Our party of 4 had one winner meal in the group - the salmon . Short ribs with gnocchi was so so, nothing great. Both pasta dishes were over salted. The scallops, at $39 plus $14 for an extra 2 scallops (for a total of 5) was terrible. Por quality scallops, over cooked. Should have been a $20 or so dish. Without drinks this was over $200 - SO NOT WORTH IT.
On the plus side, the atmosphere was nice.
Nice evening. Our server seemed a bit preoccupied.
Nice dinner, friendly staff, quiet atmosphere. A great date nite location. Calamari appetizer was tender and a bit spicy, complemented with a crisp Pinot Bianca. Fresh linguini with shrimp and mussels and a well-crafted salmon with lentils. Portions adequate and left room for dessert.
Awesome Place I’m going back
Great food and service! The ambiance was quint and intermit.
I love the North End, but have never been here. It was AMAZING though. Awesome service and on top of that amazing food.
Great valet parking for busy north end of Boston. Beet salad Cesar salad and mussels great tasty fresh appetizers. Pasta was fresh not crazy about the sauces. Lobster sauce too rich.
FABULOUS!!! Bar none, food was superb. Lovely Gem in the heart of it all. Put it on your favorites list.Manager?possibly owner was extremely personable and welcoming. Truly appreciates the business.
Outstanding service. Food was awesome.
Overall it was very good. Service was just OK but it may have been a little busier than they expected for a Monday night and the Celtics were playing so there were a number of folks eating there and then heading to the game. It is fairly expensive ($39 for the scallops) but the portion were generous and the food was very good. Highly recommend the short rib gnocchi appetizer. That was excellent.
The quality of the food is outstanding, and ample portions are served.
We were seated in the side room, preferable to us, as there is no TV, and the atmosphere is cosy but vibrant.
The only remark we have is that the waitress did not ask to cork the remainder of the wine so we could bring this with us.
We had a big group and they accommodated us so well and put us at a table where we were able to all converse and no one felt cut off. The food was delicious and our server was knowledgeable and able to make informed recommendations on food and wine. 10/10 would recommend!
Excellent food, great staff, wonderful location and an upscale ambiance. I little on the pricey side, but excellent for dates.
Checked this out this week while visiting Boston - what a great find! I read about it on Yelp after it was recommended by a business associate. Several things I liked about this place. First, nice greeting by the host who immediately asked me if he could take or coats - a lost art. Second - the place smells great - like good food. The waiter, Craig, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. He also re-seated us b/c we decided to sit at a table in the bar and watch the Olympics.
The gnocchi with the short rib was outstanding as was the duck confit appetizer which was also very well presented and done to perfection. For dinner we had the house made three cheese ravioli. Again, it was fabulous and very rich - thank god for red wine! Small issue, the ravioli was just a little too el dente for me and actually undercooked a bit - but by then we were so full it didn't matter. No room for dessert, but assume they are great based on all the other items we had. Oh, the fresh focaccia brought to the table was delicious as well.
Great find on the north end near our hotel - will definitely be back next time in Boston!
The food was OK, the service was OK, everything was just "OK"
Excellent food and wine selection. Will definitely be returning. The Orecciette is to die for!
we had dinner on sat .staff very friendly.nice cozy place,,great food and service.
We requested a quiet table and were accommodated. The rigatoni was outstanding! I loved the prosciutto appetizer--it was large, delicious, and very filling. Even the crostini were something special. Come prepared to spend at least $100 for a really good bottle of wine--what a selection!
Server too pushy, “you might want to order..with that”. Once is fine; three times comes across as insincere /pushy. Food good but with northend price tag.
Fantastic food. Nice to get a reservation on a Saturday night in the North End. My niece has allergies and was thrilled to see gluten-free pasta options. Delicious. Gracious, attentive staff.
Lovely evening. Attentive service. Delicious meals.
Amazing food. I lived in Italy and the food at Lucca is on par with the food that I had there. It’s so good! The waitstaff is excellent. It’s an expensive meal but worth every penny.
Small menu but a good mix. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and sides. Brussel sprouts were my favorite! $8 for side of bread but worth it. Like a pizza with as much cheese as they put in it.
Terrific spot. Focaccia is nice, as is the accompaniment. Carpaccio and oysters were terrific. . Tasty etc. Nice ambience. While I am fortunate/blessed to be comfortable at all dining price points, i believe the relative price to value of Lucca vs other North End dining spots is high. Not really a complaint..just an observation that there are several other tasty Italian dining spots in the North End that, in my view, offer a somewhat better ‘value’. Having said so, Lucca’s was great. Host was terrific and would clearly go back again.
Thank you for a very nice evening.
My date and I arrived a few minutes early for our reservation because we knew it would be busy and indeed it was. They ran out of a lot of things on their set menu but our server was so helpful in recommending other good choices and gave us a complimentary drink.
Decided to drive here.. on Valentine’s Day.. traffic irritated Us and still. Had about a half hour to 45 min wait for a table .. but let me tell you that I had one of the best nights I’ve had in a long time here. Great service, great drinks and the food? Perfect in my eyes lol I recommend this place for all couples.
Was very unhappy went there for Valentines day they completely over booked themselves ran out of food, had a reservation for 8:45 didnt get seated until about 10:06 and then they ran out of almost everything i was very very upset!!!! My boyfriend(now fiancé) was going yo propose to me there and we had to leave we were so upset, it still ended up happening that night which made a horrible night turn inti an amazing nigh but it could have been better. With all the good reviews of this restaraunt i was definitely disappointed
Amazing valentine’s day meal, great selection and delicious food!
Great menu! Great service!
Went for a birthday celebration, the restaurant was empty with a gourp of guys drinking at the bar. I read good reviews but i was not happy with service (not welcoming and not nice), food (not italian at all, and i am italian born and raised), very weird manager/owner going to tables and asking them to order what he wants. Not a nice vibe, i left after appetizers.
Very good food however out waitress made it sound like one meal came with scallops and the other with meatballs. We were not happy when we were charged for these items in our bill. The way she presented it sounded like the items were included.
Food was amazing.
Friends and family get together
One of our favorite places for fine dinnng in all of Boston!
I recently had dinner with two of my associates who had never been in the North End and they truly enjoyed it!
We reserved a table for 9 for my mom’s 70th Birthday. My parents, sister and her family came in from Maine and we had flown in from Ohio. (We used to live in Boston and knew where we wanted to go for dinner).
We asked to be seated in a quiet area which was accommodated and we were grateful for this as well as for them allowing us to be seated a half hour early.
Unfortunately, our waitress who was very pleasant and patient (5 adults and 4 kids under 11) added one thing to our order we didn’t order (app) and two of the kids’ orders were wrong. She did give us a complimentary dessert for my mother which was very sweet. My suggestion would be to travel around the table while taking orders so you hear what people want and recite them back.
Will go again, for sure, just confused by the service.
Great atmosphere and good food
Excellent food and cozy place, especially on a cold winter’s night!!
Waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu.
Every time I go back to Boston I eat at this restaurant service of fantastic everybody's finally in the food is incredible
