Great service and an amazing meal!
Our waiter was fabulous- food was delicious
Wonderful, attentive service, home made pasta!
Sadly the food was served cold, our server had only 5 tables and they were not sat all together. Had to hunt her down for things and eggplant parmesan was horrible.
Had high hopes, but should have known we were in for a bad time when we got the Sangrias. They that had way too much citrus juice. That got partnered up with a super loud “regular” that decided to vent on politics behind us. Dinner was worse. An over cooked slab of chicken on top of undercooked pasta was passed off as Chicken Parmesan. Could not even maneuver it in the 3 sizes too small plate. Wait staff was nice, and tipped ours (food not his fault), but did overhear one say “if she is rude to me again, I am going to jail”.
Maybe she had already been served her entree?
We can always count on a great meal at Lucca's. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer with pork belly is a must order. Our party of 4 also enjoyed the calamari, the Chicken in pumpkin sauce and rapini, the Seafood Rigatoni and the Tagliatelle Bolognese.
For desert we shared a Limoncello Cheesecake that was wonderful.
Fantastic as always
One of the best places in Pittsburgh
No matter what i choose
Pasta fish beef. Can’t go wrong
Their pasta entrees are phenomenal
Chose the fruiti de mare con rigatoni
My three other guests ; two of whom were never there before, have become culinary converts to this edible gem of a destination
Service is always conducted in a warm and welcoming and efficient manner
The young lady that took care of us is quite an asset to this restaurant
Shout out to Dustin, always friendly and takes the time to say hello
I’ll end this review with the same beginning
Food was delicious. Flatbread appetizer so tasty, had Frutti Di Mare rigatoni for main entree. Waiter recommended a great white wine pairing. Finished off with tiramisu, delicious. Perfect for a date night!
Lucca never disappoints. My daughter loves when we are in town and she gets to dine at Lucca.
An excellent meal! We were warmly welcomed by the staff and adequately socially distanced. The new fall menu is available and that’s what we enjoyed. The red pepper bisque with gouda was silky and delicious. I enjoyed the salmon with pumpkin risotto. The service was fantastic.
Don't miss this Jem in Pgh. Great food with the new Chef/owner. Staff was friendly and prompt but not overbearing. Pretty much a perfect night on the terrace. Thank you Lucca raising the bar in Pgh.
Service was a standout and the team worked together really well. Food was excellent and their seasonal soup - roasted red pepper and smoked Gouda - was unlike anything I’d ever tasted.
I cannot say enough good things about Lucca's new Fall menu and outstanding new chef!!!! We went twice in one week, it that was good!!! The salmon is out of this world, as is the eggplant parmigiana and the scallops. We can't wait to go back and try another new entree!!
P.S. They make THE best Long Island Iced Tea with sprite instead of pepsi( my preference) and some Lemoncello- divine!!!!
Service was poor. Server did not tell us of specials, brought wrong drink, and ignored us after our entrees arrived.
Love it. Will be back...often
Especially the vegetarian menu
Had a wonderful experience at Lucca. Food and service was fantastic!
We arrived and were seated rather promptly for our reservation. The hostess was kind enough to take some pictures for us, as we had just been engaged that day. The server arrived and never introduced himself or told us anything about the menu. He brought us an incorrect appetizer and never really checked up on us. Our drinks sat empty for at least 10 min. We were willing to look beyond the terrible service for some good food...but alas were disappointed again. The food was mediocre at best. The only stellar dish was the Brussel sprouts. The pasta was dry and bland. The chicken and the steak were overcooked and really just very disappointing experience the whole way along. The bill was 170 dollars or so and I definitely feel their are other and better ways to spend some money. The ambiance was nice and the staff seemed friendly enough...just not our server.
I’d say it was a very underwhelming experience.
Lucca was a wonderful experience. Very authentic and beautiful restaurant.
Another wonderful dinner
Second Friday in a row we dropped in
The atmosphere is quite cozy
The outdoor patio is splendid, overlooking a marvelous tree lined quiet street, beautiful
We started off with the Brussels sprouts
The black garlic truffle aioli was exquisite that accompanied it,perfect
If you don’t enjoy Brussels sprouts, try this dish
You will be a diehard fanatic after tasting these
We both ordered the frutti di mar con rigatoni
Loaded with shrimp,crab,and scallops
Pasta cooked to perfection
The rose sauce similar to a vodka sauce was well seasoned and delicious
Service was well attended and friendly but not overbearing
A must go place
A gastronomic refuge from the same old cookie cutter local restaurant scenes
Wonderful food, great staff! Loved the patio!
