Excellent sea bass special. Mussels are GREAT. Service top notch. Couldn’t have been more pleased
Had a wonderful evening and service was amazing and the food was outstanding
My boyfriend and I went here for a date. We were seated at a very small table squeezed next to a wall and 2 parties. The wall had windows facing the seating outside which was crowded too. We could bailey fit everything on our small table. It was quite noisy with it being so crowded and packed so tightly together. Other than that our waitress was very nice, understanding, and attentive. There was a miscommunication with my order (my fault) so the waitress gave us a free dessert which was really good(blueberry cheesecake). Since we checked in online we also got a free appetizer which was quite tasty( zucchini chips). Besides the noise and the tight space I do recommend going. Maybe for a party or celebration instead of a date. The food is great and presented well and the service is amazing. I will be coming here again!
Great spot for a bite before a show. Unfortunately my first filet was over cooked. I sent back and got a tough piece of correctly cooked filet, bummer as I was really looking forward to a nice steak. Don’t think I’d rush back anytime soon.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Lucca Saturday night..... we had eaten there a couple of times previously, but it had been several years since our last visit. The food was terrific - particularly notable were the pork chops, which were beyond delicious, possibly the best chops I've ever had. Service was good - aside from a slightly longer-than-anticipated gap between the starter and main courses, everything was as we'd expect. We sat outside on a night that was probably about 60 degrees, but with the heaters and a nearby fireplace, the temperature was very comfortable. We will definitely be back, much sooner than several years from now!
The food was delicious and the menu has variety. Server was knowledgable about the menu and the wines. first time there and we were impressed. have been telling our friends about it. It's really convenient if you're going to a show at the theater at the convention center.
Meal was fine and cooked / prepared well.. Service was good, they seated us quickly.
We had the pork chop and the duck confit. The pork chop was ordered medium but came more well-done. We had dined here before a show so that was something we could overlook. The pork chop was done really well and was very flavorful. I was really disappointed with the duck confit. The duck itself was succulent and moist and was done perfectly. It came with lentils and boiled cabbage and carrots. It didn't go well together at all. It had a lot of potential but didn't meet expectations. I would not order it again. Knowing there was a show, the staff handled everything really well. They were quick to take our order, warn us about the potential wait, and gave us our check right away.
We had a pleasant business lunch and were seated at a booth where we could converse without raising our voices. The entrees here are delicious and crafted from fresh, local, high-quality ingredients.
Noise level is usually super noisy. However, if you sit on the patio, as we did, it is quite reasonable. Glass doors between the restaurant bar and front portion separate it from the patio. On a rainy chilly night the patio fireplace is a nice edition. Food here is always really good.
I found Luccas very enjoyable. Our appetizers of zucchini chips and blistered snap peas started off our dinner, both were amazing and would go back just for a good wine and these appetizers. It was hard to make a dinner selection as we all wanted to try everything. What we did select was prepared perfectly.
Really enjoyed the dinner and wine here before heading to Book of Mormon. Fairly crowded, but our server handled everything flawlessly. Entrees were very tasty, wine was very nice, and we got just the right amount of attention. I had the Sea Bass special, probably the best I've had this year, wife had and enjoyed her Cioppino tremendously. Definitely will return and enjoy Lucca again.
We went to Lucca's prior to going to the theatre. As always we had a wonderful meal!
Service was horrid. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks which was delivered by the hostess. Server didn’t come back to take out food order for another 15 minutes. Brought out the wrong appetizer after 20 more minutes and had to wait 15 minutes for the correct appetizer. Then the waiting game for our actual dinner occurred. Very disappointed in the service. Felt like we were left in the corner and forgotten about.
Went here for our anniversary dinner and it was fabulous! The pork chop was juicy and had a wonderful flavor the prawns and linguine were equally as good! We also had dessert the lemon olive oil cake was moist with a lemon sauce and strawberries. We will definitely be back!
Nice and comfortable. Friendly waiters. Food very good.
Very loud inside and wicker chairs total take away from the feel inside the restaurant. Wobbly table and poor lighting options don’t help either. Appetizers were ok, but my $34 new york steak was like chewing on a piece of tire, way over cooked. Wife also was very dissatisfied with her salmon. paid $150 for a meal that was worth about $80, never going back. Also a very weak beerand wine menu.
