I had the Mozzarella Burrata appetizer and the Short Rib Gnocchi appetizer for dinner. The Burrata was soft and delicious and plenty for two to share. The Short Rib gnocchi came in a smaller pasta bowl and it was just the right portion size for dinner for me! The layers of flavor in the Short Rib dish were outstanding!
The dinner portions were enormous and so many people (like us) were heading to a show and couldn’t take it home with them. So glad I ordered the appetizer.
Pasta is mushy and not al dente. No flavor. Limited menu
Service was great. Food was tasty but not hot when served.
Amazing food and service! Would highly recommend
beautifully delivered plates of delicious food; upscale but casual/comfortable atmosphere
Food was just okay
Amazing! Great Date Night!
We had reservations and were seated promptly and courteously. Our jackets were taken and hung up. The staff was very friendly.
Our waiter was prompt and helpful. We ordered a few drinks and oysters for our 1st course. We enjoyed them both. We followed that with a special beef cacciatore and a lobster fettucine. While both the entrees were very nice, we felt the pasta was a little too smothered in sauce - we think less would have been more in the case of the sauces. Otherwise, the portions were quite large and we had to get our entrees to go. We ended our meal with tiramisu which was very soft and light and cappuccinos which were enjoyable as well. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and a nice evening out at the North end after almost 2 years.
Amazing experience and meal!
Rigatoni ragout was phenomenal.
Max was on point with the service.
One of the best North End meals I’ve had so far! Beautiful restaurant, great service, and delicious food. I highly recommend the raviolis :)
The food, service and wine were all excellent. Thanks to George for making it a wonderful night.
Awesome meal and service before. Bruins game. Waiter George was excellent!
The food was ok. Loster bisque tasted fishy and the panna cotta was too stiff and burnt at the bottom. Service was great and it is a really cozy place.
Perfetto in tutto!
Wife and I dined at Lucca for the first time last night. Have dined at many North End restaurants over the past decade, just somehow we never made it over there. We're from Georgia and have visited Boston 9 of the past 11 years in the Fall.
(Bostonians wear T-shirts that say "Boston Strong", but our T-shirts say "Boston Soon".) The whole evening was outstanding. Honored our request for a wall table, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Awesome salads, amazing entrees (Fettuccine with Lobster and Veal Osso Buco), and a great Italian wine. Bill was our server and he couldn't have been more professional or gracious. The Osso Buco took a few extra minutes per Chef, but who's in a hurry when at Lucca's? We actually enjoyed the extra time. We dined in the back room where it's a bit quieter, and that made it quite the lovely evening. The bar dining area was extremely busy, as we had to weave and duck on our way out--- as packed as I've ever seen any restaurant anywhere--- but hey, the vibe was fantastic and people were finally out celebrating their freedom. It's a beautiful thing.
We will definitely return to Lucca on our next trip, already looking forward to it. Kudos to Chef and staff...great job. It'll be a nice memory.
Huge portions for dinner, but the food was delicious! Recommend the Braised Beef and Potato Gnocchi and the Duck Confit Tarte appetizers. Wonderful service! Our server could not have been any better, made the experience even better.
Awesome in all respects!!
Delicious food and exceptional service
Food was great! Very fresh, flavorful, great presentation. I'll definitely be back
Great experience at Lucca. Food was excellent and the serving staff/management was phenomenal. I will be back to Lucca in the near future!
Best bar in North End! Food was extraordinary. Service too. Can’t wait to go back!
Can’t go wrong with this classic Italian spot! If you’re looking for good vibes, great food and an extremely friendly, accommodating staff then this is a must visit!
The host was very welcoming. Our waiter was not very friendly. He warmed a bit but not great. The bus person was more talkative than anyone. We had the mussels, olives, wild boar ragu, and ravioli. Food was fair. My suggestion would be walk across the street to Dolce Vita. Better service, and better food. The limoncello martini was very good
The salmon on carrot purée with fingerling potatoes was cooked to perfection. My friends had scampi/linguine. Delicious choices and the recommended Pinot Grigio also was fruity and divine. Thank you Lucca
I had lovely service, incredible food and presentation, and great wine selection.
A nice atmosphere if you are not very picky with food, 2 of our pasta dishes for instance were overcooked.
We always go to Lucca every time we are in Boston were there celebrating our anniversary food and atmosphere never disappoint. First time back since pandemic just thrilled they weathered the storm
Delicious food. Incredible service. Waitress extremely attentive and knew the menu well and made excellent suggestions! You can tell the staff cares about the patrons. Can’t wait to return!
Overall the meal was good. It wasn’t great? But it was good. Chocolate torte had barely any flavor at all, very disappointed in dessert. We had rigatoni dinner which was very good.
Great food and company. The service was fantastic
Fabulous scallop dish. Chef knows how to cook seafood to perfection.
Classic North End Italian. The service is fantastic as is the food. Highly recommended.
We were celebrating being in Boston together for the very first time! Everything at Lucca was delicious!
I picked Lucca because of good reviews and because I love the town of Lucca in Italy. Atmosphere was lively and fun. Service was good. Boston North End is always a fun night. The food was OK. Not great. Bread wasn’t Italian at all. A soft yeast roll. They brought a basil pesto spread that didn’t have much flavor. My companion liked her pasta but my chicken was sort of a fried nugget thing. Not at all what I expected and kind of dry. Place was jammed but so were all the many other Italian restaurants on Hanover Street. I’d try another next time.
Excellent service and amazing food
Best service ever! I just have to say they were so helpful! I definitely will dine there again over and over!
Everything was good but it took a long time and not a lot of options on menu. Great server who was very helpful
We had a nice dinner at Lucca in the North End of Boston but the food was not exceptional. The restaurant was rather noisy but we had a table in the back of the dining room where could converse with the friends with whom we went to dinner. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Overall, the meal the meal was not up to what would be expected for the price charged.
