I picked Lucca because of good reviews and because I love the town of Lucca in Italy. Atmosphere was lively and fun. Service was good. Boston North End is always a fun night. The food was OK. Not great. Bread wasn’t Italian at all. A soft yeast roll. They brought a basil pesto spread that didn’t have much flavor. My companion liked her pasta but my chicken was sort of a fried nugget thing. Not at all what I expected and kind of dry. Place was jammed but so were all the many other Italian restaurants on Hanover Street. I’d try another next time.
Excellent service and amazing food
Best service ever! I just have to say they were so helpful! I definitely will dine there again over and over!
Everything was good but it took a long time and not a lot of options on menu. Great server who was very helpful
We had a nice dinner at Lucca in the North End of Boston but the food was not exceptional. The restaurant was rather noisy but we had a table in the back of the dining room where could converse with the friends with whom we went to dinner. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Overall, the meal the meal was not up to what would be expected for the price charged.
Martin was phenomenal, he knew the dishes and made great recommendations. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the service from everyone from when we arrived to when we departed was incredible.

Excellent! In every way!
Wonderful meal and excellent service. Loved the Wild Boar pasta dish. Definitely a favorite restaurant in the North end.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Never a disappointment and always a delicious go to. Great service too.
I have had the same dish (cinghiale - wild boar ragu) since I had first visited the restaurant in 1999. It is so consistent and still so delicious. Just as I remember every single visit and this dish is still a star!
Fun place on the North End
Our waiter was super attentive and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious. We had a great anniversary!
Kimberly was a great waitress
At that price point, I felt like the food was underwhelming. The bread was cold, the food wasn’t amazing. The server didn’t speak English very well. The busser didn’t speak any English and tried to take my food away twice while I was still eating it. May have been Russian. I’m fine with all of these things in general, but at that price point I was expecting a lot more— better food, service, table, ambience. We just felt kind of crammed in and it wasn’t an inviting atmosphere. Go to Parla
Exactly what we wanted when eating an amazing Italian meal in Boston!
Lucca is the best restaurant in the North End of Boston. If you haven’t eaten there, you should. You will not be disappointed in the bar, restaurant, food and service.
I’ve been going to Lucca with the family for years and haven’t had a bad experience or meal. It is my go-to place for a night out in the north end.
Terrific dinner. Lobster fettuccine and the boar garganelli were awesome. Caesar was great too. Cocktails and wine were tops and the atmosphere and the service some of the best anywhere.
Our waiter was fabulous as was the food. My husband had the special, a duck dish, and I had the scallops. Both were fantastic!
Our visit to Lucca's was truly great! The wine selection was great and diverse! I got the special "Catch of the day" it was Halibut. I think it was the best seafood dish I ever had.
Best food and service my family had on a quick getaway to Boston.
FABULOUS ALL AREAS
Wonderful food and our server was a pleasure.
Great food wine and service
Was an absolute joy and pleasure to get a table at this true authentic Italian restaurant. The food was so good that I can die happy now.
Lucca is always great! Service, food, atmosphere - and they have gluten free pasta! One of our regular Italian restaurants to go to in the North End.
Great night; good food, good ambience and our waitress made it specially cool!
Everything was great! My friend got the scallops, which she loved, and I got the daily fish special of halibut. Delicious!!!!!! We sat outside and it was a perfect night for outdoor dining. Can’t beat the energy of the North End for dinner. I would definitely have dinner at Lucca again.
At first I was skeptical because the menu was a bit overwhelming because e I didn’t know what the items were. After some descriptions and recommendations I ordered the pasta with wild boar ragout. It was probably the 3-5th best dish I have had in my life.
Great food and ambiance. Great North End restaurant.
Service was incredible. Lobster fra diavolo did not disappoint. Wine list was extensive. All around great experience and will definitely be back.
Great meal and service as always.
Lucca is one of our absolute favorite places in the North End. As residents, we’ve been to almost all the spots and Lucca stands out. The focaccia is amazing and the pesto pistachio butter is even better. You can’t leave without trying the short rib gnocchi appetizer. It is hands down the best thing on the menu. The meatballs are fabulous too. Their desserts aren’t the best but if you’re looking for something sweet try the espresso martini. Lucca is perfect for a date or some late night drinks. It’s one of the only restaurants in the North End still open for food after 10. It’s a limited menu but the restaurant is usually still bumping. Highly recommend!
Loved Luca North End! A high end delicious Italian dinner in a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely back next time we’re in town.
Definitely not authentic Italian!
The sauce is like Mexican salsa on the lobster fra Diablo !
The gnocchi with short ribs was tasty Minus the pound of salt the chef put!
My mom did enjoy the ravioli
But I did not !
Another great night at Lucca. My wife and I were lucky enough to get the window. Spectacular food and great wine list. Btw…if wearing a mask to go to the men’s room is onerous for you, stay home in your barcolounger- don’t hassle the waitstaff. They’ve had their masks on for 8 hours.
Waiter talked us in to the nightly special and then never served us. Appetizers and entrees came out at the same time.
I was by myself so I asked to eat at the bar. The bartender was amazing. My drink was in front of me within 1 minute. The appetizer, rigatoni, sangria, wine and dessert could not have been better. One of my favorites when I am in Boston.
Would not go back. Mediocre bland food that tries too hard. Nice staff, ambience and great service. But Hanover street has better spiced food. Do not order the cheese plate. …. but the bowl of warm olives was a high value tasty appetizer
Couldn't have choosen a better place to have dinner. Food, service and atmosophere were beyond excellent. The staff were so nice to every patron. Very impressive. Will return for sure.
