Founded in 2006, Luce is a local favorite featuring many traditional dishes. Flavors which often bring our guests back to their best memories of Italian specialties.

My goal for this restaurant to create a warm environment for all guests that is typical of a true Italian heritage.

Our menu consists of many Buonincontri family recipes and recipes brought back from travel to Italy.

Fresh fish, meats and produce expound throughout Luce's offerings and a focus on the finest ingredients are what make Luce special.

House made Gnocchi, Italian rice balls and homemade Mozzarella are just a few examples our passion for the finest Italian food.The word Enoteca means wine library. The walls of the entire restaurant are covered with wine bottles as you would expect books to cover the walls of a library. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Luce is a hidden gem and one of the best Italian restaurants in San Antonio. I selfishly hope no one reads this review….. Everything is absolute perfection, happy hour at the bar is superb, hand stuffed my martini blu cheese olives and the staff could not be more attentive. Dinner as usual was smokin hot good and Shani took amazing care of us. 5star.

We really enjoyed Luce. We ordered an appetizer with eggplant and zucchini, a caesar salad, two main dishes and a pizza to try. Everything was delicious except the lobster ravioli. It was extremely fishy (Yes, I know it was lobster, but I’ve had it before at another restaurant and it was not fishy) and the lobster pieces were tough. The pizza had a thin crust and was delicious!

The service, food, and beautiful atmosphere made our dining experience one that we'll never forget. Everyone was so nice and courteous. The food was amazing, and perfectly cooked! The owner was there after we ate and knew what we had ordered, asking if everything was to our liking, and we stated perfecto!

We had a wonderful relaxing time, no rush on getting the table turned. Very attentive server and was on top of things. Food was good & hot, presented well and huge portions. Wine selection is great and the mixed drinks are very good.

Outstanding experience! Courteous greeting upon arrival. The drinks were done just right. The waiter was delightful. The risotto was delicious, and the steak was prepared correctly. We will return.

We visited Luce for Restaurant Week. The menu was quite extensive and our choices were amazing. We started with the meatballs and the sautéed shrimp. Then moved on to the fresh fish and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and sausage. And topped it off with gelato. The service was also amazing! We very much enjoyed our experience.

We will not be back and we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone! One of our meals was not what we ordered. The waitress did correct her mistake, however. The pizza was okay, not the best. Our orders all came out at different times. In fact we were completely finished with our meal before our daughter-in-law's meal came. The salad was good but dressing choices were extremely limited - only two options. I'm not sure if our waitress was new or just inexperienced. This is definitely NOT one of the top 10 Italian restaurants in San Antonio! There are too many others that surpass this establishment! Never again!

Nice restaurant with delicious food. Be aware that "Happy Hour" during the week does not apply to drinks (at least not glasses of wine), unlike what is advertised on line. Happy hour prices are for a selection of appetizers.

My Italian father-in-law was excited to have braciola, which is hard to find in SATX. The description said it was made of tenderloin, but it was quite tough and lacking filling. The salmon with caper cream dish was salty and the risotto was overly chewy. All pastas were more than al dente. But, on a good note the bread (with butter trio) and red sauce were delicious. The highlight of the evening was the service and the ambience!

Luce is a terrific little restaurant. Great food, great wine, never so noisy that you can't have a dinner conversation. The service is always attentive without being pushy. We have never had a bad dining experience there.

Enjoyed another evening at Luce last weekend and the experience was fantastic. I made reservations for the patio not thinking…. The owner was gracious enough to suggest otherwise so he found a nice table inside. Thanks again Joe! Happy hour at the bar is always a great start and the wine list is worth exploring. We had Lamb and pasta dishes, both were delicious and served with care and attention. We love this restaurant for the food, ambience and attentiveness of the staff. Highly recommend.

Mediocre, as expected from previous visits there. The positives- good service in pretty surroundings at a location convenient for us at reasonable prices. The negatives-the kitchen apparently didn't understand that "not spicey" tomato sauce means exactly that and none of our dinner choices were worth coming back for. I ordered the fruti di mari in which the seafood was overcooked and scarce. My husband had a variety of small plates, none of which were particularly tasty.

This was our first visit to Luce Ristorante. We dined in their wine room. This was one of the few restaurants where noise levels inside were not overwhelming. A rare find these days, and the food and service were good.

I have dined at Luce numerous times, but it had been about 4 years since our last visit. Service was good, but the food was subpar. I order Veal, which was tough and appeared to have been cooked prior and warmed up for diner. I only ate half of my meal and that was tough to get down. Bill came in at $155 for the two of us, and was worth about $70. Very disappointing! I will never go back there again

My reservation was at 7:30 pm and was informed that the kitchen closes at 8:00 pm so we decided to leave as we were celebrating a birthday and did not want to feel rushed. This was my first time here so we have nothing to comment at this time. I am choosing to not recommend only because we did not experience any food or service as we left to another location.

Above average Italian food. I had the Osso Buco with risotto and it was decent. My wife had a Margarita pizza which was excellent. Our male waiter was preoccupied with three attractive young ladies in his section so we had to motion him over several times to order and get water refills which was a bit annoying but overall in was an okay dining experience...

I booked this restaurant for a large party of 8 on very short notice. They were extra accommodating, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. My colleagues could not stop raving about their meals. This was an excellent spot for dinner!

Omg the restaurant was outstanding and wonderful hard worker waiter we had on my moms birthday night, it was an big surprise for her she had no idea about a big birthday dinner she had last night. Our server was super nice and greeted my husband and I shortly after we were seated, but that is where the good experience stops. The bread that was offered after we were seated was okay but the butter trio was less than appetizing. The sun dried tomato butter did not have a butter consistency or flavor and was very watery; while the basil pesto butter was simply green without any flavor at all. The menu was impressive, so we thought, with several veal options and an interesting risotto dish with Italian sausage and langoustine tail meat, which is what I ordered. My husband ordered the veal saltimbocca. The dishes came out in record time with billows of steam rising from each dish as it was plated. Though we did not hear the ding as the microwave was done heating both dishes, they sure seemed to be much hotter than what could be reasonably expected for a fresh cooked meal. I tasted my risotto. It was bland. I moved the risotto around a bit hoping the second bite would prove to be as delicious as I had anticipated, but I was sorely disappointed. My husbands veal saltimbocca was accompanied by fettuccine pasta which was swimming in broth. Both dishes lacked all seasoning. We sheepishly asked the server if we could have salt and he brought some over. Hoping a few sprinkles of salt would bring out the flavors of the Italian cuisine we were looking forward to we added a bit to both plates and tried them again. There was minimal improvement so we ate what we could and asked for the check so we could end this abysmal evening date night dinner.

The food was okay. The appetizer was smothered in bell pepper and onions had to wade through it before I found the wheel sausage. The salmon was dry and smothered again in veggies Had to wad through that to find the salmon and very skimpy on capers as sauce. A charge for a tea refill? Really? Paeseanos better.

We had a nice quiet dinner here. The service was good. Our food was great. They were busy but it was not very loud. Prices were about $50-70 per person with drinks. One of the better Italian restaurants in San Antonio.