Lucca Ristorante is excellent for dinner -- and, I'm sure, for lunch too. It’s well known to those who live in Oakland. For those of us from other areas visiting Oakland, it's easy to drive past it on the way to the Carnegie Museums, BUT it's truly worth a visit for their very fine Italian cuisine.
Once you make your first visit to Lucca, I know you'll keep returning. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is very, very good. Find Lucca soon, and enjoy Lucca every visit!
Phenomenal dining experience! Every bite was extraordinary and every interaction with staff meaningful! It was a perfect way to celebrate our 44th anniversary and to dine out for the first time since COVID restrictions. Efforts by Lucca Ristorante for every recipe, every point of service, and every celebration with us makes this beautiful evening unforgettable!!
Nice outside dinner
Went to Lucca with an outdoor reservation. They first wanted to seat us in direct sunlight. I asked if we could take a different table in the shade and the waiter said that table was reserved and that the sun would be down in 30 minutes (it was over 2.5 hours till sunset). Then he goes inside and returns to tell us we can have the table in the shade. Everything after that was going fine, the dinner was good, waiter seemed attentive. After dinner though, he never came back. We sat for over 30 minutes, after we'd finished our food, on a 90 degree day on that porch, which has no airflow. Table was never bused, out of wine, out of water, no waiter in sight. I finally went inside the restaurant to ask a different server for the check because we couldn't take sitting there in the heat any longer. Our waiter comes out and gets snippy with me and says, "we have a relaxed atmosphere here and don't rush people." Sorry, that doesn't excuse you from not coming over to check on us, bus the table and bring water on an extremely hot day. Then he drops the check on the table and rudely tells me they took one glass of wine off for our trouble. I still tipped him 20%, but frankly he should've gotten 0. There were only two other tables of diners outside, both of which were being taken care of by other wait staff, and only one table of diners inside, so like, where was this guy?
The sad part is, the food was excellent. But the lack of attentiveness by the waiter ruined the experience.
I have been wanting to go to Lucca’s for a while because I heard some good things and it just looked like a nice place to eat. When we arrived they barely acknowledged us. When the server decided to seat us he said, “Sorry about the mess” but never cleaned up the table or chairs around us. There was no silverware or glasses on our table and crumbs in the table. We let it go until they never brought us over our utensils or table placements. It wasn’t busy especially because of COVID and it was later in the evening, around 8. We left without being waited on.
Very pleased! We went here for dinner (6:30pm) after moving our daughter into her dorm at U of Pitt. Food was very good. The appetizers were tasty though I wish they were bigger in portion. However they made up for this with the generous sizes of our main meals. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The Beef Risotto and Bolognese were so good. Our children really liked their chicken alfredo and chicken parm and filet. Good coffee, tiramisu and the limoncello cheese cake ended the evening nicely. Would recommend and will likely return.
Great place to enjoy a meal in the city. Food was excellent. The service was very friendly, but a bit clumsy. Nothing would keep me from going back.
Food and service was excellent!
Nice outdoor patio, great food, and excellent service.
Birthday. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable and polite. Recommended perfect Italian wine to pair with my chicken parmigiana. Wore his mask properly covering mouth and nose.
Very average. Priced too high for quality provided. Pleasant staff .
First time at Lucca's and we will definitely be back! Great food and atmosphere. Absolutely recommend.
Fabulous food and service.
The rigatoni was delicious. Wish they'd had the gnocchi.
My boyfriend and I were extremely satisfied with the service, the food and the ambiance. I attended CMU and I've walked past the restaurant many times and finally we stepped in and sat outside for a beautiful date night. We are recommending this restaurant to all our friends and family. The entrees we had were unique and flavorful - best filet mignon and cannoli (chocolate cherry) in the Pittsburgh area!
The menu was full of old favorites and new choices. Our waiter was friendly and competent. The wine was good and the meal was delicious. To add to all of this we received an early bird discount. We will return with friends.
This is one the great neighborhood restaurants. Casual but elegant and you can't beat the food and service.
Delicious meal with outdoor dining. The early dining discount of 20% made the visit worthwhile - Otherwise we would not have ordered what we did (appetizer, two entrees, dessert, wine, and beer) due to the price.
