Great food and ambiance. Great North End restaurant.
Great meal and service as always.
Lucca is one of our absolute favorite places in the North End. As residents, we’ve been to almost all the spots and Lucca stands out. The focaccia is amazing and the pesto pistachio butter is even better. You can’t leave without trying the short rib gnocchi appetizer. It is hands down the best thing on the menu. The meatballs are fabulous too. Their desserts aren’t the best but if you’re looking for something sweet try the espresso martini. Lucca is perfect for a date or some late night drinks. It’s one of the only restaurants in the North End still open for food after 10. It’s a limited menu but the restaurant is usually still bumping. Highly recommend!
Loved Luca North End! A high end delicious Italian dinner in a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely back next time we’re in town.
Definitely not authentic Italian!
The sauce is like Mexican salsa on the lobster fra Diablo !
The gnocchi with short ribs was tasty Minus the pound of salt the chef put!
My mom did enjoy the ravioli
But I did not !
Another great night at Lucca. My wife and I were lucky enough to get the window. Spectacular food and great wine list. Btw…if wearing a mask to go to the men’s room is onerous for you, stay home in your barcolounger- don’t hassle the waitstaff. They’ve had their masks on for 8 hours.
Waiter talked us in to the nightly special and then never served us. Appetizers and entrees came out at the same time.
I was by myself so I asked to eat at the bar. The bartender was amazing. My drink was in front of me within 1 minute. The appetizer, rigatoni, sangria, wine and dessert could not have been better. One of my favorites when I am in Boston.
Would not go back. Mediocre bland food that tries too hard. Nice staff, ambience and great service. But Hanover street has better spiced food. Do not order the cheese plate. …. but the bowl of warm olives was a high value tasty appetizer
Couldn't have choosen a better place to have dinner. Food, service and atmosophere were beyond excellent. The staff were so nice to every patron. Very impressive. Will return for sure.
Food and service were both excellent! I will definitely be back.
We made our reservations from our cell phone on the way to Loagan Airport to pick up out of town guests. It was quick and easy. Our table was ready for us when we walked in and before we knew it we had water to drink, menus and our wine was on its way. Our menu selections were the best. There were 4 of us and we ordered three different meals. Each one of us felt our selection was the best, yet really liked the others that we sampled. Our waiter helped us make a delicious red wine selection to go along with our dinners. All in all it was a wonderful dining experience and we look forward to enjoying our next Lucca experience.
Dining while Black... Sadly we were treated like complete outsiders at this restaurant. being that we were minorities.
We’ve dined at the location across from prudential and had a few great experiences. I’m not sure why this location treated us like this. The waitress maybe had pre conceived notions based on our skin tone. Her actions definitely showed us we were not important enough for her to wait on.
We ordered drinks, they were watered down with sour mix .
I ordered the chicken and was told 10 min later they don’t have chicken. My partner ordered the linguine . Once the food arrived his linguine did not match the linguine in the menu , it was warm linguine with red onions and breaded shrimp. Nothing like the description in the menu . So when we asked the waitress about it she said , maybe they ran out of the ingredients and proceeded to take the plate away. She never came back with an update. I thought maybe she went to tell the kitchen to remake the dish. after flagging the waitress down she said oh the kitchen is closed My manager will take it off the bill. . I said why wouldn’t you tell us that instead of having us sitting here looking like idiots. She went and got her manager. The manager was nice and apologized and tried to make it right but it was too late. He said it was a busy Labor Day which is no excuse. So we just wasted a whole dinner outing to leave hungry and upset . Nobody checked on to make sure things were good, the waitress only came over when I flagged her down . Oh she also told me not to get the steak because it’s chewy, when the steak came let’s just say (she wasn’t lying ) .
All in all if you are dining while brown or ethnic beware of the late night treatment here just saying , sadly discrimination in restaurants is a real thing . Just so you know Lucca waitress if we would have received good food and service we would have tipped 20% never judge a book by its cover .
Managed to tag a last minute reservation here through OpenTable. 5 other groups came in right after us - all claiming to be booked at the same time as us. The host(ess) station was clearly not checking as they were logged out of OpenTable - ha! Seated at a window seat for 2 - and that was great! Place was hopping so service was a bit slow - but no issue there. Food and wine here never disappoint. Espresso and Coconut gelato were a great end to the meal. Not cheap - but worth it. Get the Lobster FraDiavolo!!!
Food, drinks, everything was stellar. Service was attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and piping hot. Really great dishes all around.
Our waiter was wonderful. Super friendly and attentive.
First rate service and food! The North End was crazy last night, but we never felt rushed. The host and our waiter were so friendly and accomodating. One of our favorites in the North End!
We ate outside, which unfortunately was disrupted by the constant auto traffic right next to us on the street.
Billy, our waiter, was excellent, and the food was very good. Would definitely go again.
Absolutely Spectacular. Best Tomato Bisque in the world. My Three cheese raviolis were out of this world
We have been to Lucca in the past whilst sailing up to Boston from the Hamptons as we have done this trip, as well. We were eager to come back as the last time was such a fulfilling dining experience.
This time, the food was fabulous—we split a Caesar, a hanger steak and the special sautéed halibut. Our waitperson, Billy, was also the best! Personable, witty, professional, proficient. Just great! The problem that made an ill mark on what would have been a perfect evening was that it was so frigid in the back dining room where we were sat, even with sweaters and wraps, we could not get warm. Billy tried to moderate the temperature but it never became comfortable for us and I hate to say, it put a damper on the evening. Hopefully the next time we are in town and come back to Lucca, we will be in a warmer spot in the restaurant, as I really love this place
and it’s authenticity! Rita, as the most welcoming Maitre D in Boston, makes it fun and special. ThankYou,Lucca!
Our experience was hands down a 10 star review! Absolutely amazing food and service. The ambiance of little Italy is something everyone visiting Boston should experience!
The restaurant was vibrant and noisy. We were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to hear each other at our table but somehow it was not a problem. The waiter, Billy, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. The food was delicious! We ordered the specials-halibut, buccantini, and ravioli. For apps we order the cheesy garlic bread with Pomodoro sauce and the calamari. For dessert we had the flan and flourless chocolate cake. We highly recommend Lucca in the North End!
Great night out with my husband! Food was fantastic as always, service was great! Thank you!
Awesome food and outstanding wine list.
Amazing food and excellent service! A little loud so hard to talk at times, but otherwise awesome.
Phenomenal. Went there for a night out and was blown away by the customer service. The hostess Rita, was welcoming, enthusiastic, personable, and went above and beyond to provide the best experience possible.
10/10 cannot wait to go back.
Our server was excellent and attentive. She was always quick to replace our silverware and refill our water/wine glasses.
Thank you for the special birthday dessert! Everything was perfect.
Excellent food and very generous portions. Nice ambience, classy space
Main course average and disappointing. Aps and service great
Delicious food. Excellent service.
Service was excellent. Wine list was very reasonable and had some good choices. The food was decent, but you can get better in the immediate area for the same price.
Great place —food and everything amazing
Good food in the heart of the classic North End
Never tried this restaurant before. Was very impressed. Great food, excellent service and a good time had by all. Would definitely go again
Very enjoyable dining experience. The staff and management were excellent but the food was outstanding. You shouldn't be disappointed selecting Lucca for your dining plans.
Can’t say enough about Lucca. You must go, if you are in the north end.
Outstanding food, service, decor, wine list, etc etc etc etc.
It is one of the best …
The food and drinks were incredible. We sat by the window. The host and owner came over to ask how our meal was. Amazing!
Family dinner before leaving to go back to Houston.
