Located at the heart of Hanover Street, Lucia Ristorante is an institution in Boston's North End. Opened in 1977, Lucia was the first restaurant to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Boston's oldest neighborhood. We continue to combine traditional Italian favorites with innovative new dishes in our distinctive atmosphere. We felt that the food, drinks, and wine were off the charts good and a great value. We got there early and noise level was fine but as the restaurant filled was loud. The service was okay. There were a lot of staff on; however, our server who was very busy was not able to check in or attend to us as expected.

We’ve been a few times and now I can honestly say I will not be returning. They jam you in to a small space. It took a while for a waiter to come and ask if we wanted anything. I had to ask for bread. When it arrived, it was ice cold. My salmon dish came and while tasty it must have fallen apart when cooking so it was placed back together. My dish came with a white bean salad which is fine; however, they must have given an entire can of beans. My daughter ordered mussels in a white wine sauce and they came out cold. They were sent back for reheating. All in all there are other establishments that are better.

When my family comes in from NY to visit they always want to go to Lucia's if at all possible. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is totally North End. They even have entrees for diner with allergies and they are still delicious! This time was no exception. And Frank the Maitre'd is a plus he told us about the special items for people with certain allergies. Always a great time!

We met friends from NY for dinner at this charming and very friendly restaurant. It was our first time dining with them and everyone was wonderful. The food was even better! We cannot wait to return to our new favorite North End restaurant. Big shout out to Frank and the entire team for an amazing evening!

Sadly disappointed. Our server was very nice and apologetic with the food taking so long. The front door staff were very nice, but the ‘fresh’ pasta was nothing close to fresh. My gnocchi tasted like mold and the eggplant parm was tasteless and under seasoned. I hate to leave a bad review which is why this is just food based for negativity, but when in the North End you want good food and unfortunately they missed the mark this night.

Our meal was delicious but we honestly felt a little rushed. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was served. We each stepped away for the restroom to wash up and the meal was served before we had a chance to drink any of our wine and the second person hadn’t even made it back from the bathroom yet. Our server was not impolite, but maybe should be more aware and realize that people don’t want to chug a bottle of wine and eat a meal and be out the door in 30 minutes.

Took my daughter after we saw Hamilton yesterday. It was a birthday celebration day. Sat in Ricardo’s section and service was top notch. Meal was delicious, having leftovers for lunch. A must try when in the North End.

Completely disappointed. They had a group of 14 girls literally screaming and shouting. People in our section refused to sit and some left. Family was in from out of town and we couldn’t get up and leave due to our schedule. Will never return at this point.

Our reservation was at 4 pm but we arrived early & Lucia’s was able to take us. The service was wonderful & the food was very good! It was early so it was quiet in the restaurant which was great. They didn’t rush us & we had a wonderful dinner!

3 generations getting a meal before a Bruins game. Freshest calamari appetizer we’d ever had. Salmon entree with white bean salad and asparagus was excellent. Frutti di Mare was loaded with seafood. Tortellini with pesto was very good. Service was attentive and we were served quickly so that we could get to the game. It was our first time and we will definitely return.

I came here with my boyfriend who lives in Philly because i wanted to take him to the the North End. I’ve had Lucia’s from the Winchester location multiple times and have never had a bad meal there, so I was sure this would be the perfect place to take him. I raved about how great dinner would be and he was really excited. I’ve never been so disappointed by a meal from the North End. Both of our dinners were bland and average pasta dishes. I was so embarrassed to have hyped this place up so much to him. I would definitely not pay for what we ate, especially considering the location’s notoriety for great food. I will not be returning and would not recommend the North End location - I hope the Winchester location stays the same.

Nice people and good service. Food was only fair. Ordered a seafood dish with pasta. Lots of calamari, only 2 shrimps and 4 clams with very little pasta. Very little taste to the dish. Wife ordered eggplant parm which she didn’t like . Maybe we hit it on a bad night. I won’t go back, too many other great restaurants in the north end to choose from.

All of our water glasses were dirty. When I asked for a new one, a lady took the glass, laughed and I can only assume cussed out the whole table in Italian. She ended up just wiping the glass with a napkin. The food was poor quality and tasteless. It was extremely loud and the tables are cramped together. The waiter was overworked, non attentive and rude. Wouldn’t recommend.

The bread was soft and delicious. We got drinks off of the specialty menu and they were very good. As for the entrees, I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the lasagna. Both were delicious. The staff was very nice and we were not rushed through our meal. It was a wonderful evening.

We were seated upstairs, which was extremely loud and difficult to hear other people at our table . The food and service were good, but would decline from going back d/t the noise level.
