Lucca Back Bay
Our server was great and very attentive to our table! She made great recommendations on the food and wine menu, and was very knowledgeable on their selections. They offered to plate our entrees on separate plates before we could even ask!
Aside from service, the food was spectacular and served timely so we didn’t feel rushed between appetizers and entrees.
Had planned to go to a concert, but that had been canceled at the last minute. We decided that we would go out and stretch out our “pre-concert” dinner at Lucca. The food was, as always, delicious and perfectly cooked. Our waiter (whose name I don’t remember) was wonderful: attentive, patient, knowledgeable, friendly and invisible until he suddenly knew when to appear... One on the best waiters I’ve met in some time. We had a great night and hope to be back soon.
Nice meal and very good service. Caesar Salad great as was Short Rib. Pork chop was dry. Booked an early reservation, so we could make the Bruins game. Had understood that Lucca was offering the Dine Out Boston special on the Saturday evening ... but no special menu was presented. Should have stayed in the North End where our hotel was located and around the corner from the Garden. I am curious if I am mistaken about the Dine Out special being offered by Lucca Back Bay on Saturday, March 7, or if they neglected to present this menu.
I would’ve like upstairs so my guest could be in a room
Good Italian restaurant close to BSO/Jordan Hall. Salad, soup & pasta bolognese were good. Did not enjoy one of our ice cream desserts and the server kindly removed it from our bill. Great service and ambience.
Excellent food presented beautifully.
Our waiter, Juan, was superb and very attentive.
The food here was surprisingly good. Even the green salad was delicious. The rolled chicken was tasty and fairly moist, as was the fish. The wine list was encompasses wide selections of new world and european, particularly italian wines.
Everything was great except it was slightly chilly near the windows. The service was really very good.
Disappointed in my meal. Prior experience at Lucca Back -Bay had been very good, but this time I was served a barely edible pork chop. It certainly was a satisfyingly large chop, but so overcooked I could barely cut it with a steak knife. I should have sent it back, but I don't like to make waves. Probably will go back again, but disappointed this time.
reliably great service and entrees - the staff and management are incredibly professional and the restaurant always delivers a great evening
The food was splendid. We shared four appetizers and were very pleased with freshness of ingredients and ideas. For example, the calimari was not breaded and fried but rather served in a very nice red sauce. The salad was a pyramid of nicely sliced mixed dark greens, light greens and purple cabbage.
We had reservations for a birthday dinner. Excellent experience!!
Started out with two great appetizers which were the gnocchis and salumi. For drinks, a couple bottles of an Italian wine as suggested by our waiter. Entrees ranged from filet, salmon, linguini with lobster and a chicken dish. All were excellent!! For dolci, we had an array of sweets that finished off a very nice Sunday night celebration
Dinner was great. We had the ravioli and the rigatoni and both were excellent. Definitely recommend this place and will gladly visit again.
Always great food and lovely surroundings. One of the best restaurant martinis I’ve had. Not that I drink a lot of martinis! Service is very good. Noise level not bad for a restaurant of its size. Look forward to going back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Lucca. The rigatoni was delicious and tasted homemade, the lavender gimlet was excellent with fresh squeezed lemon and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be back!
Always a nice place to have dinner before theater/symphony or just to have dinner.
Portions are huge and most split easily
This is one of our regular places to go when in Boston. It is convenient to Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, and the Huntington Theater. The menu is highly imaginative and varied, and the quality is always excellent. The waitstaff is uniformly friendly and informative. Our waiter this time, César, was outstanding. I especially recommend the calamari appetizer and the salmon.
Great service, really good food.
Lucca is our go to place for a special occasion! The food, the ambience, the service - everything is always so amazing and we always leave feeling so special!!
Excellent meal and service!
Definitely will recommend this restaurant and cant wait to visit again.
Valentines Day very busy and poor attention from servers. Meal was not paced well, wine bottle stored away from the table and had empty wine glasses for 5 min. Missing silverware.
The quality of the food was great and setting is beautiful.
Freezing temp, food came out way too slowly and the food itself was very meh
We had a lovely meal on Valentines day. Prix fix which we felt a bit restricting.
But delicious food! And very good service. Will definitely return.
Was okay but definitely over priced, but they are in Back Bay. Would give the restaurant 3.5 stars overall.
We always enjoy the food at Lucca, and this was no exception. My husband enjoyed the penne with bolognese for at least the 3rd time. i had the evening's special which was superb. Our waitperson was outstanding - she was a real professional - quietly served some of her other tables with no extraneous conversation, and also intuited that we can enjoy conversing about the food, drinks etc.
Lucca is one of our favorite places to dine before Theatre, Symphony or other things in the area.
Pleasant service and wonderful food. Visitors were in town from U.K. and able to enjoy great food in city with central location
We loved everything about this restaurant!! It was the perfect place to celebrate our son's 18th birthday! Thank you for making it special for him!
Perfect dinner pre-Huntington Theatre, as you can easily walk off dinner before the show! Best Desert!
Great food, but some items on the menu were not available; even some wine were not
Food was delicious, service was excellent, restaurant was not overly crowded, even for a Saturday night.
We had a fabulous meal, and wonderful service. We were going to the BSO and had a friend visiting from out of town. This made for a special evening.
This one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended, and we will be back.
One member of our party is a strict vegetarian, which was disclosed to our server, but his entree still ended up with pancetta in it. He didn’t realize it until he was more than halfway through the dish. He’s not one to make a fuss, so he didn’t complain. But it was a major mistake that embarrassed me, since I chose the restaurant. I later discovered that we were also overcharged on our bill, so I quietly pulled our server aside (away from our table) to mention both issues. He had to rerun my card to correct the overcharge, but I was disappointed he didn’t comp the entree that was supposed to be vegetarian. Overall, the food in general was not good enough for us to want to return in the future.
We ordered two starters to share amongst four people and we chose the calamari and the salumi. Both were very delicious dishes and were the perfect size to share. The pasta dishes were a good portion size and the atmosphere was sophisticated but not too posh. Would highly recommend
Delicious food, impeccable service. Nice to have valet at the door in this cold weather. Prices were a little higher than I remembered but overall excellent.
Always great at Lucca Back Bay. Menu has good options and everything they prepare show the special talents of the kitchen. I usually get the seafood special entree, but got the lobster with tagliatelle pasta and it was delicious.
Been coming here a lot for meals before concerts at Symphony Hall. Great food and service, staff always attentive to needs and timing.
Wonderful experiance. Server was knowledgeable, food was very good and the decor lovely. My only comment is to ask ownership to give some thought to diners who enjoy a plant based diet. Salads and sides are often offered but it would be great if plant based patrons could enjoy the chefs and kitchens talents as much as other dining companions. I've enjoyed vegetable ravioli with out ricotta as a filling ingredient at other restaurants, something along those lines would be considerate and reflect a restaurant with Luccas sophistication.
