The ambiance is poor because of the lighting. Check out your neighboring Italian restaurants: Fiorello’s, Pomodoro, Pappardella. They are much more upbeat. The bread was stale. Had to ask for butter four times. I was given a fork that was totally dirty. Waiter was inattentive. Food was very good; total experience poor.

Service was confused and delayed. Either we got offered two side dishes of the same kind or not brought at all until we asked several times. Too many waiter served the table.

Food was better than average and the service was okay, not great but not terrible either.

We would go back but not on a regular basis.

Of all the marginal restaurants on the UWS, this is by far the worst. All of the ratings offered here ought to have included a "no stars" option, since the least option was too good for this place. Just awful, unfortunately.

Luce- Too rushed - over booked .
From a past fine ,relaxed dining experience to overbearing waiters and a lack luster manager. We felt rushed .
Waiters repeatedly came over to interrupt our dessert time. Another couple next to us responded by telling the waiter to wait until her dessert was completed and told him she will wave him over when done.
We liked a pasta meal, but will try another restaurant next time .

Everything was consistently delicious, from the sun dried tomato spread that came with the delicious bread, to each and every dish we ordered off the menu. It was homey Italian food with a special twist and extra flair. I would definitely go back! We all enjoyed it very much.

A neighborhood staple with consistently good food. The specials are always good and often surprising. And you can hear each other.

Very nice place. The pastas and fish are especially good. Nice sauteed mushrooms too. The service is great. Quiet and unhurried which is nice too. Outdoor space during good weather.

The good was very good ; the only criticism - the bread (usually a good indicator of what to expect from the rest of the meal ) was just passable. In this case, however, the rest of the meal was delicious . The maitre'd was extremely accommodating ( even charged my cell phone in the back office ) . Overall a very pleasant experience .

Food is okay but definitely nothing special. Sorta a good place to go if you are on the UWS and some of the better Italian places are filled. Otherwise, head to Coppola's West or Pomodoro if you prefer good Italian food. Also, avoid the chicken Lucce - it is extremely spicy - the menu says "sweet and spicy". Don't believe it - one of the spicier dishes I have ever eaten. The restaurant was nice enough to take it back and give me something alternate. The service was VERY nice but VERY slow - long periods of time passed with no one asking how we were doing. Was kinda annoying to have to wait so long for someone to help. So, overall, if you need a place to eat and some of the better places around are full, you won't have a bad time but the food wasn't especially good either. My date's mussels were good, she said. Oh, the tartufo was good too - but then again, everyone's is.

A favorite Lincoln Center area spot. Cordial, lots of Italian choices besides pasta (which is also delicious). Good value and always has reservation ready.

Always a great experience at Luce. The food is delicious! I've never had a bad meal. I especially love the almond crusted red snapper. The mushroom appetizer is to die for. I also really enjoy their ricotta cheesecake. It's light and very delicious. I dine there often and would recommend it to anyone.

Luce is a delightful return to enjoyable dining. The room is large, well lit, and comfortable; tables are placed so that conversations can be held at your table without hearing those at other tables.
Our dinner order was taken promptly after the waiter explained the specials and menu and served in a leisurely manner.
My friends and I enjoyed our dinners and will return again.
Bravo to the entire staff!

Nice restaurant near the movie theatre on 68/Broadway. The risotto with mushrooms was very good as well the veal with asparagus. A half bottle of Chianti for $20 was a good value rather than purchasing 2 glasses of wine. Open front area and seating outdoors was pleasant. The server was very good in checking with the chef to make it a Gluten Free entrée on the veal.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Unfortunately the grilled swordfish I ordered tasted strange and I had to send it back as I didn't want to take any chances. The waiter was nice enough to remove it from the bill and offered me another option.

On a slow night, the service was very poor as most of the waiters had ongoing conversations amogst themselves while ignoring their tables. Fortunately, uthe food wast great, especially the duck ragu.

Had lunch with four people - soups (minestrone and broccoli ) were awful. Salads were inedible - sopping and soggy with bad dressing. Earlier that week we had dinner and had a wonderful veal dish with tomatoes and asparagus , but soup and salads are terrible

I have eaten here before and liked it but this time it was very disappointing.
They stopped serving GF pasta. The recommended wine by the glass had soured.
The clams in the special pasta were sandy, and the staff did not get the difference between gnocci and ravioli.
