Amazing food and stellar service! Would definitely recommend for a nice date!
Billy is awesome! Helped us pick out a terrific wine, very friendly. Also Casey at the bar is great, can't wait to come back.
Nice menu with options for everyone.
The manager as well as the bartenders and wait staff were outstanding. They assisting us with seating and menu selection. They set the tone for a really upbeat, fun and positive evening.
Food was great, staff was very very nice (especially Billy, our waiter), and the environment was wonderful. Will definitely be back.
Lucca is by far the best restaurant in the North End. Decent size menu and the dishes NEVER disappoint. It’s our go to every time.
The tagliatelle with wild boar and Agrodulce was to die for, and the smoked bacon risotto was good too. Service was phenomenal, including nothing but graciousness when we asked to be moved farther from a boisterous group of diners. Pricy, but well worth it.
Service and food was amazing! Liked almost everything about this restaurant. The noise however, was a bit much. Kitchen dishes, outside activities, and conversations just seem to reverberate throughout the dining area.
Lucca's is a nice upscale Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston. The night that we dined there it was a very cold Thursday night. It was fairly slow and quiet. The ambiance if the restaurant is very nice. The waitress that served us was very knowledgeable and answered our questions thoroughly.
My date was satisfied with her entree, the Tagliatelle, however I was less than satisfied with mine; the ravioli. I believe my dish was prepared well, it just didn't appeal to me.
I would recommend this restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves.
I've eaten here several times now. Excellent every time. Noise is usually an issue, other than in the Summer when the front windows are open (and even then only when not too busy). Best Italian food in town, IMO.
Will definitely return!! A star amongst north end restaurants
Lucca is our "go to" restaurant in the North End - never disappoints. Highly recommend!
Lucca not only had fantastic food, but great staff and a lovely atmosphere. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than our reservation, but were sat right away. Our server Kristen was personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She made suggestions for each part of our meal including selecting a bottle of wine. Everything was prompt and delightful- we can’t wait to return. Would highly recommend!
A go-to spot in the North for sure! My husband is a Chef and it is very hard to find a restaurant that he can truly enjoy. Lucca is one that is always, consistently a perfect choice. Love it in the summer months when the front windows are open to the street.
Cocktails are superb and the wine selection is amazing!
Great place. Welcoming environment. Excellent wait staff. High end/north end!
Service was exceptional and food was delicious!!!
10/10 all around, one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had
Delicious food... comprehensive menu... extensive wine list... excellent service and reasonable prices. Staff was accommodating...
Always excellent. A birthday dinner for my mom. Service was impeccable! Really love their food, not your typical red sauce, chicken parm, lasagna place. Interesting pairings with very fresh ingredients. Matty could not have been more attentive. My 78 year old mother loved him! Always eat here when we are in the North End!
Overall it was a great evening. We will definitely go back!
Everything was phenomenal!
A+ RATING ... across the board !!
nice place for a romantic dinner,, great service !!
The food and service were fantastic. The bartender made us some great drinks while we waited for our guests to arrive. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Highly recommend.
Awesome food, excellent service and great ambiance! Their menu is so tough because EVERYTHING is good. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose. We love it there and can’t wait to go back!
Great dinner before Bruins game.
Attentive wait staff who asked if we needed cab to the game.
The food was amazing - we took a recommendation from our server(who was amazing) and we couldn’t be happier. Come hungry - you won’t be disappointed!
Delicious! All the way from CT to celebrate last minute. Perfect for NYE and the menu options were tasty! Can't wait to go back!
We’ve come to Luca many times ....especially for New Year’s Eve...this year they had a fixed price...I ordered the scallops which were really salty and not fresh...my wife ordered lobster gnocchi which were so salty that they were inedible
My poor experience began before I even arrived at the restaurant. I made my reservation in November for New Year's Eve. Since it was NYE, I guessed that there might be a prix fixe menu but could not find any mention of it online. Although no notice was given about using a credit card to reserve a table that night, I received a call in late December asking for a credit card to reserve my table, which would be subject to a cancellation fee. In response to an email, I confirmed my reservation on OpenTable, however I also received a phone call from the restaurant the day before our reservation (why bother with an email if they're going to call anyway?). The hostess informed me that their would, in fact, be a prix fixe menu that evening which was a surprise to me. I asked if there would be sides to order a la carte, which I had to define for her, and she was unable to tell me, though she was nice enough to offer to call back with an answer.
We arrived a little early for our New Year's Eve reservation and we were seated shortly after. There were some balloons unceremoniously floating on the ceiling. From the second we sat down, everything seemed to take a lifetime. We ordered meatballs in addition to our appetizers but the sauce was cold. The meatballs were good and it was busy so we did not complain. We didn't see our waitress again after that.
By the time we received our dinners, it was 1 hour and 45 minutes after we had arrived and we had both finished two drinks (which we had really, really been milking). I ordered a third glass of wine to go with my dinner and dessert. We were barely hungry still because it had been so long since our appetizers but the lobster gnocchi was good but worth the price tag. Same goes for the tiramisu.
Overall, the food wasn't worth the price and the service was terrible. I know it was NYE but the reason for a prix fixe menu is to make sure the kitchen times are manageable. Bricco was much better, go there instead.
Great wine, food, and staff
We had made our reservations on Open Table for New Year’s Eve for 6 people at this restaurant back on December 16, 2018. They called me on December 23 to get a CC in case we did not show up so they could charge me $10 per person. At this point no prefix menu was mentioned on on their website. Another call to me on December 29 to check that we were still going and to inform us about the prefix menu. Still nothing posted and when I asked where I could view ithe menu they said to pull up last years prefix and it would “pretty much be the same”. Also I received a couple text messages asking me to confirm the reservation....kind of overkill.
Anyway the food was good, though I had the mussels for my appetizer and another person at our table had the same. Her portion was twice the size of mine. It was actually kind of funny....we did laugh. But everyone was pleased with their meals....so that is important. Our only complaint was when the bill came we saw that we were being charged $5.50 for water. They had a clear bottle that they were filling with tap water and charging us for it! Now that was a little too much for us to take! Especially since each couple was spending well over $200 (including drinks and tip). We questioned our waiter and he did remove the charge. It just seemed sneaky to me.
Terrible soggy Caesar salad served not at all as listed on menu. Items not brought (forgotten). “Garlic bread” was mostly cheese, no garlic taste. Cocktail tasted extremely watery (had no alcohol in it?! sent it back). New Years Eve $65 prix fix menu total ripoff. Server uninformed about menu but otherwise friendly & apologetic.
We went to Lucca for New Year’s Eve and were looking forward to great food and a relaxed 3-course meal. We felt rushed all the way through, even though we did request that the process be slowed down. For example, the second glass of wine for the pairing was brought before the first one was finished! The server was pleasant enough, but it was all just too fast for this type of meal. The food was mediocre. Presentation was nice, but overall nothing to rave about. It’s not a place we would try again.
Spent NYE early this year with nice dinner. Service was excellent; dinner menu was prix fixe, and mussels were wonderful! Would have skipped dessert for other appetizer choices, but otherwise very nice atmosphere and great food.
Went for New Years Eve Dinner. Everything was excellent! And even though it is NYE, we did not feel rushed.
New Year’s Eve
We ate at Lucca prior to the New Year, as we have done before. Lucca is like a highly condensed version of the North End, vibrant and noisy combining classic Italian cuisine with a more modern perspective.
The staff at Lucca are outstanding! This restaurant knows how to create a one of a kind experience for authentic Italian cuisine and is easily the best in Boston’s historic North End.
The food was spectacular especially the duck confit and the Bolognese! Wonderful experience.
