Pre-marathon dinner at Lucca was yummy! A fresh, seasonal salad with a beautifully light citrus dressing, good-sized pasta portions for pre-race dining with no leftovers. We had the rigatoni with wild boar ragout and homemade ravioli - each dish had unique flavors and elements that made them special and delish. Great night aside from spotty service - wine came after the salad, pepper grinder came for the dinner but not the salad.
Had dinner before the 2018 Boston Marathon. Was looking for delicious pasta and Lucca didn’t disappoint. The parpadelle with meat ragú was amazing. The seafood pasta was also outstanding. Would definitely go back.
Food was delicious!
The food and menu selection was not as good as we were expecting based on the reviews we had seen.
We originally booked a reservation for 4 and then the staff was able to accommodate our request to increase to 5...much appreciated! Food was delish, great vibe, staff was friendly and fun. Overall, great experience.
We have visited Lucca many times over the years, recommended it to business associates, friends and relatives, and we have NEVER been disappointed. Recent visit with guests from California (one of whom was vegetarian) was a hit: warm welcome, terrific service, and everything on the table was delicious. Still thinking about my veal chop!
Very attentive service. Food was excellent. I could live on the meatballs alone.
Delicious lamb and great wine selection!
Great before the Bruins!
Great food service ambiance. Manager is an awesome guy
Fined at Lucca with my friend prior to a show at TD Garden. The person who seated us asked if we were going to the show, which was wise in terms of timing. The dining room was busy but we were seated right away and the wait staff brought some great focaccia bread, water and menus promptly. They were right on top of their game, even on an unusually busy Monday. We split an app of beets and walnuts which was beautifully presented and very nice. Our main courses were salmon and boldness - both excellent. The fish was very fresh and the pasta was hearty but a little spicy, which surprised me. I don’t really like it when the classic dishes get messed with, but even with the spicy kick, the dish was very good. The meal was expensive so I’m not sure I’d choose Lucca for a preconceptions meal again, but would absolutely visit again for a date night with my honey. I recommend Lucca. Very, very nice meal!
Great! Service was excellent , food awesome and you must try the garlic bread and lamp chops!
Good I'm lengthening my review bec
Food was fantastic. Service was spot on and attentive. Made my Mom feel very special on her 60th birthday!!
We love sitting at the tables for 2 in the bar area. Fun to look outside, and to be in the ‘happening’ part of the restaurant. Always a good time
Lucca is a great Italian dinner in the crowded with Italian Restaurants North End of Boston. The menu is not large, but, everything was great. The Short Rib Appetizer is fantastic and very rustic. The Rigatoni with Boar was the very savory. Strong wine list and by the glass. This is a good spot and worth a go if you don't have knowledge of the area, you won't be unhappy with this choice.
Lively but acoustics suck !!
Seated in blah downstairs. Pasta sauce overly heavy. Desserts nothing special. Service was nicely attentive.
Simply stated, awesome! All three in our party absolutely loved the apps, entrees and wine. One of the best we've had in the north end and we eat out there frequently.
The food was good, BUT there was an proposal party seated in front of the window. They were beyond noisy. The parents and waiter apologized, but shame on the restaurant for not seating them in a private room or area away from other patrons. I understand a "lively" atmosphere, but when you can't converse with your family because of the noise it's downright annoying. I wasn't expecting a bar-like atmosphere for an Italian dinner that was not inexpensive.
Delicious food...inpatient and hurried waitstaff. Very loud, but it’s a big city. Had hard time hearing associate across the table from me. Very cramped seating...
Dennis was amazing, food was a bit salty. Beet Ap was the best app ever. I would come back but would order the Salmon, best meal at the table.
I try to come to Lucca on every trip to Boston. Classic North End, professional service, delicious and authentic...
the service was fantastic and each item that we ordered was fantastic.
Great food and strong service levels. Waiter provided great advice. Was not blown away by the quality of the food. Great wine choices. Good experience overal
Food was good, but not sure it was 40$ a plate good , service was very good
Delicious Italian in little Italy on the north end of Boston. The rigatoni was delicious, as well as the duck tartlet. Osso Bucco served over vinegary white beans a delicious different take on a classic.
The food was wonderful and the waitstaff friendly and helpful; it was the first night of the Boston Eats event and their chices for the prix fixe menu gave variety and quality
Our party of 4 had one winner meal in the group - the salmon . Short ribs with gnocchi was so so, nothing great. Both pasta dishes were over salted. The scallops, at $39 plus $14 for an extra 2 scallops (for a total of 5) was terrible. Por quality scallops, over cooked. Should have been a $20 or so dish. Without drinks this was over $200 - SO NOT WORTH IT.
On the plus side, the atmosphere was nice.
Nice evening. Our server seemed a bit preoccupied.
Nice dinner, friendly staff, quiet atmosphere. A great date nite location. Calamari appetizer was tender and a bit spicy, complemented with a crisp Pinot Bianca. Fresh linguini with shrimp and mussels and a well-crafted salmon with lentils. Portions adequate and left room for dessert.
Awesome Place I’m going back
Great food and service! The ambiance was quint and intermit.
I love the North End, but have never been here. It was AMAZING though. Awesome service and on top of that amazing food.
Great valet parking for busy north end of Boston. Beet salad Cesar salad and mussels great tasty fresh appetizers. Pasta was fresh not crazy about the sauces. Lobster sauce too rich.
FABULOUS!!! Bar none, food was superb. Lovely Gem in the heart of it all. Put it on your favorites list.Manager?possibly owner was extremely personable and welcoming. Truly appreciates the business.
Outstanding service. Food was awesome.
Overall it was very good. Service was just OK but it may have been a little busier than they expected for a Monday night and the Celtics were playing so there were a number of folks eating there and then heading to the game. It is fairly expensive ($39 for the scallops) but the portion were generous and the food was very good. Highly recommend the short rib gnocchi appetizer. That was excellent.
The quality of the food is outstanding, and ample portions are served.
We were seated in the side room, preferable to us, as there is no TV, and the atmosphere is cosy but vibrant.
The only remark we have is that the waitress did not ask to cork the remainder of the wine so we could bring this with us.
