The food was well prepared , well presented and delicious. the portions were plentiful. The price was reasonable and the service was prompt, courteous and helpful. We sat outside on the covered terrace and enjoyed the evening breeze. While the choice of music was perfect, the volume was a little too loud, making it difficult to carryon a conversation. However, after mentioning it to our server, it was turned down to a reasonable level.

Our server Dustin was outstanding!! The food was fresh and very tasty. The restaurant is a shining diamond in a sea of lower quality quick services. Please be sure to make a reservation for dinner service and please don’t be in a hurry, good food takes time.

This was the perfect date night with my Fiancé! The wait staff could not have been nicer. We sat on the patio and had a beautiful view of the Cathedral of Learning. All the food was excellent, but I was particularly blown away by the beef short rib. I’m sad I didn’t find this place sooner!

I don’t know what to say but our dinner on Saturday night was just pretty mediocre on all levels. First and foremost the service is- well I want to say abominable- but the wait staff are running around frantically trying to get food to the many waiting tables and this frenetic activity makes the experience super stressful. Once again we had the waitress who feels the need to “ tell you how it’s supposed to be “ - really? Yeah I don’t think so. The pasta was terribly undercooked to the point of being inedible. We were once again informed of what must have been OUR mistake as she told us that the owner, who made it, said he tasted it and it was fine…but took it off the bill. And as per usual on a busy night the drinks take forever, the bread takes forever, the salad takes forever and the wait for the entree is interminable. Again I don’t know what to say but from what I’ve heard through the grapevine, we will be forever banned because of this negative review. Maybe we’re weird but when we go out we are hoping to have a relaxing enjoyable evening with decent food and good service.

Our waitress was very nice but the food and drink were terrible. I started with a glass of red sangria which tasted like a glass of sugary syrup with cherries in it, more like an overpowering Shirley temple. I sent it back to try the white sangria which was also too sweet. Apparently they add simple syrup to their sangria but all it tasted like was pure sugar. The $9 house salad appetizer was drowning in vinaigrette dressing. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan for my entree. The noodles were over cooked mush and the eggplant was so chewy I could barely cut it into pieces. My boyfriend and I were both disappointed at paying $100 total for a very bad anniversary meal.

Mother’s Day Dinner. Food was great. Service was great. No complaints. Definitely recommend a reservation opposed to showing up. First time and you could tell there’s an older audience that shows a loyal following. So get a reservation! Braised short rib risotto, highly recommended! Chicken Alfredo, classic dish and also recommended!

Last time I came the food was amazing. Not sure if they switch the chef or not but I got really dry pasta and all of our food was unseasoned. Our waiter is what made our night, overall The drinks and dessert was great but I came here for a graduation dinner and it just wasn’t good at all.

Where to begin? The chairs were extremely worn and uncomfortable. We tried the crostini and the bread was stale and not toasted. The scallops in our Capesante were undercooked and slimy, and were presented with a pile of wilted Arugula on top. Equally unimpressive was the bland taste of the Bolognese on the Taliatelle. However what pushed me over the edge and inspired this review was how 4 young asians were turned away at 3:50, when there were plenty of tables and people being served, with the justification that they cannot seat guests between 3 & 4pm. When at 4:03 another couple arrived, without a reservation and was seated promptly. That 12min, cost Lucca both the business of those 4 fellows and my own in the future as well. They are serving equal parts lackluckster and clueless all wrapped in a dated and worn down setting!

We have been here a few times .. the staff is very friendly and welcoming, but seems somewhat disorganized. This was graduation weekend so definitely a busier and more stressful night. The food was good, the drinks were creative, the desserts were delicious. It really is a nice place to go for Italian food and friendly service in the area :)

Made a reservation here when looking for a place to eat after an event from my daughter which we wanted to celebrate. Was very surprised by the quality of food and how well everything was put together. For not knowing anything about this restaurant I would definitely recommend it and look forward to coming again if I’m ever in the area.

We were in from Chicago looking at University of Pittsburgh with our daughter. Looking to eat some good Italian cuisine relatively close to where we were staying down on Forbes. We decided to try the restaurant after looking at the menu and reading some online reviews. We were not disappointed. We had a fantastic server name Lexie, And everything we ordered we enjoyed. The meatballs and the eggplant Parm where stand outs for me. My daughter eats gluten-free pasta and she said her Bolognese was great. Decent wine by the glass selections, Totally would recommend!

My fiancé had the espresso martini, eggplant parmigiana, and loved both. i had the red sangria, gnocchi alfredo, and both were delicious. the gnocchi were right in the middle of being light or dense and heavy. our server was great and friendly. we enjoyed it and would eat here again.

Solid choice, food was ok and service great. Ambiance is excellent. Food really depends on choice - so variability gets it the “ok”. But worth your time and dollars.
