Lucca North End Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I along with another couple enjoyed an excellent dinner here! We ordered the special local swordfish, Georges Bank scallops and two Pappardelle pasta dishes. All were reared professionally and delicious. Our server, Billy, was attentive and engaging. We will be back!
This was a special holiday family dinner. Atmosphere is very, very nice. We were in the room off to the left of the entrance and bar.
Our server was outstanding. Personable. Helpful. Knowledgeable.
We had two appetizers: calamari and prosciutto di parma. (just be aware that the calamari is not fried). Both excellent.
We had two cod specials, the lobster cavatelli, and the pappardelle. All delicious.
Desert was tiramisu and gelato. Also delicious.
Not inexpensive, but appropriate for the quality and experience.
This may have been one of the best meals I have ever had. The mussels we’re amazing, not a huge portion, but the flavor made up for it. The orchiette dish, was to die for. Two of us got that dish and couldn’t stop commenting on how amazing it was! I can’t believe it took me this long to try Lucca, I will definitely be going back!
Food and service were excellent. Our waiter, Billy, was outstanding. He is friendly, attentive without being intrusive, knows the menu well and offered great recommendations. He was very careful and accommodating to dietary restriction of one member of our party. Lucca was a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely go again.
From the moment we walked through the door, until we left,we had an amazing time. The lovely greeter who took our coats, to the professional & friendly waitstaff everyone gave us exceptional service. Our meals were delicious (filet mignon for my husband, salmon for myself) and cooked to perfection. Our waiter Billy was wonderful & we cannot wait to go back! !
I called ahead to warn that I would be arriving late and the staff was very kind and assured my table would be held for me. When we got there, they took our coats and (with a little confusion of seating) we were seated. The bread was great, the sautéed calamari was a delicious appetizer, and our meals were great. Everyone was kind and courteous, I will definitely visit again!
This was my third visit and I’ll be back again for sure! Food and service were outstanding. Sea scallops with chestnut and bacon risotto were out of this world! Didn’t take a picture of our appetizer because we ate it so quickly. Definitely try the prosciutto with burrata, red wine marinated figs, and rosemary honey!
Solid North End option for general Italian-American food. My fiancee had the Baked Orecchiette which was excellent. I was brought the wrong dish originally (miscommunication with the waiter, not his fault) and when the correct order (Salmon) arrived it was seriously under-cooked. They did get the order right in the end (and it was good) and comp'ed my meal but I was a bit disappointed due to the wait and mis-timing with the other meal.
I was in Boston for a wedding and sought out a North End dining experience. Lucca was recommended by hotel concierge and was easy to get a same day reservation. The service and food was simply outstanding. Had the parpadelle pasta, beet salad and Brussels sprouts which were all amazing. Also the waiter pointed us to a wonderful super Tuscan red wine that was reasonably priced. Would definitely go back!!!
Delicious! Especially the gnocchi appetizer. Wine was great. They have a kids menu which was great. We had a little mishap where we ordered an adult version of the cheese ravioli for a teenager and they gave us the kids version (same portion) in a larger plate. It was a little sneaky but quickly resolved once we told our waiter. One suggestion would be to have more variety in the fresh bread. Focaccia was good but a little more variety would be best at such an upscale restaurant. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend Luca.
Food was good, although not the best in the No End. Pork was moist and tender and beans were creamy. Server was very good, although host was rude when my companion was looking for a restroom (only 1?). Our server directed her to a private room and the host rudely sent her away.
The food was fantastic!! We are of Italian descent, so we are fairly critical of Italian restaurants. The dress was smart casual, atmosphere was lively. They have an extensive wine menu. They also offered a kids menu, which worked perfectly for my 8 & 10 year old girls. Highly recommend for families looking for an upscale meal with their picky kids.
