Good good and service. Very nice North End restaurant
Very good for first time in the area. Only complaint was the noise level in the downstairs area.
This restaurant is advertised as having good gluten free options, which is why I chose it as a member of our party has celiac. We were THOROUGHLY disappointed to learn the only GF pasta is penne, which is not clear from the menu. The gluten free pasta was NOT GOOD. Our waiter was pretty inattentive and when at the end of our meal, the celiac member of our party asked to have the food removed from the bill as she was unable to eat it, the server and manager created a big fuss. I have NEVER been to a restaurant where this has happened—typically the service in the North End is lovely but it was far from that this time. When they offered a 50% discount, I did say that is ridiculous and I have never encountered such treatment, they reasoned some of the food had been eaten (2 bites). Having worked in the customer service industry myself, I was always taught that a happy customer should come first. The server and manager did not share that mentality. I felt their treatment was far from accommodating and offensive. Ultimately the food was removed from the bill, but it was made into a very uncomfortable experience and that should not have been the case. Everyone else’s food was fine and one person was disappointed, it could’ve ended there, but by the end of the night we all left disappointed. Suffice to say we will not be back.
Great! Went there for Mother's Day, it was crowded (as expected) but service was great and food exceptional! Love Lucia's!
Great meal, but pretty poor service. Does not feel like a true north end experience - bread was bad quality and they gave butter packets instead of olive oil/pepper. A lot of seats there are too secluded with no lighting (especially upstairs and downstairs). Waiter forgot about us multiple times.
The food itself though was very good.
The restaurant was cozy, the service extremely efficient. My guests raved about their meals. They even had gluten free pasta which was a must for one of my guests. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The only fly in the ointment was that it was graduation weekend in Boston for a number of colleges and one large graduation party had a table near ours. As our meal progressed, they got louder and we had trouble conducting conversation. I am not going to hold that against the restaurant and I will definitely be back!
The food was amazing! The portions were large, filling and delicious (and I went with my boyfriend who eats everything in sight) - definitely will be going back.
Excellent traditional Italian food. The service could not be better. What a beautiful space too. Very quaint and lots of character. We really enjoyed it!
We took our Japanese guests to dinner here. They loved it! Great food and service. Thank you.
Always a great meal at Lucia! The service is great, Christian is always a pleasure to have as a server. The special veal chop is always my go to and it never disappoints!
It’s loud during prime time Saturday upstairs. We are young and thought it was pretty loud. The burratta appetizer was amazing. Sundries veal ghocci dish seemed salty but still a good dinner.
Wanted to try a new restaurant in the North End and picked this one based on good reviews. It did not disappoint! Our waiter, Christian, was very friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and made great meal suggestions. Everyghint we ordered was delicious; antipasto, bread, homemade pasta, meatballs and sausage - all good. Our out of town guest, who eats nothing but homemade "sauce", asked to buy some pasta sauce to take home and share with her mother and grandmother (who also make their own sauce) so they can taste how good it is!! The only item that was just ok was the lasagna, as it was a bit salty. The atmospere was cozy and comfortable and the staff was gracious that we selected Lucia's.
Despite a noise level that made it very hard to hear conversations at our table, the service was outstanding for our party of seven. The filet of sole was outstanding and all the pasta entrees were fresh and flavorful. Being able to make a reservation was a plus for a restaurant in the North End.
Food is awesome. Staff was a bit inattentive. Great North End location and food offerings.
Came for a graduation dinner and was not disappointed! Food was delicious and authentic Italian. Service was prompt but not pushy. Great north Boston experience
Food and service was fantastic! Great restaurant would recommend to everyone!
Great place, great work staff. Owner is super friendly. Highly recommend
This was our first visit. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a neighborhood atmosphere. The tricolore pasta for 2 was delicious homemade pasta with 3 very good sauces. Prices reasonable and portions are generous. And the bread was so good could have made my dinner out of that and a salad.
