We visited for an anniversary dinner and were delighted. Thank you to Dustin foe the great service.
Love this restaurant!!!!
We both enjoyed the house salads and then one of us had the salmon and the other had the rigatoni. Everything was delicious!!! Will be going back soon.
Our bookclub group had diner before the Monday evening lecture series at CMU. The restaurant was very crowded and it took forever to get our check. We were rushed getting to the program on time. Made the evening more stressful than it had to be and therefore less enjoyable. Would choose another restaurant next time for our group outing.
The food was great! A new fall menu. Great place for a celebration.
The desserts were the best part (the gelato and bread pudding were good). The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The gnocchi was dry and Caesar salad was boring.
Lucca was just ok. I don’t believe our dining experience correlated with the higher price. The service was very slow during a Sunday evening with half the restaurant unoccupied. My wife and I waited for about an hour from the time of ordering for our dinner to arrive at our table. It seems like those around us had a similar experience. The food was good, but not spectacular either. We’ve had better Italian food at other restaurants for half the cost. It was just a very average to below average dining experience for us overall.
My daughter goes to school @ Pitt. Whenever we are are in town visiting this is our favorite place to go. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced
It was my first time and I really liked it. We dined on the patio on a nice day. We were seated privately which I appreciated, but it was not empty. Our service was just ok, but the food was very good. Nice appetizer selection and everyone enjoyed their entree. I wouldn’t clear the calendar, but it’s a quality option at a fair price. I will return.
The food was ok, expensive for what you got. Service was very good, The atmosphere is nice could use a little upgrade. Can’t compare to Hoffstots and Chelsea’s in Oakmont
Great food and service.
Great experience again. We visit Lucca’s a few times a year and have enjoyed every visit! The food is delicious and the service exceptional. Jordan, our waiter, was professional and welcoming again this year. Great job!
Amazing food! Best fish dish. The desserts looked amazing but no room this time.
It was great
Hit and miss. Parts of each dish were good. Ambiance was fine but there are probably better Italian restaurants out there.
Great place for lunch. Not too many choices but the food is delicious. Overall, I had a very good experience at this restaurant; I would recommend it.
I had the chicken Marsala & the chef prepared it for me gluten-free. It was delicious. Service was great & the patio is a great place to sit.
Outstanding food, a great location, and Chris the server was a great ambassador for the restaurant.
The food was delicious and the service impeccable, thanks to our server Julius.
Food and service has improved significantly since new ownership. It's a work in progress with incorporation of new menu items and an excellent cocktail menu. We enjoyed a very lovely evening on the patio.
Food was acceptable, but service was horrible. The drink order was wrong, the appetizer took 20 minutes (it was meat and cheese) and the mains took an hour and 35 minutes. The pasta was warm, but not hot. The scallops were cooked perfectly. No apology for the delay or complete lack of attention to our table.
Around this area there are better options.
Have been to Lucca about 5 times this year and it is getting progressively worse. Service is usually good and we love the outdoor patio but the food quality to going down hill. Crab is no longer on the menu and this last visit I have one of my worst meals ever in a sit down restaurant. It was an overly complex dish that was not well executed and did not work on many levels
This is the 3rd business meeting in a row at Lucca where food was forgotten and service was poor.
I used to eat at Lucca almost every week for business meetings, but feel like service has gone downhill significantly over the last couple of months...and am reluctant to bring clients here.
Very nice dinner. The food was amazing but the service was a little off.
lovely pre-event dining experience with 4 other people.
The only snafu was that the table side checkout produced the wrong check for me.
But I didn't discover it until I was home.
Took forever for the food to be served. It was luke warm at best. But waited so long, wasn’t time to send it back. Only a “sorry” when we brought this to the restaurants attention.
Great service our waitress was pleasant and efficient.
Reservation for the patio. It was a lovely night, wine list was very good with affordable options. Service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The mussels in particular were perfectly prepared.
