An excellent meal while on a business trip. Lovely food. A superb Brunello. Very friendly and attentive service.
The poached pear salad was fantastic. The Burrata was fresh and delicious. The scallops could have had more flavor. The prosciutto was too overcooked and the pumpkin undercooked on the scallop dish. The restaurant atmosphere was inviting and the owner was charming. Overall we enjoyed it.
Our server , Connor, had excellent menu suggestions
Everything about Lucca was exceptional. The setting itself is both convenient and beautifully appointed. Tables are spread out to allow for intimate conversations and that means the noise level is much lower than some comparable eateries. The service was impeccable — our server was helpful, giving recommendations about how to narrow down our choices and offering to split both entrees and appetizers so we were able to enjoy the menu more fully. And then there’s the food itself. Beautifully presented without being fussy, multi-layered flavors and textures — each bite was unbelievable. We had the hurray’s, the rigatoni and the semifreddo for dessert and all were unforgettable. A pleasure to recommend to others seeking delicious Italian cuisine.
Great place! The food was great, the service wonderful. Especially enjoyed our enthusiastic and friendly waiter. He knew we had tickets for a show so made sure we were finished on time without making us feel rushed.
We had the venison and a special, the halibut. Both were delicious. I particularly loved the berry sauce on the venison.
The calamari appetizer and the beet salad were as good as it gets. My wife's halibut, a daily special, was perfectly cooked but a tad too salty. My pork chop was excellent, as were the accompanying slaw and sweet potato wedges. Service is very professional, with staff members constantly but unobtrusively circulating through the dining area. The tardiness of our wine to accompany the main courses was noticed by several staffers, and our server seem flustered after that. We've been here many times before, and we'll certainly be back.
I’ve been going to Lucca many times over the last 2 years, and I especially enjoy just sitting in the bar area having drinks and appetizers. The meatballs, calamari, arrancini and pizza of the day are always good. The service is great and I’m always greeted with smiles hugs by Lisa.
Beautiful dinner, food, restaurant! Favorite meal in Boston!!!
I booked a reservation because it was not far from the Huntington. It was a great surprise to find the food, ambiance and service was great!
We live in Houston but come to Lucca Back Bay every time we are in Boston. Fabulous food and great service. It's a gem and we will be back!
We dined there on our first night in Boston. Some of the best Italian food in town. Great variety of menu choices. Attentive but not overbearing waiters made the evening wonderful
Outstanding food, great service, beautiful decor. Great for a special occasion, business meeting, or just a relaxing good time with fantastically flavorful food.
What a nice place. It was our first time there. It was nearby our hotel, and we needed a quiet place to have a discussion. Great food and terrific service. I'm looking forward to returning to Boston to visit Lucca Back Bay again.
The food and service are consistently outstanding at Lucca's Back Bay.
I love this restaurant. It's got a great team that delivers consistently good service and delicious food.
Don't know if we hit a bad day or what. But our experience was not as good as we hoped based on the reviews. Great room, great service but the food was not as expected. Two main issues were pork chop was way overcooked but the brine saved it so it did still taste good. The pasta was undercooked. They kindly redid the dish but even when cooked correctly the pasta was tough. This is an Italian restaurant that makes its own pasta; not acceptable. The management aims to please so maybe this was a fluke. I hope so. Sorry for the poor review. I wish I had better things to say.
Good restaurant, a bit pricey but overall worth the value in a great location. The service was very good and the specials were interesting and delicious.
We always visit Lucca when we are in Boston. The specials were amazing and the atmosphere is lovely. Truly authentic cuisine and service.
Drinks at the bar were superb. Service was attentive, not overbearing. Food was fresh, seasonal, creative.
Good food, pricey wines, noisier than a jet runway. Not conducive to conversation at civil voice levels if you have any hearing loss.
Everything was excellent. Appetizers to desserts. Nice wine selection. Great specials-I especially enjoyed the halibut special finished with popcorn
We chose Lucca because of the rave reviews online and proximity to our Hotel while visiting Boston. The restaurant patrons struck me as business people, date nighters, and visitors to the city. We dined with friends and had an absolute wonderful meal. Portions were a good size and our cocktails very well done. Don't know that I would go there will little ones as the scene is definitely very upscale adult but if they are well behaved don't see why not. Overall we greatly enjoyed our dishes and had no complaints! Would definitely go back.
Food, wine and service was fantastic! Will definitely return.
Have been to Lucca a few times lately. It's a comfortable, quiet place with great food. The service bordered on pretentious, but never crossed the line...overall, it was a great experience!
White gazpacho and salmon dish, both a ten out of ten! Service was attentive and friendly.
We will return!
Lovely atmosphere. Amazing food. Worth the money. Are going back that's how good it was.
The food was great and the staff was even better if that's possible. I lost my phone and went back the next day and the staff was exceedingly helpful. When you have wonderful food and the people that serve you care about you what more can you ask
Nice ambiance, not too noisy, very good food, mildly aggressive waiter trying to enhance food orders
The food was good overall but we did have a problem with our salmon being undercooked initially which was resolved in a quick, professional manner. We were not fans of the spread given out with the bread which really did not enhance the flavor of the bread. The desserts, especially the chocolate were outstanding. The service was also top notch and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant although it was a bit loud. Good dinning experience.
Great selection of good, and fairly priced food from the Dine Out Menu! We started with drinks at the bar, and our bartender kindly gave us some complimentary bourbon because the first two bourbons we selected they did not have in stock. Excellent service at the bar. When we moved to the table, we had good service from our waitress but she seemed very busy and infrequently checked in on us (we had to ask her for her name). The food we ordered, both on and off the Dine Out menu, were excellent in flavor, quality, and presentation - especially the lamb, calamari, ravioli, and chocolate brownie dessert. The salmon skin was very crispy, but the rest of the salmon was a little over cooked. Regardless, it was all delicious and we enjoyed the relaxing and relatively quiet restaurant environment. Highly recommend for Dine Out!
Food was good but not great. I don't think I would go back there are a lot of places that provide a better dinning experience, and the price just doesn't make it worth it.
Amazingly good food for "Restaurant Week." Not dumbed down at all. Lamb carpaccio was very very good.
Connor F. is one of the nicest and most attentive waiters in Back Bay.
Food was not that great.
Excellent experience on all levels.
Went into Boston for a few days to celebrate my wife's birthday. Saw good reviews for Lucca's Back Bay, and I could walk there from our hotel. Everything from salad to oysters to our entrees was spectacular! Flavors as we had never before tasted. Extremely pleased
We had a thoroughly wonderful experience. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and could answer questions and make recommendations, which we listened to and were glad that we did. We ordered the calamari appetizer, wine, sparkling water (which was wonderful and not over-carbonated), the chef's special, dessert, and after dinner drinks. It was lovely. The food was fresh, creative, and perfectly prepared. The wine was great. We also had Grappa to end the meal. They served a wonderful bread with a white bean spread, too. Highly recommend.
Dark and quiet inside. The food was absolutely amazing. So tasty and perfect portions. The drinks are a little small but everything else was great :)
Great food and excellent wine list however would advice to reprint wine menu - several misspellings;
Piemonte & Bordeaux
