Great food and friendly service. It’s a neighborhood gem.
Great service with good comfort food. Will come back again.
Lucetti's is consistently good. Food, service, and energy in the restaurant is terrific.
One of my favorite restaurants. Friendly staff & service.
Always great. Lovely neighborhood gem!
Our group of five former high school girlfriends meets monthly, taking turns choosing the restaurant. Lately, every one has chosen Luceti’s! Food and service are great and location convenient.
This was my fifth visit in as many months, this time with a party of six. What is good about Lucite's is that as an Italian restaurant big groups don't phase them. I've recently dined there with twelve and they handled everything competently.
The food is good, the drinks reasonable, it's a good family place to dine.
My husband and I were there with a close friend who is acquainted with the personnel. we had great service from our wait lady. The food was delicious and plentiful. the wine was perfect. we sat at the bar for a drink before dinner, and enjoyed visiting with others at the bar---a warm and friendly place!
Love it there, foods great. We had crab salads and calamari yummy
I went on Valentine's Day. It was crowded but the people
at Luceti's handled it well. They moved some tables around
to take away the closed-in feeling.
I had the price-fixed menu that included everything.
The only thing that was not great was their selection of
the wine - not a great selection. For my main dish- I had Leg of Lamb - it was outstanding.
I would go back just for the Leg of Lamb
Though the restaurant was extremely busy the food and service was excellent
We went for Valentines day which may have been our own fault. The food was good but
it was crowded, overbooked and loud. Absolutely nothing romantic about it. We were
seated close to the bar and my chair was hit by the wait staff, bar guests and the hostess trying
to seat people numerous times. They ran out of some of the dinner options, bread etc. Just
not a great experience for us.
Enjoyed a very lovely fixed meal with champagne & wine. The portion was plentiful but had room for dessert. The service was very attentive even for a busy night. Would definitely go back.
We had a lovely dinner with family. Our waitress was excellent and the food was delicious. It was a special evening and we will be back soon!
The one thing I would say is that I wish there were gluten and allergen free foods for me. I was very limited in my choices for dinner. Foods that do not include gluten, soy, corn and dairy would be great.
The food was excellent with the exception of the margarite pizza. Dough not good.
Waiter was friendly too.
Great Italian food. Expensive but good. Love the old world atmosphere. Service is excellent.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant with authentic Italian food. It gets busy so I recommend reservations be made. The food is excellent and fairly priced. The serving sizes are excellent and the service is very good. They always have wild Salmon and I recommend it highly . The Pastas are all excellent . The bar is welcoming and definitely a neighborhood hangout. I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Consistently good food and service. Warm atmosphere, friendly owners, but noise level is generally off the charts.
It is to loud to talk with your table mates. Everyone has to talk loud to her heard; no fun. Sad as the food is good.
rare italian family style restaurant in San Mateo
This was the 3rd consecutive month we ate at Luceti's, although I've been eating there for over 20 years. The food was good, but it's the service that brings us back. If you really want authentic, ask for Titi. She is from Napoli and has an Italian accent. There's hardly any more "Italian" restaurants that has someone who speaks the language.
Luceti's is no worse than #1 (no typo) on my personal list of favorite places to "enjoy" a meal. Yeah, the food is very good, all the staff are (IMHO) exceptionally friendly and seriously unpretentious (they're fun), it's convenient, the wait staff are genuinely friendly (again, if pretention is your thing you might not be so sanguine), etc. But, best of all is the character of your dining "companions" around the room and the welcoming ambiance they produce. If you live on your "device" you're gonna be pretty lonely. If you need silence to monitor the sound of your tongue and nose evaluating the body and bouquet of one of the very nice wines they have available you've probably come to the wrong place with the wrong expectations.
We (the wife and I) are not Italian but sure pretend to be when we dine there and see the joy with which the diners enjoy not only their meal but also the company of those with whom they're dining (and, occasionally the couple or fully "staffed" table nearby). Yup, Luceti's tends to be a bit on the loud side at dinner time but its the sound of people enjoying other people and occasionally having to speak up in order to do so. No matter what I felt like before coming in the front (or back...where greater parking is available) door, I always leave with a smile on my face and a fully satisfied tummy.
We enjoyed our New Years Eve Dinner here with wonderful food and wine. Spoke to the new owners (Paul and Sandy) who were very nice and made you feel welcome. Would definitely come here again - as it's a wonderful neighborhood gem.
Great food fun and service! An old school Italian restaurant.
All the staff was very friendly and was there to make sure we had everything we needed. Food was outstanding and pricing was within our budget.
Server that night wasn’t friendly
Our group was seated in small dining area so it was semi private. Table was beautifully set with red roses. Our meal was served promptly for such a big group and was delicious and plentiful. Owners were very gracious throughout.
long wait for the food. my chicken was dry. other then that they did great making our moms bday special by allowing us to light a cake for her and present it to her that evening.
Super! Great ambiance, friendly staff and authentic italian food!
Filet of sole meuniere is delicious - light and flavorful.
We went for my husband's birthday and I could not have been more pleased. The service and food were just amazing . . . I could not have asked for better!
Luceti's is an excellent place to go for a fabulous meal. We have never gone wrong fhere. The food, beverage, and service were all excellent.
Great Italian Food. Great Service. Lighting is bright, in a vibrant large dining area.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Lucetti's is always great, lots of great Italian choices. We share calamari. I enjoyed ravioli and my wife had lasagne. Our guest had canneloni. Everyone was very happy. The house Chianti is great.
I have been going to Lucetti for many years ant it will alwf it will Iii Leila always. Be one of my favorites.
Nicely seasoned bruschetta and wonderful calamari steak. Tasty Caesar salad and veal piccata. Can’t wait to go back.
We love it there but it seems to be getting more crowded and exiting can be dangerous in case of an emergency or even leaving from dinner!
Scallops were terrific as usual. The French onion soup was so lacking flavor which probably confirmed the lack of onions. Thin watery soup. Used to be very good. Will return for scallops meunière but no more onion soup. Would have ordered another scotch but never saw the waitress again.
The food is too pricey for what you're actually getting. It way too much. The overall total had us upset.
The only reason I rate the value as poor is because the food was subpar. Granted, it was Thanksgiving and they don't serve turkey year round, but it could have been tastier (especially for $40 . Also, $8 dollars for a rather slim piece of pumpkin pie is just absurd. Service could not have been better though. Will try this again and get Italian food next time.
