was warm, probably in the low 70's? Although not busy our server was very quick and not once checked back during the meal. The tables around us with different servers were all getting the service I would expect. We found out from one of the other servers as they took care of the table next to us that there were specials, one of which we would have ordered (lobster ravioli).
Lucia's is a combination of a really good red sauce Italian restaurant AND innovative Italian kitchen. That's why it is a great place to go with a group comprising less imaginative eaters and adventurous palates. The standards (veal parm, chicken saltimbocca, etc.) are prepared with a light touch (nothing drowning in oil), and the more interesting choices (chicken piccata with fried artichokes, stuffed veal chop) have wonderfully balanced flavor. This is our go-to restaurant when three generations of hungry people are together.
OH, and I loved our waiter!
Our family met another family for dinner at Lucia and we were all very happy with our food. The bread was delicious, the wine was great, and the pizza, pasta, and salad were excellent. The service was friendly. We would go back for another occasion, although the higher-than-average prices keep us from being regulars. It's a great place to go for a birthday or to take friends. Thank you for a great experience!
I feel so spoiled to live so close to numerous good restaurants, and Ristorante Lucia is one of them. Our family went to celebrate a Father's Day dinner and the food, wine, bread and cappuccino were all excellent, as expected. I hadn't been there in about 6 months, but I will return very soon because there is no reason to travel to the North End when you have Lucia's right in the heart of Winchester Center.
Nice quiet local restaurant with a very good menu and lengthy wine list. I came from Boston to meet some friends for dinner (a 45 minute drive) and I wasn't disappointed, It was worth the drive. My friend had Veal Marsala and raved about it. Veal was done just right. I'd definitely return.
setup was ready early, staff was very pleasant and accommodating, food was very good and served very quickly after ordering. We socialized for a while following dinner and there was no apparent urgency on the part of staff for us to leave. overall a very satisfactory experience.
I haven't been to this restaurant in many years. When I lived in Winchester, it was below mediocre. Many improvements since then, including the physical space. They did a nice job renovating. Service was good - old school. In fact everything about the place was rather old school, including the menu. I had a lemon chicken dish that was blah. The side of pasta and red sauce just wasn't good. I eat regularly at Gaetano's in Stoneham and I have to say that on any given night, their food is better. I went to Lucia's because I was in the area. Might eat there again for the same reason, but with so many other places to choose from, maybe not. My dining companion wasn't too impressed with her dish either. Caesar salad was pretty good. Sorry, just not bringing it for me.
Lucia has re- done the inside of the restaurant over with great results. The bar is bigger and definitely much louder than than main dining room. The dining room has new circular booths which have a great view of the restaurant and Main Street. The food is simply phenomenal. We had the Linguine w/ clams and the chicken parm. Equal to North End in terms of food and service. Lemonchello martini? The best! The bartender (female I might add) knows her craft.
Great service, the chef even stopped by to check on us. We were celebrating my daughter's college graduation and had several younger children in our party. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Thank you for accommodating us and making it a memorable experience!
This was our second time here. First was for a large party for my 90 year old cousin two years ago and this time was a visit to Boston since my daughter was running in the marathon we took my cousin to dinner. Both time were fantastic. Food & service were top shelf. Will definitely go back on our next visit and would encourage all to go who want some fantastic Italian food.