Waited forever to be served. Had to ask what the specials were and for the wine list neither was offered. Then finally food came and my pasta was so hard it was almost crunchy was so underdone. I called over waitress and she seemed bothered - asked if I wanted to wait for them to redo the meal or would I just like more sauce - like that was going to cook the pasta more. They did remove this meal and my wife’s salad that was soggy and drowned in dressing from meal but I would never go back here again. A shame because three years ago we had a wonderful meal here on their outdoor patio - which by the way we asked to be seated at because we saw open tables out there was told they were reserved even though no one ever sat there our entire meal.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service
Was recommended to Lucca. Service was pleasant. Ordered risotto with mushrooms and shrimp. Shrimp was delicious. Risotto was a bit thick, over-seasoned with too much salt and pepper. And I generally like salt and pepper. Fried Calamari appetizer had a nice sauce but distracting breading that was barely digestible. Ordered a Bloody Mary but they were out of tomato juice. The jazz music was terrific! Wish it had played longer. The music was worth the visit.
The bread was outstanding as was the service. Food took a little while to reach us from the kitchen but was worth the wait. Four of us had different items and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Pasta was a little too al-dente for my tastes but prepared properly (I just like mine a tad softer).
An eclectic menu of tasty entrees, nice wine selection, attentive and courteous service and attractive, reduced price weekday 3 course early dinner options !
Waiter never asked if we wanted drinks. He never brought bread waited an hour to get our appetizers and another hour for dinner. Basically 2 hours to get food so we asked for check before food even arrived inhaled our meal which was sub par. Kids Alfredo Came out cold and husband's rib eye was rare instead of medium rare. We won't be returning.
I was expecting a lot more from the food. After we ordered our food, our waiter told us they ran out of bread. Bruschetta appetizer was fair. My chicken marsala was not good. Piece of chicken was tiny and covered in a ton of mushrooms and onions??? Sauce did not have a lot of taste. The side of carrots were completely raw. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs was fine and the mussels appetizer that my son got for an entree were good but we had to keep begging for any kind of bread to dip in the sauce.
I have been here multiple times, and always have great service and outstanding food. I rated the ambiance and noise lower than normal because it was college move in time, and was seated next to a large group. Fist time for that, so expect it is not the norm. I try to come here every time I am in this area, so I highly recommend Lucca's for great Italian food.
This was our first time at Lucca as a family, but I have been there multiple times previously for business meals. I enjoyed my meal but service was average and the food was below par for my family.
Although we were greeted and seated with a big smile, our waiter was quiet, offered no pleasantries not even his name, and served our meals indifferently. To his credit, he did refill our water glasses without asking.
Our Brussel sprouts appetizer was tasty, although the kitchen exhausted its supply of calamari before our arrival (6:15 pm). My seared scallops were prepared perfectly and I enjoyed every bite! The pasta Bolognese tasted average to my wife and I agreed with her assessment. Our daughters were thoroughly unimpressed. One ordered short ribs over risotto. The ribs were fine, but the risotto was so salty, it was inedible (I tasted her meal too). The quickly replaced her meal with a better dish. The other ordered a pasta Alfredo. It arrived looking like buttered noodles, so she picked. I didn’t feel the need to test her palate.
My Negroni tasted as it should and our bottle of wine was good. The restaurant appeared to have a lively party in the back room and there was a large table finishing their meal when we arrived. Perhaps it was bad timing for a Thursday evening. The outdoor tables were mostly filled, so the restaurant continues to draw a crowd. The foursome next to us appeared equally to be wanting for a better experience.
Amazing as always- we always know we will be getting great service and great food.
The Terrace is the place to be. We had a large and noisy party nearby, but we were warned. The food was excellent and the service thoughtful and cordial.
Meetball was cold.
Mussels smell bad, taste mediocre.
Risotto was too salty.
Salmon was good.
Calamari was crispy.