The food and service was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Shared the skillet mussels, snap peas and calamari for appetizers, had swordfish (daily special), filet (daily meat), spaghetti and meatballs: all wonderful. Finished with 3 desserts (bananas with crisp phyllo was amazing). Began with cocktails, paired dinner with wine and ended with Sambuca. Service was friendly and attentive. One of my guests kept asking her for suggestions and I felt like she was being very careful not to offend and sounded disingenuous about her feedback. Otherwise she was awesome. Nice atmosphere...a little bright for such a nice dinner.
Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Volume was loud. On a Sunday night you'd expect it to be quieter, but nope. The restaurant advertises the app Thanx which I had used before and it gave me a free appetizer. I showed the app to the wait staff and the item wasn't taken off. So I was disappointed by that. Definitely double check your bill to be sure they take off any items from special offers.
I was very pleased with every choice I made off the menu. The calamari was super yummy, the snap pea dish was awesome, my wife's cioppino was really good and the cod special I had was great. I took home the Chevre cheese cake and was very impressed with the flavors as well.
Great food and service!!! Had a nice laid back dinner. No rush. Excellent wine list. Our server , Micah, was perfect!!!
Food and cocktails were excellent! Service was okay for a busy night. Service was very nice just busy (can’t fault her for that).
We love everything about Luca! Will definitely be back
Such a wonderful place for dinner! Dominic took such good care of us and the food was excellent. We consider this the best Sacramento restaurant and keep coming back when we are in town
Our waitress was extremely helpful and chipper. We ordered the fried Brussels sprouts and the zucchini chips as an appetizer - they were both amazingly delicious. As an entree, I couldn’t resist getting the gnocchi, and I was not disappointed. My husband had the burger and our friends had pasta dishes. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and the caramelized bananas, which both exceeded my expectations.
We will definitely be coming back soon!
Beautiful surroundings. Very crowded at 6:30 for a pre-theater dinner, but surprisingly not noisy. The food was delicious. Our server gave good advice on which dish to order. Only negative was due to several large parties, service was a little slow and I didn't have time to order dessert.
Both of our entrees were under $20 -- a rare find these days.
I will definitely go ack.
Service was unsatisfactory. We waited at least 10 minutes to be given water. Our bottle of wine was not opened until then, either. Maybe they were understaffed.
I had to ask the waiter what the special was. He was apologetic even though he knew— because I told him — that we needed water. The food was so-so. We don’t plan to go back.
Sammy our waiter was great , would ask for him to be our waiter again 👍
Great meal for all. Appetizers outstanding with not a taste left of the Zucchini chips, roasted Brussel sprouts, of marinated olives. The vegan dinner was healthy and excellent. Steak salad outstanding. Shrimp linguini consumed with hmmmm. Beef and mushroom with farfadel pasta was eaten with gusto. Chicken risotto again was on point and was expressed yummy. Beer and wine offerings were awesome and flavorful. Dessert was tasted by all but we did not have much room and said we have to return soon.
Great place for a date. Good food and ambiance without being too expensive.
A favourite of mine and my beloved. We come here once a season and with each experience we like this restaurant more!
Been going to Lucca for many years and there are very few surprises. The menu and food quality are consistent and the service, although not 5 star is always casual and professional.
We look forward to returning in the future.
Waiter forgot about us in the very beginning. They were more concerned with setting up for the huge table next to us. One of our chairs was broken. Food was good. They apologized for the bad service in the beginning and offered us a free dessert. We are all on a keto diet however so politely declined. Nice restaurant.
Excellent service, chef must be amazong the Salmon beet salad was incredible and the chicken mushroom risotto was to die for. We will be back, and soon!
Food was great! Staff were warm and helpful. Couldn't figure out why there was a painting of a large blue goose in the room. But it did not detract from my excellent dining experience!
Server was very good he was able to keep up with a busy night. Being valentines day the place seemed to have crammed extra tables into the bar area. This made for a loud environment. The food was ok I would like to try the regular menu. The cocktails were good and the wine list adequate.
The food and the whole experience was great. Had to wait a little bit for the table and also for the food but it was valentines day so it was understandable. Would recommend it to others
First time but won't be the last. Great atmosphere, meals were delicious. We recommend the salmon and the pork chop. But start with the avocado/crab toast and finish with the banana and custard dessert!
Exterior seating is simply too cold in winter in Sacramento. Service pretty inattentive. The salad was chopped iceberg? does anybody still use iceberg? And the fish was okay but $29. Although we've dined here before, and probably will again, it was a disappointment. Lunch is better.