This is my favorite restaurant in the North End. I’ve been going here for years.
The staff is absolutely wonderful; friendly, accommodating and attentive. They make you feel more like a family member (one that likes :-) you) as soon as you step through their door. The food is always amazing - no matter what you select from their menu. (Every time I introduce a friend to Lucia’s, I watch them take their first bite to see which one of two things happen - either they light up like a Christmas tree OR their eyes roll into the back of their head.)
The portions are large enough to cause me to think “I won’t be able to eat all of this” yet delicious enough to make me clean my plate. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the cuisine. (I don’t enjoy alcohol, so I can’t provide much here, but they have a decent wine list and I remember our waiter recommending something from 2003 (or maybe it was 2004).
I love the artwork on the ceiling, the exposed brick and the intimate setting.
It takes me 1.5 hours to get to Lucia’s from where I live - but it is soooo worth it!
The food and service was good but the noise level was way too loud. It was hard to have a conversation with someone across the table from you.
The food is delicious and the service is impeccable by our waiter Christian! A lovely dining Experience in Boston’s little Italy
This has been our must-go-to restaurant in Little Italy for about a decade. We try to go here whenever we are visiting Boston. Not quite up to expectations this last visit. Hopefully just an off night, but I don't think we will be going back
Fantastic place. One of the few restaurant in the States that surpasses the restaurants I visited in Italy.
From the moment we walked in the door we were serviced right away . The service was exceptional and the food was unbelievable . We really enjoyed it . Everyone was so friendly and helpful ... our waiter had great suggestions .
I would highly recommend to anyone !!
Always outstanding food and service
Lucia's was pretty decent overall. The atmosphere was warm and inviting as they sat our party of three in comfortable booths. We shared the calamari appetizer, which were pretty good. We almost finished the generous portion. Two of us had the Pollo Marsala, which other than needing quite a bit of salt, was quite good. Plenty of mushrooms in good sauce. The other person in our group had the Pollo Lucia. She thought the flavor was just ok and it was bland like the Marsala, needed salt. The staff, from receptionist to waiter, were excellent. Timely and attentive to the details.
Family dinner out. Everyone loved this restaurant! Is now one of our family favorites!
I took my 16 year old son and his friend to Lucia's this week. We all loved our meals. My son got the homemade pasta with meatballs and I got the homemade pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil. Everything was delicious.
We were a larger group there the night before the Boston Marathon. The staff at Lucia was a pleasure to deal with (including the multiple additions we made to our party leading up to the weekend) and the food and service was great, as usual. Will definitely be back!
Delightful meal. Very authentic. Excellent service and ambiance.
Service was quick, waiter had great recommendations, food was amazing!
Always warm and welcoming. Delicious food. Engaging servers.
Beautiful restaurant in the North End. Excellent service. The lasagna was one of the best, and the shrimp scampi apertivo was a 10+. Seriously.
My favorite Italian restaurant in the north end! Can’t wait to be back 😋😋
Really enjoyed our dinner. Food was flavorful & portions size good. Ambiance was nice & we had a great table. Service was ok, lengthy periods of no service but it was Saturday night....Definitely recommend as an option for North End dining.
Walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted with smiles. My daughter and I were seated in the downstairs part of the establishment. It was a very nice intimate setting without feeling crowded. We were not really hungry but ended up eating more than we thought because everything tasted so good. The fresh pasta was a home run. The service was excellent. I would certainly go back.
Love Lucia's. I always want to eat here when I am in the North End. Great food. Friendly staff.
I got the simplest dinner on the menu - penne rigati in a light, pink cream sauce (basically penne in a vodka sauce). First taste, I knew something was off. Then the rest of the table (my family members) tried it and we all agreed that it tasted like blueberries. Maybe they used Blueberry vodka by accident when making the sauce? It was awful. We also ordered a few bottles of white wine which came to the table at room temperatute - not chilled. I won't be going back here.
